  1. Finally, a sensibly priced alternative to Vmax! How was the day run? Anything interesting there? Shelter/grub available? Marshals and first aid on hand?
  2. But hands up, at £45k who would put their money on the table and buy one of these? For fairness, let’s add a PCP monthly of £550 based on a £7k deposit and a future value of £22.5k (50%, standard) after three years and a total purchase cost of £50k allowing for the interest. Play with those figures if you have a bigger deposit if you like, I’ve no issue with that.
  3. Convert them to electric specialists, job done.
  4. Ultimately, who cares? It’s worth what it’s worth, sod worrying about it, drive the arse off it and get your value that way. It’s not a classic Ferrari so you can actually do that and be damned with the rest. Unless of course you or someone else write it off. Then it’s worth much less.
  5. Yes, massive opportunity to sell parts to the four people who would actually buy an imported £50k+ ZP.
  6. They’ll drop then level out somewhere. Plummet no, slow decline yes.
  7. Good point. Looking at the cost of the GT86, it’s about 10% cheaper in Japan than here. Assume a UK price for the ZP of £45k puts the cost in Japan at £40k ish, plus 22% and you’re looking at a £50k car purchase price. Plus import duty plus SVA mods plus registration plus shipping... Ouch. A very rare sight over here indeed.
  8. Welcome along Car looks very sensibly modified, I like that and I’m a fussy git
  9. I’m 40 and I couldn’t give a toss about anything before the 350Z if I’m honest. 300ZX is okay in certain configs, but anything earlier does nothing for me.
  10. It’s the launch colour of the 240, apparently. It says it’s a pearl effect in person so probably quite nice, dreadful in photos though!
  11. How much is an SVA these days? I mean there’s the costs of the conversion as well so call it a grand for sorting out the lights and bits, but probably peanuts compared to the purchase and importing costs.
  12. I also think the Alpine is butt ugly, but I know I’m in the minority.
  13. It is official, every UK journo received the same email. AC, TG, PH, all reporting the exact same thing. It ain’t coming here. And I do feel that’s a shame. It may not be to my taste, but we’re supposed to be a global market for all now and any time a sports car isn’t available everywhere sets a very bad precedent.
  14. But they are in the same field. 2 seater or 2+2, sporty designs, turbo engines, great to drive for fun or as a daily. Price is near as dammit the same, and as I’ve said before it’s the residuals and thus the monthlies that’s make them such tempting propositions. £45k-£55k is where we all suspect the ZP would sit anyway, so it’s got some really tough competition. You’re right, there is a market for the ZP, but it’s a tiny one. Even the Alpine is being withdrawn for poor sales, and that’s universally adored. Btw, if you’ve never driven a hot 2 series you really should. They’re amazing.
  15. Market is bare? It’s fuller than it’s ever been: M240, Cayman, A110, Mustang, Supra and the venerable TT. In terms of drive alone I would expect the ZP to be better than only the TT out of that bunch. That’s a tough sell. And that’s before we get to the mega hatches that the world and his wife seem to want these days. I can see why Nissan won’t bring it here.
  16. Thank god for that, it looks like a CH-R.
  17. From Autocar: ”However, there’s bad news for the UK and mainland Europe: the as-yet-unnamed new model won’t be offered for sale here. In a statement sent to Autocar, Nissan cited a “shrinking European sports car market and specific regulations on emissions” as the reasons why it was “unable to build a viable business case” for the car’s European release” Oh well.
  18. Just noticed the bronze wheels. Nice.
  19. I’m sure he’s a clever chap, wrong guy for this though. Also, what’s with that stupid Z badge on the rear 3/4???
  20. That Jap guy is useless btw, I can barely understand him and I think the presenter feels the same. Zero mention of an auto so far, I am impressed.
  21. Won’t the rear lights on the UK cars have to have orange clusters somewhere for the indicators? Or be orange leds at least.
  22. Are those not stock 350 seats? Been a while since I’ve seen them tbh.
  23. https://www.caranddriver.com/photos/g33970241/nissan-z-proto-revealed-gallery/ Pics there btw.
