  1. What I mean is, to even cover overheads plus materials is going to get close to that, never mind paying for labour and making a profit on top especially in the South. Realistically you need to be at least doubling that budget for a decent job.
  2. You'll be lucky for that budget, tbh.
  3. I want a couple more kittens at some point, preferably brother and sister. Lexi needs some company as Zelly is just a bit too old to play that roughly with her.
  4. Nico had the right to close the door, but he did it far too quickly and aggressively. He clearly didn't see Lewis until too late, so made a desperate swing across the track to block him. If he'd done it a bit slower Lewis would've had to back off, and would've had the time to do so.
  5. Don't forget, your target is the train co, not DPD
  6. I like Seb's whinging
  7. You don't. As DPD said, their contract is with the train company, they do not owe you a duty of care. You cannot claim against them. Really, one of two things went wrong here: 1. The train company didn't inform DPD that the contents were high-value, and needed extra insurance. 2. You didn't make it clear enough to the train company of the value of the item, and didn't check the postage covered the item for the value rather than the weight. What can you do? Practically, not a lot. You can have a go at the train company for not telling you that you needed extra cover and had to pay more, or that they should've realised and informed you, but ultimately unless you can prove you told them how valuable it was then you're out of luck. There's also no proof it was working before you got it, and as it's your own item they've sent you there's no recourse there. I'd write a strongly worded letter asking them how they intend to rectify the situation, but ultimately they don't have to do anything I'm afraid.
  8. Make no mistake, if that had been a Merc and a Ferrari or a Merc and a Red Bull, then the stewards would've handed out penalties for sure. As it was just Merc that suffered, they basically let them deal with it internally.
  9. No, now he gets to be paranoid over excess oil usage instead Don't feel too bad fella, as long as you didn't pay HR money for it then you've still got a cracking car there and in a stunning colour too.
  10. By which point you'd better make sure that they're the guys you want doing the engine replacement, as otherwise you've got a car with no engine you need to get transported so +++ costs.
  11. That is amazing, great stuff Pete
  12. If he's not prepared to take a wheel off to change a battery, then I suspect he's hiding more than a dodgy alternator. I'd have walked too.
  13. How hard can it be to pop to Halfords and buy a new one?! Sucks man
  14. 305/30/19 is a standard GT3 size, so should be plenty of those available. If it's only for track then I wouldn't worry about rolling radiuseses and TCS stuff, as you'll have all that off anyway.
  15. No worse than people putting GT-R wheels on their Zeds.
  16. BUY IT BUY IT BUY IT Just do what I do and buy the first car you see, raises the excitement level
  17. I think he means Jack from Royal Steering Wheels, so just a recovered one. Tbh Lloyd it'll be cheaper and easier just to send yours off to Jack to get him to do it.
  18. Get new engine fitted, chuck the cost on a 12mth 0% card, worry about it later? At least you'd get the car up and running. If it's your only car, it's going to cost you at least £2K in selling it on and then buying a new one, so you wouldn't actually be any better off.
  19. ^^^ Absolutely that. Leave the PCV in.
  20. In the grand scheme of things I'd take a more pragmatic approach, especially considering the police don't exactly have a lot of spare time right now. Call 101 and report it. You have enough detail there, you can say that footage is available if they want it. Ask that someone pops round and has a chat with the guy instead. They may well put the fear of god into him, plus see the state of his car and then advise him not to drive until fixed. For some people, especially older ones, having a uniform tell you you're in the wrong can be enough to make them realise they need to sort themselves out.
  21. Spoiler on, louvres off
  22. Pics will come when everything is done, still got a bit more tidying up to do yet as I need to fab some supporting brackets next week, hopefully done by Weds
  23. Didn't even realise TV was an option on these! Was it a manual one you drove Exec? How did you find it apart from pulling well and having a cool armrest? I've been busy this weekend on mine. Finally picked it up yesterday and spent the afternoon along with this morning cutting, drilling, grinding and bolting things in, on and to it... Feels good to have a successful day spannering, doesn't happen very often

    Jap day 14th may

Were there actually any cars there, or just three slightly try-hard scrubbers?
  25. It will be, when we know what the question is. Jeez, this is really hard work!
