  1. Agreed. And then I can rip the electric crap out and fit a nice Busso V6
  2. Alternatively, what would be the point in pushing for automated taxis if most people who used to commute now work from home? If that continues, then the desire will be a lot less for companies to bother with. Mass automated motoring is an awful long way off. It’ll only take a couple of software glitches and big accidents to set it back years while safety is reassessed, which will likely happen when the first big push comes. That’s inevitable.
  3. It’s emissions based: Subaru don’t sell enough crappy hybrids to offset the CO that the BRZ would put out which would raise their overall CO output. Toyota can do this with ease. I can’t believe the new 86 will have a different drivetrain at all compared with the new BRZ. It’ll be a styling and slight suspension change like the early cars (which, btw, I much preferred how the BRZ handled over the 86).
  4. Agreed about the GTR tech being dated, it wasn’t even a particularly nice gearbox when it was launched, much less now.
  5. Exterior design will likely be Toyota, hence the Lexus-lite style I would imagine.
  6. Did you ever get the geo done? German cars factory settings are notoriously understeery, but a tweak makes the engineering come alive. Ask @StevoD how my old 6er drove as an example.
  7. So what? I don’t get the addiction to one brand, life is too short and there’s too many great marques out there to not explore as many as possible.
  8. If you want a car that’s very quick but not exactly the nicest place to spend time, sure. TTRS isn’t much slower in the real world, that’s for sure. I also don’t think the TTRS is lacking character in the slightest. It looks the part, it goes the part, it sounds the part. TTS a different story, but still lovely place to be.
  9. I don’t think they’ll feel softened at all, the suspension in the RS especially isn’t known for being forgiving! Mature drive, yeah I’d go with that, but that’s not a bad thing. The 911 was certainly more mature than the 350, but it was also certainly on another level in terms of both being a sensible cruiser but also an amazing car to nail the arse off. I’d expect a TTRS to be much the same.
  10. With all due respect, it’s not like the 370 is particularly well known for being the pinnacle of driving excellence. Whilst I would always prefer rwd over 4wd myself, unless you’re capable of deducing the minutiae of chassis and power train nuances, I suspect that the RS will be the more thrilling car to own full stop. Cars have come an awful long way since the 350 chassis came out, let’s not forget. Plus you’re comparing one of the nicest interiors in a modern car to one thats *ahem* lacking cohesive design. That alone would go a long way to making you feel you’re sat in something much more special.
  11. Well that’s just bloody obvious. Maybe those people can pick up a used car instead, like the vast majority of people do?
  12. As reliable as anything else modern but not super fancy, ie very. TTRS will be much more expensive to run because of the RS tax, but ultimately a much better car plus that engine is worth it. Any car can be a possible lemon, I’ve no doubt there’s plenty of Zeds that have turned themselves off for no reason too. Flukes happen, it’s the known issues you need to worry about. Check the owners forums for more detail on those.
  13. On paper the specs are fine, but I dare you to drive one and not come away thinking that painting a beige wall seems more fun.
  14. Exploring space is massively important imho, I cannot wait to sit there in front of the holotelly and watch us land on Mars. It will unite us all in the way the moon landings did I think. Also, f*ck electric cars.
  15. That laugh Now give us a drive by, you tease!
  16. Or bump up vat on electricity, much easier to do that way. Or start charging people more if you have a fast charger for your EV in the garage.
  17. I would much rather they incentivise electric cars rather than banning ICE ones. Both have their place in the world.
  18. Correct, but then kids these days are prioritising buying £40k cars on pcp and not worrying about the house at all, so that won’t change. Plus leccy cars won’t always be £40k.
  19. Nice and simple, exactly as it should be. Lovely job
  20. Have you even spoken to Nissan yet? Granted not easy to do atm, but even so your nearest dealer is your first call not NHQ.
  21. Meh. They all look the same, don’t they? Beautiful car mate, enjoy.
  22. I wouldn’t say it gave me any more traction, but what it did was give me so much more feel and that confidence enabled me to go that much quicker.
