  1. Because right now Brexit will affect us all more dramatically in the near future than anything else. It’s critical, and I think that it’s only maybe in the last few months that it’s starting to sink in with the population.
  2. Don't have a dash cam in the MX-5 sadly. God bless the little car though when it's pouring with rain, I slowed to 30mph and whacked the manual roof up quickly to stop getting wet: Mark had to stop the Lambo, put the brakes on and wait like a berk as the auto roof did its thing in about 15 secs He got drenched!
  3. All about the driver tbh, and on UK roads it really doesn't make much of a difference if you're in a 160bhp MX5 or a 500bhp Gallardo: Just ask my best mate from our Wales trip the other weekend... On a twisty track like they used above, there's never going to be much in it. Buy a car because it's fun and you want it, not because you win a p*ssing contest over which is faster.
  4. Apparently this was the one time when even budget rubber would've done the job!
  5. I don't get Corbyn's speech today. He's said that he'll sort Brexit out in 6 months because he'll get a new deal (!) and everyone will agree to it because they'll do a referendum. So let me get this straight: We had a referendum, people voted out. We had a deal. No-one wanted it. We had another deal. No-one wanted that either. So now he's going to magic up another deal, and assuming parliament all say yes to it (AHAHAHAHAHA) then that goes to a referendum. Is he for real? It would need a massive Labour swing to get something like that done, and that's not remotely likely, so we'd be back to arguing the toss again for another few years. As for Labour's other plans, they're full of bright and bushy ideas (many of which I'm for) paid for by magic money tree again (which I'm not). Corbyn still won't even say whether he'd back Leave or Remain on this new deal he's going to get, nor whether there will be an option for No Deal Brexit on it. It's all so shady, and quite simply he's missing the point of this election by some margin. Hell, at least the LDs are planting their flag firmly in the ground on the matter.
  6. She's being induced tomorrow, so I'll be a dad by the end of the week Going to remember the potato in a blanket line as well
  7. That’s what a good few years of chassis development will do.
  8. It’s sexy, but I’ve never driven one. I’d love to though!
  9. Good shout actually, I can’t see there being a convertible either sadly.
  10. I’d be okay with them using the auto boxes from Merc, they’re decent units. Still not what I’d buy personally, but the market would prefer them so it would have a better chance of succeeding I think. A45 isn’t a competitor, but the A35 certainly is along with the Cayman, A110, TT, Golf R etc. It’s a full segment to be sure, and as PH said it would need to be more than just characterful for it to be a reasonable choice for many.
  11. My worry is there’s no market for one. The 370Z didn’t sell well despite being unique considering the competition. People these days want auto and 4WD, for me that’s not a Zed. Have they ever mated the 3L turbo to a manual ‘box? Assuming they did do another one that was all of the above, at what price would it come in at? And would anyone buy it over the competition of Audis and BMWs?
  12. Read the sticky about mixing tyres and make your own mind up. I wouldn’t mix tyres at all given a preference.
  13. A lot of people feel that their next car has to be an upgrade in some way: faster, more powerful, more exclusive etc. Sometimes all you need is something different, and that’s enough. I went from a VXR220 to the 350Z, by the book that’s a step down but I just wanted something I’d never tried before. I went from the 911 to the 645, again a step down but it was so different it was brilliant. Now I’m in an MX5 NC and it might just be the second best car I’ve ever owned, behind the Porker.
  14. Who knows what next year will bring mate, must admit it would be good to catch up with you lot again

    Tyre wear

Yes, get a proper alignment. And check you’ve not snapped a spring that side too.
  16. But why? And would it be that big power, considering what a decent manual TT costs these days now?
  17. He’s been saying it for years. It’s nonsense stuff just to keep interest in the brand.
  18. They’ve been saying that for the last five years. It’s ain’t gonna happen. Well, the GT-R will. But the Zed is dead.
  19. Get someone who can actually do an alignment would be my advice. Both of those after measurements are a mile out, no reason they shouldn’t be equal either side if you’ve had new parts put on tbh. Also bear in mind that every road in the UK cambers slightly to the left anyway for drainage purposes, you can test this by driving on the other side of the road and letting go, see if the car drifts right then.
  20. I’ve not tried the F1SS, but the previous gen F1s were awful in the wet on an Impreza going from RE070 semi slicks to them, which surprised the hell out of me. Went back to the 070s really quickly after that! FWIW I’ve not had any issues on the MPS4 all weekend in soggy Wales, and that was on a hoon when they were being pushed and are 12000 miles old. Stunning things.
