Is that the fault of Porsche though? Gone are the days when they produced the odd dodgy car (996 anyone? Or the 2.5l Boxster?), now everything they make is impeccable and pretty much class leading from a driving POV. As a sporty manufacturer, they really have no equals, not at the price points they aim at. I love the new TT, but over a Cayman? No. X5/6M over a Cayenne TT? God no. F-Type over the 911? To be different and to have a v8 then maybe, but otherwise I couldn't. Hell, the new Pananera isn't even ugly any more! I know I'm biased, but go find a manufacturer that delivers so much from every car in the range. Porsche also offer so much more access than other companies to Evo, hence the overexposure. I'm not saying I disagree with you guys that Evo has too much Porsche, as it does and even I'm bored of it, but I dont think that's either the fault of Evo nor Porsche. If you want a really good read that encompasses more than just sports cars, and goes deeper in the industry with some proper good exclusives, go pick up a copy of Car. They have access to stuff like you would not believe, and the quality of their copy is exceptional.

Depends if you ever intend to go back to stock before selling the car. If you do, then you can take the mods off and sell them on, minimising loss. What mods you got planned?

I'm not convinced that's what it appears to be. Looks more like an engineering mule than anything else: We've got the Panamera Shooting Brake to come first, which we've not seen running yet. 4WD Panny Estate? Now that would be a desirable car. Unlike the above, which looks an utter mess.

Trouble is, the car is such a boring colour that it needs something to lift it. Front lip helps, as would bright centre caps + roof wrap + skirts + spoiler. All IMHO, of course.

Externally, definitely. Much more so than BMWs or Audis, although I do still have a soft spot for even the most basic E92. Well, and the E63 obviously Where Subaru and Ford fall over is the interiors. They're utterly horrendous, cheap nasty plastic things. Acceptable sure, but incredibly poor quality.

Wait until you drive something properly low, like an Elise or Caterham

275 lacking in traction on a car with just 300bhp Bear one thing in mind: More rubber means more unsprung weight, which will have certain effects on acceleration, braking and handling. Possibly not a huge issue if you're running massive wheels in the first place, mind.

Keep away from the turbo (coolant pipe leak) and the air suspension (frightfully expensive to replace), and they're as reliable as anything else that age. It also doesn't have any tricky hybrid systems to go wrong...

Never driven the Lexus, but I'd be amazed if it was even close to an X5/6, much less the Cayenne.

But we're not talking about killing people whilst driving, we're talking about speeding. Would you want to be penalised the same for doing 80 in a 70 as for doing 40 in a 30? Or sticking with percentages, doing 93 on a motorway? Do you think that's the same risk to person or property as 40 past the school at kicking out time? I don't see it is. Personally I think all limits apart from 30mph ones should be abolished, and dangerous driving prosecuted for often. Sooner or later, someone will say "But this is legal in Germany!", and they'd be right. People aren't dying every time someone does more than twice the limit there, so speed on its own is not inherently dangerous. I for one am glad that courts are not looking at things in a strict light, but neither do we have anywhere close to all the facts on this case.

If the CPS are only going to prosecute for speeding, then the punishments should be suited for that crime. Tbh, I'd much rather see circumstances at the time taken into account rather than outright speed. 150mph on a motorway at 2am in a car of good condition being driven attentively by an experienced driver should get less than someone doing 35mph past a school at 3pm.

Cayenne, wouldn't even consider anything else. It'll do cruising, it'll do comfort, it'll do prestige, and it'll do being flung around should you ever get the opportunity.
