  1. I hope no one on here ever has kids that fall into the wrong crowd and need help. I get the anger, I really do, and I’m not saying for one second come home all is forgiven as she clearly wants more than just a cuddle from mum. At the same time she was just a child when all this happened, and really that’s exactly what she is still. There would be no harm in having a conversation with her and seeing what’s what.
  2. And what Trump does should be used as a basis for the correct decision?
  3. To write off an entire country's worth of cars as boring simply because they happen to be designed (& usually manufactured) in said country is like saying you'll never go near women/men again after one dull date. I mean, unless you suddenly realise you're gay and that's why it was boring of course...
  4. Stops you whacking the boost up and chasing power, and giving yourself more headaches. Look for something different, something you've not tried before, rather than just repeating what you've already done
  5. ^^^ That. I'd say you want something that only requires minor tinkering, so basically nothing with a turbo or nothing that's going to get a turbo!
  6. Don’t be daft, you’d easily fit! I was near enough 18st of fat when I owned my VXR220, you’d be more than comfy enough. Plus you’re unlikely to lose a single penny, and there’s nothing to touch one for the experience even if you hate it.
  7. I wouldn’t run round the passenger side either I’d reach over and grab it from the footwell, assuming you have it mounted up near the seat like you should do. That said, I used to have an extinguisher in my cars before I realised that if the car was on fire I simply didn’t want to be anywhere near it, and that’s why I have insurance. These days I tend to view it that if you’re that worried about a fire, then you either install a properly plumbed in system or you do nothing at all. Safety before all else, and most extinguishers are too small to deal with anything other than the weediest of cigarette smouldering carpet fires, and definitely wouldn’t be any good in a proper fire. Each to their own though, I’m sure I’ll regret saying that when my car is burning down...
  8. No way you’d have time or really want to grab that from the boot side, surely?! I actually hadn’t clocked it was attached to the rear strut brace though, if I’m honest.
  9. Why mount the extinguisher behind you? It would be better placed on the pax side floor so you can get at it quickly, as trying to reach behind you in a panic whilst trying to get belts off as you see flames licking up the windscreen isn’t going to end well Plus on a safety side, how is it secured? It looks well strapped down to me (which is good, as it won’t come loose in an accident and smash you in the head) but then how easy is it to take it out quickly? Good thread though, keep it coming
  10. Are you guys blind?! That's utterly horrific and makes the Supra look like a Dino!! Actually it even makes the CTR look good, and that's not something I thought possible.
  11. Shock news, TT fans give another TT a good review
  12. Go on, why not Waxoyl? What’s wrong with it compared with others? Genuine question, I didn’t know there were better alternatives now.

    Advice on tyres

I ran 225/40 and 245/40 on my old car with zero issues, and I would say that 90% of people running those sizes have no problems either. That said, there are some that do seem to have over-sensitive TCS in their cars, but as a general rule I’d say go for those instead if it saves a few quid.

Definitely, those touring wheels are stupidly heavy. Bin them off for a set of Rays asap, you'll notice the difference immediately.

Well then you don't need winter tyres, IMHO. I'd always go 18"s over 20"s, purely for the weight saving which will make you much quicker than anything short of a dirty great turbo. Plus cheaper tyres and better ride comfort too!
  17. I think you may well find I did plenty of all of those! Many a trip to Anglesea for trackdays, and of course going to Wales always involves rain (but the roof only leaked if you put it on from the driver side, do it from the pax side first and it was fine!), and I did discover that the wiring for the front lights was done in two different colours when trying to add HIDs. Typical Lotus! Loved it though, from sitting in those gorgeous bucket seats to after I had it mapped and there was no such thing as an overtaking space too small. Amazing car.

    Advice on tyres

Honestly, if you've never needed them then don't start now. If you constantly get stuck in the snow or terrified because you aquaplane often, then it's either time to consider changing tyres, vehicles or driving styles
  19. I had a VXR220 before my 350Z. Apart from the awful stereo and the freezing of the windscreen inside in the winter, it was a better car in every way than the 350Z. Doesn't mean I regret the change at all: Sometimes a car can be worse but better for you at that point in life. My recent change has seen me go from 4.4L V8 with 333bhp to 2.0L I4 and 160bhp, but I'm still having fun: It's just different.

Have you survived perfectly fine without winter tyres for the last X years of driving? if so, why bother changing?
  21. That carbon door garnish is utterly vile.
