  1. Not the world's worst idea. I had very similar issues to yours on my old car, however my trouble was the camber on the front refusing to go where it should be on the O/S. In the end, and after many hours had been spent on it by DMS (who I'm still grateful for to this day) and on their recommendation, I purchased some camber adjustable front arms along with some rear toe arms, and although we never did quite pin down the cause of the issue certainly by fitting the parts it worked an absolute treat. Not a cheap option, but an effective one.
  2. If it's any comfort my MX-5 has been in the garage since last Wednesday for *ahem* remedial work to the slightly-rotted sills and trying to get the emissions through the MOT, and it still wasn't ready as of lunchtime today Bloody cars and bloody MOTs!
  3. 276bhp, as per the Japanese manufacturers' gentlemans agreement from a few years back. Good looking cars, even today, and I'm pretty sure the Senna connection has always helped keep prices up. I'll take a 3.2 manual in blue, please!
  4. Bookatrack. You won't find a better TDO in the country IMHO. Johnny doesn't take any crap so they're as safe as possible, but very friendly and laid back as well. That said, BaT don't do Bedford which is by far and away the safest track in the UK, albeit a bit flat. They do do Anglesey though, which is almost as safe and 100% more fun, well worth the travel.
  5. No, it's illegal. Sec 6 (3a) of theThe Road Vehicles (Display of registration marks) Regulations 2001 states that front registration plates should be mounted vertically or as near to vertical as practicable. Source (if you can be arsed) And yes, it will also fail the MOT. It also looks utterly f*cking ridiculous.
  6. 2-0 Italy.
  7. RS4 pix?
  8. You know what? If a dealer can't be arsed to fix a car before trying to sell it, do you really think he's going to be helpful if anything goes wrong after he's taken your money and you want it fixed? Plenty of other cars out there, don't give him the satisfaction of knowing he can sell cars that clearly have an issue.
  9. Quicker in a straight line? Probably. Quicker in the twisties? No chance. Nicer place to sit and cruise? Definitely.
  10. Here'sa link to the DVLA website stating the rules for displaying registration numbers Absolutely no mention of screwing the plate in at all, and there's nothing on the MOT either. Stick-on plates (not vinyl) are fine.
  11. It's a bit of a twattish comment to drop into this thread, yes. Also the VX is more Lotus than Vauxhall, but don't let the facts get in the way of you having a random rant for no good reason.
  12. How would they have seen if your front plate was reflective if they came up behind you?
  13. If your original big clean was good, then just a simple wash will get the shine back, no quick detailer needed.
  14. So then why don't only 25% of people actually go on strike, but the rest carry on working? Oh yeah, it's because they'll get called names and shunned by their work colleagues who can't understand that folks are free to make their own choices, so they sink down to their level and become sheep. Tell me I'm wrong.
  15. Engine note.
  16. Run a can of 10K Boost through it. Amazing stuff, promise.
  17. No it's not, it's retarded. It doesn't take a minute or two, it can be done within the time it takes further ballboys to go and get the ball and give it back to the player to take the goal kick/free kick anyway, so it won't waste any more time. Doesn't need doing for everything, but certainly for goals, penalties and red cards it shoud be used. Ask yourself this: When they show you the replays on TV a couple of times and then cut back to the action, do you actually miss anything? No, you don't, because people take ages to sort themselves out anyway.
  18. The judge said I'm not allowed to be alone with kids anymore, so I can't take you up on your kind offer
  19. Definitely take it elsewhere, if nothing else you rule out incompetence.
  20. Also, doctors and bus drivers and firemen going on strike can f*ck the hell off. Doctors I almost get, bu the last two? Greedy bastards. Sorry to hijack Chris, wanted to get that off my chest though
  21. Totally agree.
  22. Honestly? My first choice would be to take it somewhere else to see if they find the same thing, but obviously don't tell them that there might be problems. If your usual place can't see anything immediately wrong then it's unlikely to be a cheap fix regardless, so a quick £80 alignment may not be a complete waste of time if they can find something from a clean perspective.
  23. I wouldn't even ever have dreamed of asking for time back if I was ill on annual leave (the fact it's my own business aside!), I would just look at it as incredibly bad luck.
