  1. Thank god it's not just me that noticed that!
  2. You still might get some, but at least you're doing all you can to give yourself the best shot.
  3. If you never ever ever have any intention of replacing the stock exhaust with anything other than like for like, then I wouldn't bother getting one. However, if you consider yourself any kind of real car person then you MUST get a new exhaust. It's a fact that a 3dB increase in noise is worth at least 17bhp to the butt dyno
  4. And after reading all that (great post btw Rothers), do you still want to disclose everything and not bother with a solicitor?
  5. QFT Our three cars are black, and once I get my new truck we'll have a fleet of all-black vehicles on purpose
  6. I wonder how the conversation in the dealership went? "Hi! I've got £80K to burn on a car, and I want the fastest most powerful one you have!" "Of course sir, step this way. Allow me to introduce you to the GT-R. What colour would you like your £80K, 530bhp turbo nutter barge in?" "Resale grey please."
  7. That's not quite right. They may send you a form asking you what happened, but you are under no obligation to tell them and by doing so you'll only incriminate yourself. If they want to question you, it needs to be under caution at a station and with the option of legal counsel. Doing anything else is utter madness and the quickest way to get major points. What's the worst that can happen if you don't have a solicitor? You cough up to everything, that gets twisted into whatever they like and you end up with 6pts + a massive fine for leaving the scene and DWODCAA. What's the worst that can happen if you have a solicitor? They tell you not to say anything at all and it's up to the police to prove what you did wrong. I have complete respect and faith in our justice system, I really do, but no way in hell would I cough up info freely in something like this. You seem genuinely remorseful and regret what you did, and you've been honest enough on here, so I doubt you're a complete idiot else we'd have all given you hell for it Lesson learnt, why make life harder for yourself?
  8. Actually, I wouldn't be quite so quick to own up. Yes, get your Mum to tell them you were driving, but then wait and see. If you get invited down to the station for a chat, then YOU MUST TAKE A SOLICITOR WITH YOU. This bit is of course optional, but there's no way in hell I'd go down without one.
  9. What was the speed limit in the area? If it was a 30 and you were driving waaay too hard, they may push for a DWODCAA charge. If it was a 50 or 60 you may be okay, and they'll just bill you for the damage assuming you didn't go through the insurance.
  10. Link? I love mine now. I prefer the lighter weight and not I've got a cover on it to give it a bit of protection, I can appreciate what another decent bit of kit Apple have made. I'm now used to the extra screen room, and even I'll admit it's a bit helpful in Safari and when watching films on it. Absolutely the best phone out there for me personally right now.

    Which One

To be honest, this is one question that nobody can answer apart from the OP. You know if you want an auto or manual, that's as basic a decision as coupe or roadster, or petrol or diesel on another car. Things like colour and spec you can debate over, but gearbox selection? Nope, that's far too personal a choice. Drive them both and make your own mind up.

    Which One

    Manual for me I'm afraid.
  13. +1 I have no problem at all with the performance, and I could even live with the functional interior. Why they had to make it look like a cardboard box though is beyond me.
  14. Read my sticky on mixing tyres and make your own mind up I would not recommend mixing tyres on any car, so in answer to your question Wilja then I would match whatever tyres you have at the front.
  15. Been following this for months, I can't wait for the attempt and I just hope that everything goes okay.
  16. I'm pretty sure your confusing my informative yet slightly patronising posts with the various entertaining editorial pieces in the ST. Easily done.
  17. Was this the same copy of the ST that had the detail in about the upcoming Royal wedding?
  18. It's gone back to be approved, happens whenever the OP edits the original post. Give it time for a mod to sort it and it'll be back.
  19. This is a non-story. This is what your insurance is for, they will catch any bill for roadside damage. Tbh I'm glad that the HA do charge for damage caused, else it would come out of the pocket of every taxpayer who can manage not to drive into static objects on a daily basis. With regards to foreign roads being better than ours, they are but they also have a vastly reduced amount of vehicles using them so any wear and tear is much less than what our roads see. If we want better roads, we either need to reduce the amount of vehicles by half or pay more for the privilege. Trouble is, the easiest way to do that is with tolls but mention that and people are up in arms about the idea.
  20. Yes it does. Assuming the LSD isn't a hugely expensive item on the C63, then I'd spec it. It's a big car, and with that much power you'd probably want something to help stop the inside wheel spinning up. Assuming of course you drive it fairly hard on twisty roads or track: If it's just a motorway or straight line machine, then I'd save the cash.
  21. It was a failure before the new rules came in IIRC, probably why it's not mentioned in the new rule updates.
  22. It is a failure, 100%. If you're unsure, just call your local test station.
  23. Is it as described? Is it in budget? Do you think the price is fair? Do you want to get a proper inspection done first?
  24. Sweet Jesus, that looks amazing!
