Bored today are we, matey?

But how does the issue get solved if we don't work together? Is it really fair for us to turn around and say "No, we're not taking anyone, sort it out yourselves" rather than compromise? Merkel made a grave error letting so many in at once, she'll pay for that come election time. It needs to be fairly staggered across the EU.

I think it's pitiful that Corbyn and Sturgeon have kept their heads so far below the parapet. They want the same thing that CMD does, yet they're not brave enough to actually be out there day after day campaigning for it just in case they lose? And people think they're strong, decent leaders. Actually scratch that, no-one ever said that about Corbyn. Boris is highly intelligent and normally I'm with him 100%, but not on this. I've found both sides to be pretty duff really: The Stay lot are too quiet and not actually listening to the concerns of the people (don't even get me started on CMD's nonsense about there being war in the EU if we leave from yesterday!), and the Leave gang are just shouting the same overblown nonsense again and again. Both sides are so negative, it's painful.

Not convinced I'd take one over a fettled S2 Elise SC, but then that might just be because I love the 2ZZ. Aside from that, just about the most perfect 4th* car I can imagine owning. *Not as in the number of cars owned, as in the fact it's essentially useless apart from weekend blats. Unless you're proper hardcore, of course!

Thank god it hadn't gone to a numpty! Now go put the stickers back on, so it can go back to being my favourite Zed again

Brilliant news, even if he's no longer in one piece

Trouble is, if those eBay ones are no good you're either binning them or shipping them back to Poland. Have to say, the advert doesn't inspire confidence.

Standard R34's are going for more than that let alone display models of iconic tuning companies! And they're a ripoff too
-
£30k sure, but twice that? Crazy money. Does look good though.

Agreed, it's not a fix, but it is a start.

It's an obvious one, but making plans is a good way forward. Take each problem at a time, and work out a way to improve it. If you want a relationship, get on Match.com and meet as many people as you can. If it's general loneliness, get to as many social events for your hobby as you can. If it's guilt over mistakes, work out what you did wrong and then plan to never do the same thing again. I know that's all really basic and easy to write down, but it's helped me in the past when I've had some darker times.

I tend to agree. The turbo in your car, is it water cooled? If it's water cooled then you need a much shorter cooldown period than if it's not, however I personally treat the turbo the same way I treat any engine. That is, I wouldn't rag the arse off it then suddenly switch the engine off and let the thing heat soak itself to death. No need to let it idle, that's actually worse as you have zero airflow movement, just take it gently for the last couple of mins before you stop after thrashing it. If you've only popped to the shops and not really put any load on anything then I wouldn't even bother with that.

And with that, I withdraw from this thread. Hopefully the OP has enough info to make his decision, and I genuinely wish him the best of luck with his search.

Mate, you brought the money thing up, not me. Don't start getting huffy about it now. Where have I ever said anything about driving a modified 370? All my comments ever have been about ones I've actually driven, which have been stock. I have no doubt you have more knowledge about modified ones than me, but stop trying to put words in my mouth and claim I've ever said otherwise. I'm sorry that you couldn't keep all the cars you wanted as the missus put her foot down, and I know you loved your 370. I know most owners do love their 370s, and that's great, but my experiences of them are just as valid as anyone else's. In the world of cars, you could do a lot worse than a 370. I'd rather have one over, say, a TTS or a 330i. However, for the kind of money we're talking about there are better cars out there. They may not suit everyone, but that shouldn't detract from them.

Beautiful cars, proper Italian GT at it's finest If only they came with a manual or proper dual clutch 'box. The auto is a bit dim-witted, and the automated-manual one is harsh as heck around town. I'd still have one though, a 4.7L in dark blue with biscuit interior please!

I wanted pedal extensions too, but they wouldn't fit when I wear my white stilletos
-
Oi, I ran those cheap and horrible harnesses in the MX5, they were perfect!
-
I had some TRD ones on my first MR2
-
So when you actually have them on the belt, the Z will look like an N? Well that's just genius design
-
Still love that pic of my old one. Taken outside the church in Le Mans town.

You've moved up a wheel size, so you've got less tyre sidewall to soak up the lumps and bumps in the road. It sounds to me like you're describing what naturally happens when you increase wheel size, rather than anything actually wrong. A decent alignment should be able to give you high speed stability back, at the cost of turn-in. You should get an alignment done at least once a year, or 6 months if you travel on bad roads often.

Enthusiasm I get, absolutely. I'd expect comments like "Yeah, the exhaust does sound rubbish, but I put a Cobra on and now it's ace" which makes perfect sense, or "I think the TTRS doesn't look special enough, and the 370 stands out more" which is bang-on. I understand some do like the interior, which is arguably the biggest sticking point and massively subjective. But that's okay, different opinions. If people want to back up their views that's fine, I'm all for a bit of reasoned debate. What I don't expect is to be insulted because I happen to be able to afford nice things which I work bloody hard for. Or just because I have an opinion which I've stuck to consistently. Someone else was picked on by a couple of members the other week (I was one of them!), and that was considered to be a something the Team felt they should look into. Anybody want to tell me how this is any different? If the OP wants to ignore me, then that's his prerogative. What I don't expect is to be told that I shouldn't be allowed to pass reasoned, sensible counterpoint views in an open thread asking for advice.

I could never get bored of listening to that. The best driver and the best lap.

+1 on the S30+, I wouldn't be without it in my kit.

Heaven forbid I should have an opinion, eh? The OP asked for some, I gave him mine. No, I've never driven a modified 370Z. Yes, I'm sure there's plenty you can do to it. No, I still think the 370 interior is a design mess, and the quality of the switchgear not what it should be for a £30K car. Given that a sizeable amount of 370 owners say they bought it because it's not a common sight, I don't see that as an unfair comment. The engine is routinely noted as not sounding special by owners themselves, the ride isn't as good as it should be, it's not as quick as the 987CS nor the TTRS, and neither does it handle as well. Are you seriously going to argue those points?! Last time I looked Colin you were driving a £40K car, and I'm in a £6.5K one. If you want to throw the money argument around, then try looking a bit closer to home, eh? Besides, we're talking about cars that cost the same here. The Germans will be older and leggier, but the price will be the same. Truth is no, I don't rate the 370 very much. The outside looks stunning, I don't like the mix of analogue and digital inside, and I don't think it's very exciting to drive for the money. So what? Everyone thinks the 6er is an ugly car, the 911 looks like a Beetle, the VX220 is a poor man's Lotus, and the MR2 a hairdresser's car. And you know what, they're right. Given I already said to the OP that it was the right car for him, I'm not sure what else you expect me to do. Lie? Tell everyone I think that the 370 is the best car in the history of the world, faster than a P1, nicer inside than an F-type, better steering than an Elise? Or just maybe I can offer a different viewpoint for a fellow enthusiast.
