Personally I'd stick with OEM sizes, no real need to change that aspect as the Zed isn't going to be great in proper snow regardless due to weight distribution. Remember you need wider tyres on the rear regardless of winter or summer compounds, so don't put 225/40 all the way round. Many people (myself included) ran 225/40/18 and 245/40/18 all round on summer tyres with no ill effect, so I can't see you having any issues.

Yes. PCars is a load of crappy crapness. Well, it's not, but it's so poorly designed that you'll hate it. There's a great game under there and when it works it's brilliant, but the menu system and tweaking is just an absolute nightmare it ruins the whole game.

No, what he means is that a car that moves around a lot can be a lot more fun than a car that grips and grips. I deliberately ran my old MX5 on the crappiest tyres I could find, simply because it was far more entertaining that way. Speed & grip != most fun.
