  1. So they need to make a car with an engine mated to a manual ‘box (where that engine currently isn’t offered with one that I know of if we’re hoping for the V6 twin Turbo Infiniti lump, happy to be proved wrong mind you) and for a price of about £40-43k. I cannot see it happening. Ever. Auto maybe, but still it’s pie in the sky and nothing more than wishful thinking.
  2. Met him once, such a down to earth chap willing to talk about anything to do with cars and racing to absolute strangers. Will be sadly missed.
  3. That looks really smart, nice job mate
  4. Bet the beaches are packed today. Me, I’ll be sat in the garden reading my kindle drinking pink wine, because I’m such a man.

I may well trust him, but his site is shockingly bad as it let’s complete idiots post reviews of tyres too and most are either just saying how wonderful a tyre is because they spent money on it, or how crap one is because it does what it’s designed to do (review of a MPSC2: “Pricey and really not worth the money.6 months and 20,000 kilometres and they are finished.Interesting I had equal wear over all 4 tires without rotation. Not so sure footed in the wet or in cold weather. Noisey, actually very noisy tires especially when wearing low to 4mm down to 2mm tree depth.10% increase in fuel consumption driving the same roads I have driven, same vehicle with previous tires that lasted 45,000 kilometres. No real sense of better anything really”. and that’s on a Ford Falcon Ute ffs! I mean what did they expect?!)

And I’ve already said before that my opinion differs from everyone else’s on the F1s of days gone by, so I’m not sure what point it is you’re trying to make? I’ve never said that my word on the subject is the definitive one, only that I pass my experience on in the hope it may guide folks. I’ve found all that I’ve tried to be a bit rubbish in terms of wet grip and certainly feel, but I do appreciate that’s not borne out by testing. Honestly, I can’t explain it. All I know is that they felt like they were trying to kill me, and that was on 4WD cars. Maybe they’re different on 2WD, I don’t know. It’s very odd.
  7. Manual? No chance, it would be auto only as per the usage in other applications I strongly suspect.

Were the old Eagle F1s not their equivalent of the old MPSS? And of course, you should always take the advice of an expert over one guy on an Internet forum. Just my thoughts on it, nothing else.
  9. Pretty sure the police pay tax.
  10. And that’s the key, at what price all that engineering? Who’s going to buy a £50k 370, when they could get a Supra?

Not really, I’m going off personal previous experiences of their previous tyres of the same ilk. I think I said that everyone else finds them good in the wet, yet I found the feel and grip to be dreadful. That was across multiple years of F1s, so I don’t expect that to have radically changed. Seems fair enough to me, but I’m happy to try them and see if that’s still the case. Turtlewax is still sh*t though
  12. This makes me feel like I’m losing my edge and getting old

Oh I know, but there have been many different revisions of the F1s and they’ve all been consistent in the wet handling IMHO that I wouldn’t expect Goodyear to suddenly throw all that away and go in a different direction.

Yup, I want the best regardless Actually I probably wouldn’t, as many have rated the F1s of days gone by as great in the wet when I found them to be the exact opposite. Still, I’d happily try some just for fun.

Seen it, @StevoD tagged me in it the other day. Great to have more competition in the sector
  16. Try 143mph (230kph), which should be enough for most I would think!
  17. My mental health is fine right now, if you can count walking around the wing singing “MYYYYY CORONA!” very loudly as fine.
  18. @DoogyRev used to, got made redundant in 2017 and have been a PO since early 2018. Yup some of them are seriously odd, also met a few people that everyone on here would’ve heard of too! Love the job though, every bit of it and wouldn’t ever dream of doing anything else. If one more person asks me for a toilet roll or vapes though...!
  19. I’m a prison officer at a large Cat C establishment in the London catchment area, so I’m still going to work as normal obviously. As the other half is in the very high risk category (pregnant with a heart condition) I’m confined to working the cleaner D Cat units, but that doesn’t make me safe at all. I just get on with it and deal with it as normal, doesn’t mean I’m not terrified for the life of my unborn child.
  20. I can’t see my daughter for the foreseeable future now. That really does suck
  21. Wonder if it could be used as a new sub-Nismo range? So you’d get a Pulsar, a Pulsar Z then a Pulsar Nismo, in order of power and price.
  22. Not quite the same. Very similar, but not identical, plus this is a new trademark for Nee-sahn.
