  1. Not at all, I just have a realistic view of the world. Do you genuinely believe that all banks are evil? And that everyone working for them is evil?
  2. If it's genuine, then it'll be fine. If. Got a link?
  3. I was in the middle of writing something here, but the guys above me have said it in both very clear and simple ways.
  4. Me too, luckily it's at the top.
  5. Ah thank you sir The trouble is, it's very easy to knacker a clutch within 10K by riding it or slipping it everywhere. Is it possible that your driving style contributes to this? No shame if it does, it might not even be something you notice. Realistically, it could well cost you the value of a new clutch + install to find out if the clutch is faulty, which I have to say is fairly unlikely. It's more likely that either you're slipping the clutch regularly OR the install wasn't done correctly. Unless you take it back to another garage you'll never know if it's the latter or not. Could there be a claim for early failure? Yes, possibly, but practically that's going to be expensive and impossible to prove. I'd suck it up, then take it somewhere else to fit to try and eliminate poor fitting as the cause. HOWEVER, before all that then definitely check the slave cylinder as Keyser says, that could very likely be the cause of your woes.
  6. I'd take a long walk in the rain over a Failside.
  7. It genuinely still surprises me that people don't realise just what would've happened if we'd not bailed those banks out. Actually not surprises, terrifies. They're not the bad guys. Despite not helping the problem (along with greedy stupid people borrowing more than they could afford), the bankers also happen to be the only people who could really get things sorted again too. But hey, that's another thread altogether.
  8. No worries Tbh you'd be just as well to buy brand new if you're after that much tread, I know I would.
  9. I'll have a couple of used ones available shortly (as in next week), I reckon they've got about 3.5mm across the width, perhaps a little more. Even wear though. Where are you based? I was going to keep them for spares, but if someone else needs them and can come fetch them then I'm sure we could come to some arrangement.
  10. My lucky red bucket is a Halfords one. Had it for years, proper sturdy thing.
  11. Buy on condition, not on mileage.
  12. Chloe does have one, however we'll need that for Betty. Soz boz @Scylla: No idea! If you want to use the OEM BT controls though then yes, definitely.
  13. It's an odd bit of kit, when your phone rings it does it through the speakers but when you answer it diverts back to the phone: I've not looked at whether you can then transfer back to speakers (I should check that really). I have my phone mounted by the centre console, approx the same distance away as in the 350 if you had it by the cubby, and the mike picks it up fine. It's not perfect for that, but then it's not designed for it so the fact it copes is a bonus.

    Shocks

At the age of your car, personally I'd see it as an opportunity for a refresh. A set of BC Racing dampers & springs would be where my money went, looking at around £650 for the lot. Give Tarmac a shout, he's got mine for me at a better price than going direct.
  15. I swore I'd never, ever recommend an FM transmitter ever again after the shocking quality of the ones I tried when I had a 350Z. The tape deck sounded better using 20 year old tapes! HOWEVER This now exists. I've bought two now, one for the Bummer and one for the Clio, and they're utterly fabulous. Couple them with a Brodit mount and I fail to see why you'd ever want to spend the money on a new HU unless you must have other gimmickery. These aren't cheap, granted, but they're the only thing I'd recommend and I don't recommend any old tat.
  16. I realise the deep irony of this next statement coming from a 911 fan, but... It looks exactly the same as the old one.
  17. You have the offer, so unless you tell them how are they going to know? As long as you were truthful when applying then that's about as far as it goes I suspect, certainly I don't recall any wording that requires you to tell them if you plan on changing jobs. Put it this way: What difference practically is there if you changed now or the day after you move in? Still a huge risk either way, but this early on the risk is very much with you not the mortgage company.
  18. Neighbour is hardly likely to admit to any of that, even if true! I think you're missing the obvious aspect here. You simply need to be pushing the train company as hard as possible to give you back your laptop in the state you left it with them (albeit accidentally). Anything else is just guff and adds little to your problem with them.
  19. I'm not convinced I'd bother telling them, tbh. You have your offer, you know the risk if the job goes belly-up, it's pretty much on your shoulders right now.
  20. Nope Each UN member country pays in a quota, not the EU.
  21. The IMF is run from Washington, not Brussels. It's part of the UN.
  22. My original advice still stands. Anything they do for you, they do because of the decent PR not because they have a legal responsibility.
  23. Just came to say the same thing. Deathly slow.
  24. The only negative I can think of is possible insurance issues, as some insurers can still be a bit funny about remaps and extra power. That said, they're normally the mainstream ones and since you've already got a bunch of mods on there it's unlikely to apply to you. I say go for it!
