  1. Great colour? It’s white! I’m sure it’s pretty up close but it’s still just a white.
  2. It has a Failside kit, so that automatically disqualifies it. And the Japspeed exhaust isn’t exactly a winner either.
  3. If you can get underneath easy enough (can do it with axle stands or ramps at a push) and have a copious amount of Plusgas, breaker bars and possible a dremel handy, then it’s dead easy. Just a few bolts to undo and gaskets to slip in.
  4. It’s a good point, who knows what will be out in three years time? Refresh of the Supra will almost be here if not already, most likely a new TT, def a new Cayman, plus the usual Golf R/1-series/A-class contenders that dominate this price point now. A 400Z would have to be incredible to be a sales success, and even that guarantees nothing (Alpine says hello). Not saying it won’t be of course, we know Nissan can do great cars when they want to.
  5. I think the auto rags get their info from the same bloke that makes up Dear Deidre every day. In fact I’m sure of it.
  6. I’d be happy if it looked like that.
  7. And if any car doesn’t need it, it’s the LFA unless it’s so deathly quiet in the cabin without it. Which also makes me sad, as that’s a proper sports coupe.
  8. Given the spec, this is a bargain for someone. I’ve seen this car in action, it does exactly what it says on the tin and it’s a very fair advert.
  9. Might be just where you live mate, I’m in a pretty large town in Suffolk but even travelling the main A roads to Cambridge I get naff all reception on Dab and that’s in the BMW with OEM integration.
  10. He cannot tell us what year it will come, for a car that’s already been shown (albeit in shadow)? Way to inspire confidence, Nissan
  11. I know they fit, but I had a 2 door Astra before hand and whilst you make it work, a 4 door is a billion times easier
  12. Not sure what baby seat setup you have, but I find having four doors an absolute godsend. For ferrying kids around, I don’t think I’d go 2 door coupe tbh so that’s worth thinking about too. Rules out the 4 series but obvs there’s always the 3, or many others too.
  13. No good for a baby, you won’t get a pushchair in the nose without a hacksaw. But when they’re out of one, then 100% but go 997 instead
  14. Huge gobs of power I can live with, suspension that jerks you over the place when you apply that power gradually less so! It was anything but safe, especially in the conditions I drove it in. On a lovely summer day I’m sure it’s fine, but in mixed conditions it was shocking, and ESP can’t ever beat the laws of physics the M135i I drove straight after taking the M3 back was absolutely fine, and it’s not like that’s lacking shove either.
  15. Well worth doing, as despite being a firm fan of big power RWD coupes i found the M4/3 to be horrible (early ones are least). The suspension is dreadful, leading to the car wanting to kill you rather than thrill you. They gave me one for a whole day, and I still took it back early because it was scary in damp/drying conditions. I hear this has been improved in later cars and esp the Comp/CS editions, but make sure you drive the age of the car you’ll be buying. Under power on the exit of an average bend and only being driven at about 6/10ths... Nope.
  16. Have you driven an M4 yet?
  17. But £20k for a GT-T??? Man I know they’re good looking, but that seems daft.
  18. What about a Mustang? Although fuel economy not so great, but a great GT car that can be pushed when when on your own.
  19. E92 M3, you can get a very good manual one for that and they’re only going one way in value. Plus V8!
  20. Well I wouldn’t get a diesel if it’s replacing a fun car, for a start. Tbh I’m not sure I’d look past a BMW either, plenty of choice there. Without judging, ignore the 4wd thing as if you’re driving that hard to get the back out with a kid in the car, you’re driving way too fast. Audis are nicer places to be and I prefer the styling, but they don’t drive anywhere near as well. Personally I would consider splitting the budget, £10k on a boring family car (520d F11 is my current one) and then £17k on something fun, that way you get the best of both worlds? Considered a 6er? Big car but very plush and they can be hustled, cheap too now the 8er is out.
  21. Maybe that’s why the Germans make a fortune but Nissan struggle. Options have always been a big part of buying a German car, whereas most Jap buyers want to buy non-OEM bits. Just the culture I guess.
  22. About $600 according to one advert from the states a quick google turned up.
  23. You may well need inserts, cheap and easy to fit though.
  24. Ironically I went from an MR2 to the VXR220! def the right call there, as good as an MR2 is it’s inferior in every way to an S1.
  25. I went from a VXR220 to a 350Z, very different cars but that’s a good thing as you don’t spend an age contrasting them and wondering if you made a mistake. Good luck in your search, def HR and not silver is the way to go
