  1. Also worth trying some cat pheromone spray, on the same basis as the lion dung theory: If you can make the garden smell like it's owned by another cat, then others are more likely stay away. I have no idea how good these sprays on the internet are though.
  2. Try sprinkling ground black pepper liberally around the boundary and across the area they are using as a pooping place. Cats hate the stuff, it's cheap and you can't really see it either.
  3. Speak to Grundy on here for the tyre stickers
  4. Hold up one sec. First off, I hate black boxes. They're a slippery slope from just youngsters having them voluntarily, to be being forced to have them, to everyone being forced to have them. Secondly, you're getting dangerously close to fraud on the second driver thing. I agree, adding one can help reduce the cost, however just be careful that you actually know the person and that they truly do do the job you say they do.
  5. Why? There is no cost to do that, AFAIK. I suspect they're taking you for a ride. Contact the DVLA directly and see what's happening regarding that plate and auctions.
  6. You have no idea how anyone else drives, so leave the accusations at the door please.
  7. Tbh, he's got a point. Baiting other drivers is not something this forum wishes to promote. It's childish at best, dangerous at worst.

Either or, but humble is by far the more common usage http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=IMHO

    Nismo tyre size

    In my humble opinion.

    Stick with standard, IMHO.
  11. Doesn't matter if it was, it would still be able to be rescinded in the circumstances as described.
  12. Speaking of Audi drivers, did you hear the one about the Audi driver who had the oversteering Audi? Me neither. Equally applicable to BMW drivers and the BMW that indicated all the time, before anyone starts!
  13. Agreed, nothing he can do at all.
  14. Depends on the insurer. Most allow 30 days, but some won't entertain the idea. You'll have to speak to them. Failing that, you simply need to take out a full policy and then cancel when no longer required. Shouldn't cost more than a £100 or so, depending on insurer and their pro-rata policy. Either way, you'll need to get it taxed or take the risk of getting pinged by ANPR/police. If you price it correctly, it will sell.
  15. Dual mass flywheel and clever mapping, basically. It's designed to slow the rate of the rev drop, so that changing gears is smoother. My Ranger does it to an excessive degree, it works quite well in fairness but it is a pain when you're trying to rev match yourself.
  16. Seems a lot of money for ten days.
  17. Tbh I'd locate all the holes in the firewall where you can see they've gone through, then either install your own grommets suitably sized (obtained from Halfrauds, ECP etc) by either disconnecting and re-running the cables or cut and reconnect, or if that's awkward/impossible then some well-aimed silicone sealant will do the job too. You don't need to buy OEM ones for this, anything will do.
  18. Nope, they'll get smashed in the semis by a Portuguese side that will finally wake up. It's a shame, but at some point I think they'll fall and with no Ramsey or Davies I think it'll be the next game. Should be a good one tonight though, Italy vs Germany. Kum on ze Germans!* *That's a chant, not in instruction.
  19. As much as its stating the obvious, I'd be amazed if you didn't have a wire either not connected or to earth or otherwise not back to how it should be. That's where I'd start.

In fairness, he doesn't have to either. If he didn't know then he's probably been running the engine dry or just assuming TADTS, if he did know then that's a bit naughty. Zero way of proving it though I'm afraid. Horrible when this happens. You have my sympathy. I'd estimate you're looking at anywhere between £1K to £2k for the work, depending on exactly what needs doing or what you may choose to upgrade whilst you're there.

Did you ask about oil usage before buying? Did he mention it at all? Not trying to point blame, purely fact finding at this point.

Holy hell! Erm yeah, I hate to state the obvious but that is one very very unhealthy engine. I would strongly suggest getting it looked at with a view to a rebuild/replacement engine ASAP, unfortunately. Assuming this was a private sale, of course. Was it?

How many miles have you done in that time?
