  1. I quite liked the fact that all the team were just bundled round a house watching the TV in the kitchen, and they went properly mental when the final whistle blew. It looked more like the celebrations you get when a pub team wins, rather than when you see Citys and Utds of the world win a title
  2. Ignoring the cost aspect, and I do appreciate that steering wheels can look quite different in the flesh, but to my eyes that's not an acceptable level of quality. Compare it with CS2000's wheel and it's night and day in terms of finish.
  3. Different era though, that's my point. That was back when clubs could come up and have a title shot, not the current era of the moneybags where it's billions to buy a football club and players are making £300K a week. Let's not forget Cloughie was the first manager to pay £1M for a player either, so hardly working on a budget I have a massive admiration for Brian, and he's ten times the manager that Ranieri is, but as an achievement I do rate this above what Forest did. Just my own thoughts, I don't support either club.
  4. Glad to hear it's working well for you
  5. Greatest story in football ever. Clough's Forest is a close second, but that was a different era. This is utter magic, and a story you wouldn't dare to write. Can only be topped by Vardy scoring a 90th minute winner for England against Germany in the final of Euro '16 this summer.
  6. Your view of the Cayman is tainted by the fact you bought a lemon without doing any checks though, you have to admit. The engine issues are well documented and easy to keep an eye out for, and don't affect anywhere near as many cars as the internet suggests. That said, clearly the M96/M97 isn't perfect as Niki says OP, if you considered the Pug, any thoughts on a decent hot hatch? Golf, Megane, Leon? Not sure on your budget, but if we're assuming around £20K (including some mods) and you like Jap stuff then a GT86 with forced induction would be an incredible choice of car. Ultimately not as rewarding as the Cayman nor as quick as the TTRS, but certainly a dramatic enough car and plenty of things to do to it for a smaller budget than the Germans.
  7. People are idiots, sadly. That said, the Gumball itself shouldn't exist any more. It's long since lost the charm of old, and tbh I've no idea why the police don't just follow the route and grab some very easy collars.
  8. If the engine goes pop, I agree. That's a much bigger cost than £1K tops for a Nissan V6. However, pretty much everything else (like for like) is the same on both cars. I ran a 997 for 4 years and it cost me the same as the 350, and given the similarities between the 997 and the 987 it's not an unreasonable comparison.

    OH HAI THERE
  10. Servicing and running costs on a 987 are identical to the 350, much less the 370. You're paying a premium for better car, as well as the badge. All this said, I'd be tempted by the TTRS these days. With a manual 'box though!
  11. TT is a design classic, GTR is a box. Agreed about the tuning potential though. The TTRS is monstrously quick though, and that 5-cyl soundtrack
  12. GTR may grab the attention more, but the TT is a much better design. And that's before you get to the interior...
  13. So? I don't get this desire to conform to someone else's viewpoint. It's your money you're spending, not theirs!
  14. Bah, feeble excuses! Apart from the beer. That's perfectly reasonable.
  15. It doesn't, just AppRadio. You're very limited as to what it can do. http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/Car/DVD-Receivers/AVH-X1500DVD
  16. Does the unit have CarPlay?
  17. Just going to Hull in the first place is bad enough
  18. The Cayman is the best car there for your purposes by some margin. Pug is a FWD scrabble wagon, TTRS monstrously quick but not hugely involving, 370 beaten for pace and handling by both VAG cars, Cayman has delicacy plus throttle response plus mid engined. If you don't want the Porker, get the TT. Give it a light remap and it'll leave GTRs for dust.
  19. Grab some photos before you remove anything, definitely. Call your insurance and do it through them, zero point you spending a penny on it. She went into you, it couldn't be any easier for them to prove liability in this case.
  20. Very likely. The rear bumper will pop back out, leaving everything damaged underneath despite it looking fine. Please tell me they stopped, and you got details and photos...
