  1. All those cars on your list are completely different, so start at the very start: What must the car have/do? RWD/FWD/4WD? 2 or 4 seats? Hardtop or convertible? NA or FI? Does reliability matter? Toy or commuter? Answer those questions honestly and you'll narrow your list down a lot.
  2. The iOS5 announcements were made ages ago this year, and given that we know the press conference called on the 4th is iPhone-specific, I struggle to think what else it would be apart from the arrival of the next Jesus Phone. Since Apple don't tend to leave the announcement of a new piece of hardware and the actual shipping dates too far apart, along with the fact they very much want to be seen to get the next release "right" after Job's has left, there's going to be a hell of an uproar if they don't announce the new phone.
  3. Glad you're impressed with them Hoffs, they really are quite stunning in terms of feel aren't they?
  4. Due to be announced on Tuesday, so expect a release a couple of weeks after that presumably.
  5. Have you got the adjustment knob on the top of the lance set correctly? I find I have to have mine on near closed (so full foam) to have a decent effect, I put that down to the lance itself than the foam or concentration itself though.
  6. That's just a concept made aaaaages ago by an external design studio touting for business. The real iPhone 4S/5 won't be anything like that.
  7. Shame it's Fail Wheel Drive though
  8. 335i. Do it, don't ask, you'll love it.
  9. Tbh common sense dictates that you don't go and drive a sports car in the snow more than tyre choice. We've all done it, but that doesn't make it a good idea and the few times I've done it was when I got caught out and had practically no other choice. If there's (proper) snow out on the road, I would always leave the car at home.
  10. LA LA LA LA I'M NOT LISTENING I can't believe I've got to wait a year to get these on my car, they were bloody developed on a 911 FFS!
  11. Quick answer would be either: RE050A or Ultrac Sessanta ...depending on budget. Either will see you fine all year round, the 050As are significantly better in terms of grip but lack the outright feel of the VUS.
  12. But there's hardly an argument that the Mini was a far greater defining moment in car history than almost anything else on that list, that's the point of it.
  13. Well then why not include a cauliflower, a blue Biro and a tin of grease in it as well then? The guys on the original PH thread had to list why they picked a car as the greatest ever. Personally I love the Enzo but I wouldn't class it as an all-time great over something like the F40, despite never wanting to own the older car of the two. A list of lottery-win cars will be completely different to one of cars that are a defining moment in automotive history.
  14. I do it on everything that gets stats boost from Aura, so that's not the initial research but it does include the build, the adding of parts, and the improvement of both parts and vehicles.
  15. To be fair to insurers, there isn't a company in the world that gives you their best price straight away. Why should they, they all know you're only going to haggle the cost anyway so there's no incentive to get it as low as possible first time.
  16. Protip: When making the top cars, parts or upgrading any of the above, only do it when you have an Aura to use. I didn't know that when I first started playing so I could never make a car that would win the Kairo race, so I had to start again
  17. Same reason all the Minis and 911s got lumped in together I guess.
  18. What's the point of any list? It's just a cross-section view of the cars that petrolheads think are awesome, and it was quite a PITA for the guy to put together (check the original thread on PH for more).
  19. Nine places higher than the R35, oddly. Nowhere near 3rd place though
  20. Bearing in mind they're adding the Cajun (mini-Cayenne) soon, I'm guessing they're not too interested in other markets right now. In all honesty (and being completely biased I will freely admit), why should they? You want a roadster? Buy the Boxster. You want a small coupe? Buy the Cayman. You want a 2+2 practical sports coupe? Buy the 911. You want something utterly balls-out? Buy a 911 GT car. You want to ferry the kids around? Buy the Cayenne. You want to impress your golfing buddies? Buy the Panamera. There is no other car company barring Audi that have such a broad range of sporty cars that are all dynamically at the top of the tree (which is where Porsche beats Audi). Anything else just isn't necessary and would dilute the brand further. Bearing in mind the 928 was supposed to replace the 911, but no-one bought it in the numbers they expected because they all still wanted that gorgeous shape mated with an unusual drivetrain and the howl of a flat-6. Sadly, there's a reason that Porsches are incredibly common, but that's because they're all so bloody good.
  21. It's the Bad Boi-esque front bonnet that I don't get on with. I know it's there for aerodynamics, but it looks like those horrible chav Saxos et al that pull the bonnet down over the front lights. Also that pic above has the most grotesque wheels seen on a Ferrari since the 348 originals: They're just too skinny.
  22. Enjoy it fella, just treat it as a fast road rather than a track and you'll get the best compromise between amazing fun and not stuffing it into the armco
  23. Could well be a neighbour with a new radio source, usually it's doorbells that interfere but it could be anything realistically.
  24. because it's supposed to be anonymous. There is no conspiracy theory to be had here, if you don't feel comfortable with it you don't have to enter. Woah, who mentioned conspiracy? Must admit I skimmed over the anonymous part so I guess that make sense if you really wanted to keep it that way, but tbh it's all a bit of a faff and most other photo competitions seem to work pretty well without anonymity so I guess I'll be happy taking your last suggestion, thanks John. As an alternative though, would it not be an easier (and quicker) idea if we allow the winner of each month (assuming this is going to be a monthly thing) to choose both the theme and winner of the following month? That way we can all just post up pics and get this thing rolling, plus it'll keep it a bit more fresh rather than just having one person choosing the theme all the time. Just a thought, anyway.
  25. That was the case for the 996/997, which was basically the same car underneath. It's pretty much a non-story really, and I don't know why all the big guys are running it as 'news'. In 3/4 years time you'll get the 991.2, and then three years after that the 992.1, and then 3/4 years after that the 992.2 so it's pretty straightforward really. Besides, having made such a huge investment into the car you'd expect any manufacturer to try everything possible to extend the life of the product: Some will sell the chassis to others or move it between brands in the same group, but as the 911 is unique in construction they'll just put a prettier body on it and re-work the engine/interior/suspension setup. Easy as that.
