  1. Exactly this. The Grand Tour will be for the fuddy-duddies who just want to watch the same regurgitated stuff they've been watching whilst sat in their pipe and slippers for the last ten years; and the new Top Gear will be for the cool kids who are bang on trend and want their shows to be fun, exciting and fresh!

    Cayman 718

See, I found the 718 S to be both brilliant and also rubbish. The chassis, the handling, the styling, the infotainment stuff: Perfect. Everything works wonderfully and gives you easy as much feedback as the 981 did. And then you come to the engine. Granted, the demo cars don't have the PSE yet, however the tone at WOT and high revs is dire. It's just like a vacuum cleaner, zero personality at the point in the revs where it should be coming on song. At idle it's lovely, and the pops and bangs are hysterical, but there's no character there otherwise. Is it quick? Yup, more than quick enough for the roads. The PDK 'box is still the best I've ever tried, and it hides the turbocharged nature extremely well. Thing is, that's not a good thing for me. If the engine tone is going to sound like a foghorn, then at least give me some kind of thrill elsewhere. It's the kind of car that will sell bucketloads, but not to people who actually want to drive whereas before it was the go-to car in that price bracket. No, I wasn't overly impressed with it, which is a shame as after the 991.2 I thought Porsche had got turbocharging in the regular cars nailed on. Right now, the 718 is a step backwards for keen drivers.
  3. Can't wait, it's going to be ace! Trailers look good, fresh and exciting rather than the turgid nonsense we had before, and Evans is nothing less than polarising. If it's everything the last TG wasn't, then it'll be brilliant.
  4. Same as here then, really. We don't vote for our courts, nor our banks, nor our civil servants.
  5. Which people are not voted for?
  6. I had an NA a few years back, although not at the same time as my Zed. I've driven a couple of Ncs too. Night and day. For me, the NC is a shadow of the NA and NB, and I wouldn't even place one against a 350 in any comparative term. The 350 steers better, brakes better, feels better, goes better etc. The only thing the NC has is the lower weight and a better gearchange, but that's it. In terms of the drive, it's an absolute no brainer to pick a 350 over an NC.
  7. This car is awesome in the flesh. I've never been a fan of the R33, but I will say this has changed my mind on them.
  8. Bloody hell! Fingers crossed for the cyclist making a quick recovery.
  9. Fitted mine today, surprisingly simple to find space to run the cable round half the car as apparently BMW fit and finish for the interior includes plenty of gaps between panels Nice bit of kit, easy to set up, quality appears fine. Eight thumbs out of ten so far.
  10. You can blame the Germans for that one. TUV and all that.
  11. He must have me on his mind
  12. Colour is perfect, don't listen to the haters! Congrats mate, well pleased for you
  13. Make her do extra chores to pay for it
  14. Would you buy one over the M3 though? The Alfa is prettier, and probably doesn't have silly spiky power deliveries, but awful dealer network + dodgy Italian manufacturing doesn't inspire confidence from an ownership POV. Hell, I'd take a C63 over either in a heartbeat.
  15. Well if you don't want to, I'll have a go for you... ;)
  16. I so want one now. That would look ace in the Bummer.

  18. Oooh they're nice... I'm sure they'll be able to knock something up for you. Expensive though.
  19. I would still have been looking in windows for nekkid wimmins when I was 8
  20. Depends on how long you want to live for
  21. My kids are going to be experts at penny whistle. Or mime.
