  1. Don’t confuse fun car with practical car
  2. Profile is based on the width, so if you go bigger profile you must reduce the width to keep the aspect the same.
  3. Who are you again? Good to see you back on here fella, now get that rust bucket up and running!
  4. And that my good sir, is exactly why an NA engine is brilliant and will never be beaten by anything with a turbo.
  5. I always park next to nice cars, because I know that they will take care opening doors. They may not ever know that I’m a car guy too so I’m actually doing them a favour by parking next to them, but that’s okay.
  6. Only guarantee I’d ever make is a second hand set of OEM cats. Every other solution runs the risk of CEL and/or failing MOT, and at that point you might as well get the only thing that will definitely work.
  7. When I’m sliding backwards into a hedge, I’m always grateful that at least my tyres look pretty whilst doing so.
  8. But its a diesel. It could have 800bhp and 1600ftlb and I still wouldn’t want it
  9. Totally agree on it needing to be competitive power-wise to actually make it a viable competitor to the rivals for the inevitable pub table p*ssing contest, I just find it weird that people are desperate to know the power side before really committing to it. It’s not like a DE 350 is exactly sluggish with just 276 to play with.
  10. I don’t this obsession with power. Unless you’re tracking it regularly it’s useless, and even then you watch on track how even an old 111R Elise sails past the big guys with billions of horsepower. Trust me, even just 160bhp is plenty enough for the roads if driven properly when the car only weighs a ton. I have zero problems keeping up or even leaving behind (at points) a 500bhp Lambo, and I know the skill level of the driver very well. It’s all about how you use it, not how hard you can bury the pedal into the carpet on a motorway slip road.
  11. Like I always read everything, it’s like you don’t know me at all mate.
  12. Figures, that was always one of the best bits about Vmax though, running in pairs esp when the cars were miles apart in pace how many runs did you manage to get?
  13. Sounds excellent, I might have to have a look at that do you run solo or two at a time?
  14. Finally, a sensibly priced alternative to Vmax! How was the day run? Anything interesting there? Shelter/grub available? Marshals and first aid on hand?
  15. But hands up, at £45k who would put their money on the table and buy one of these? For fairness, let’s add a PCP monthly of £550 based on a £7k deposit and a future value of £22.5k (50%, standard) after three years and a total purchase cost of £50k allowing for the interest. Play with those figures if you have a bigger deposit if you like, I’ve no issue with that.
  16. Convert them to electric specialists, job done.
  17. Ultimately, who cares? It’s worth what it’s worth, sod worrying about it, drive the arse off it and get your value that way. It’s not a classic Ferrari so you can actually do that and be damned with the rest. Unless of course you or someone else write it off. Then it’s worth much less.
  18. Yes, massive opportunity to sell parts to the four people who would actually buy an imported £50k+ ZP.
  19. They’ll drop then level out somewhere. Plummet no, slow decline yes.
  20. Good point. Looking at the cost of the GT86, it’s about 10% cheaper in Japan than here. Assume a UK price for the ZP of £45k puts the cost in Japan at £40k ish, plus 22% and you’re looking at a £50k car purchase price. Plus import duty plus SVA mods plus registration plus shipping... Ouch. A very rare sight over here indeed.
  21. Welcome along Car looks very sensibly modified, I like that and I’m a fussy git
  22. I’m 40 and I couldn’t give a toss about anything before the 350Z if I’m honest. 300ZX is okay in certain configs, but anything earlier does nothing for me.
  23. It’s the launch colour of the 240, apparently. It says it’s a pearl effect in person so probably quite nice, dreadful in photos though!
  24. How much is an SVA these days? I mean there’s the costs of the conversion as well so call it a grand for sorting out the lights and bits, but probably peanuts compared to the purchase and importing costs.
