  1. Depends on definition of should For economy then yes, for progress then no.
  2. Of course, what this thread really does is illustrate the benefits of a large capacity engine over a smaller turbocharged unit. The flexibility of a good size lump means there really isn't a wrong gear as such, it just depends on what the user feels comfortable with
  3. I think the biggest issue that England has is that we have some of the best attacking talent in the world (Rooney, Walcott, Gerrard, Ox, Young) but yet we persist in sitting back and soaking things up rather than pressing and going for it. That's very frustrating to watch, as even if it is a genuine tactic rather than everyone else being better than us, it does tend to look like the latter.
  4. Fair point. We still didn't win anything though, and our run to the semis was down to a fortunate combination of not having to qualify and home advantage as well as Gazza and Shearer hitting form at the right time IMHO. I don't remember it that well though if I'm honest, I was only 16 at the time. Your memory of it is probably better than mine, no offence.
  5. 350Z ratios: 1 3.794 2 2.324 3 1.624 4 1.271 5 1.00 6 0.794 FD 3.538 997 PDK ratios: 1 3.91 2 2.29 3 1.65 4 1.30 5 1.08 6 0.88 7 0.62 FD 3.44 I'm rubbish with ratios when you convert them with the final drive so I have no idea what that means, but I do know that the 911 will hit just over 70 in 2nd gear but the Zed only just makes it past 60. Well, mine used to anyway (revup DE). I get that a 3.794 ratio is longer than a 3.91, but if anyone would like to explain how FD relates to making them longer or shorter in comparison, I'm all ears.
  6. Instead of creating all these weird and wonderful formations that look fantastic, does no-one remember that our club sides don't play like that and so the players would have no idea how to get those tactics working? For years we've had managers doing the square peg thing, and we've all ripped them for doing it. Finally we have a manager that just plays with what he's got, is getting the results with it and we're still criticising him/the team? There is nothing wrong with a 4-4-2 as long as it stays organised. Our players seem to be doing a pretty good job of that, so why the fuss to change things? I agree we could (should!) be playing some prettier football, but it's very hard to argue with results. And yes, I have completely changed my tune from the start of the thread
  7. To give another side to this, my 911 will go into 6th at 32mph and 7th at 41mph if you leave it in default mode.
  8. 6th. Tickle the throttle and the car is happy enough, done it myself before a few times.
  9. Richards isn't in because he refused to go on standby, preferring to go on holiday instead. Still want him in the team?
  10. In a manual it would probably be third, but 5th is preferable really. 6th works okay too, just don't nail the throttle or you'll labour the engine.
  11. You can drive like that until your next MOT, if you want.
  12. Fuel will never be cheaper than it is now, so if you don't buy a silly car now then you never will
  13. You're being harsh on yourself mate: Your abusive posts must be much higher than just 1%! Congrats bud
  14. You're not far wrong, I'm proper dosed up today You know what I mean though.

You look a prat buying a really flash sports car when a crappy £100 Fiesta will get you everywhere you need to go. SeewhatIdidthere? Funny you should bring this up as a topic, as I was looking yesterday for a cheapy watch to wear for work but that I could still wear out for a night. I was looking at the Boss Orange 1512531, as I'm really into orange right now for some reason. I've still got my Datejust that my parents bought me for my 21st if I want something a bit more special on my arm, so I think this may be a good buy. Like SMD says, I'll just bin it after a year if it's knackered.
  16. Of course it is. I wouldn't not buy a great car just because of the image.
  17. For what a 370 costs, there is nothing to touch it in terms of pound to performance. If you can't afford or don't want to spend extra to move up a level, then the 370 is a great buy if you just fancy a new car. For me, it wasn't that different to justify the cost to change, and I decided that if I was going to change cars then I was going to do it properly. Nothing wrong with either route really, each to their own and all that. Would rather pick up a base 370 than a GT86/BRZ, that's for sure.
  18. Fair point, but F1 is a bit different to LM where you get massive speed and braking differentials between cars, and the race is set over 3000 miles not just 180. I guess I just feel that while the DW is not the perfect race car for many reasons, it's shape with regards to overtaking isn't one of them.
  19. Nah, I don't buy it. Racing drivers don't drive that close to vehicles they're overtaking unless they're being complete idiots, as they're likely to take themselves out too. Enough cars overtook the DW at the weekend safely to prove that the shape is perfectly safe enough to go racing with.
  20. It's got a couple of mahoosive lights on the rear quarters, there's no mistaking how wide the vehicle is.
  21. No chance, I know your wife too well
  22. Evoque. New car trumps old car every time.
