  1. THEN YOU SHOULD'VE BOUGHT A NEW CAR 4 YEARS AGO Are you never going to change tyres on it? Or brakes?
  2. Buy a car that's £500 less because it hasn't got Rays, then put that money towards a set of Rays. Job's a carrot
  3. Just look further afield. Plenty matching your spec not in Scotland.
  4. But you need to spend at least £35 to get that much off though... I reckon the best thing to buy is the toilet paper, as it's the only thing that won't go off and isn't twice the cost of everything else (the Fairy powder). Bulk buys on that anyone...

    18" Tyre choices

As long as there's no repairs in them, and they look structurally sound, then I see no reason why not to.
  6. No-one's talking about import taxes though. I'm talking about a tax direct on the showroom price, paid for by the end user. If a car is made in the UK it costs you £500 less than a car made abroad, that kind of thing.

If you're happy with the 050As, I'd stick with them. Two rears will be cheaper than a whole new set of budget tyres. 452s are being phased out now anyway (thank god), but have noticeably less grip and feel in all conditions than the 050As. Still better than super cheapy tyres, though. Vredestien Ultrac Sessanta are miles better than the 452s, and are only a fraction more expensive. They're a no-brainer at that end of the market if you do decide to replace all four tyres.
  8. Well that's my chips well and truly p*ssed on
  9. Buying this Alfa to replace a duff Merc is the single most stupidest thing I've ever seen. And yet I love how your brain works mate, this is truly immense
  10. I can't ride a bike, and I have zero clue about them. I still want a big Harley more than anything in the world.
  11. I would suggest reading 10PS' prison diary on PH, and then deciding for yourself if posting about racing other cars on the internet is a good idea. Incidentally, if you'd have phrased the post something like "Saw a Focus ST and R32 whilst out/Went out with my mates in their Focus ST and R32 for a blat, very impressed at how the Zed handled herself" then you'd more than likely have not been picked up on it.
  12. BMW, no contest I'm afraid.
  13. Blimey, that car has been doing the rounds for years now! I could live with the exterior colour, but matching it on the inside is just silly.
  14. A fair punishment, but only if it stops others doing the same. Great race today, Kobayashi had a top result.
  15. I wouldn't say that you kept moving all the time as that could be construed as not having control of the vehicle. What actually happened was that you were waiting for the space to become free, and you were indicating your intention (I assume you were indicating?). Wouldn't worry too much about it either way, if you have independent witnesses then you should be fine. If not then another 3pts for an offence that isn't speeding (assuming the other one was) will make sod all difference to your insurance, maybe another £100 if that. Don't sweat it mate, life's too short to get worried about the little things.
  16. Okay, so I jinxed you after using you as my example then So what's the issue with yours then?
  17. Take the rubber floor out then cut the base of the actual cubby, only needs a tiny slot to fit the power cable through. That's exactly what I did with mine. That way, when it comes to sell the car you just put the rubber mat back in and it covers any slot up
  18. But then once a year you'd be cutting the y-pipe and rewelding it, and then doing it again to put the decats back on. Utterly pointless when you could just get a pair of decats that fit in the first place. The only other alternative that I can see is buying another y-pipe to fit for the MOT.
  19. So what happens now when you need to put the cats back in for the MOT...?
  20. Get a dremel and cut a slot out for the power cable, you can leave that attached to power socket in the pax footwell. It's what I did with my Tomtom, and I wedged it right at the back to minimise glare completely. Well worth doing.
  21. Exactly. Just for clarification, this will NOT fit any UK or JDM Zed. I bought the same unit a few years back
  22. Jeez, that's utterly horrendous then! Do you leave it in 1st all the time?
  23. So I guess a 3.8 with 385bhp and gets 30mpg on low runs would be absolutely out of this world then I'd still say that's average for a thirsty V6 in this day and age. I didn't mean my original comment to sound disparaging, I meant it as a compliment rather than a slight. I'd expect repmobiles to be getting over 40mpg on a run like that, but I'd also expect them to be diesels. Is your FR a petrol then? The twincharged one?
  24. In what sense? Too low or too high?
