  1. Up to you, but if you can’t trust one would you ever trust the others?
  2. Agreed, sounds like the gauge to me. Bin it and try something better.
  3. Zero fines and I’d be okay with this. Educate, don’t punish unless the p*ss taking is excessive.
  4. Only if your oil is low, but I’m assuming you topped that up during the install. How low is the pressure? I mean you could see a fractional pressure drop if the new pipe work is significantly longer than the old and the oil pump is worn, but I’m grasping at straws here. Really there should be no difference in pressure at all.
  5. What he said. But the Yokos ain’t cheap. However, if you’ve never been on track before then simply use whatever tyres you’re used to. You can have just as much fun on regular tyres, plus you know how the car is going to handle already. I’ve tracked recently on MPS4 and they were more than adequate for all conditions (including the torrential rain that arrived in the afternoon!).
  6. Arguably the BRZ86 is in a class of one, certainly I can’t think of anything else that compares to it brand new. Everything else has a turbo or plappy faddles or more doors or is a bus. Unique.
  7. Making a faster car is easy. Making a car feel good to drive is an art. In that respect, the BRZ86 has always been a masterpiece.
  8. If you just want to go sideways easy on a DWYB day then go for it. If you care about balance and not wanting the rear to try to overtake the front all the time and able to make decent progress on the roads then it’s a terrible idea.
  9. Exactly Stu. It’s offering a choice, not a direct competitor, exactly as the first one did. And we should be grateful for that in this last decade of pure ICE power trains. I don’t hate turbo cars, but revving out an NA lump to the death is one of life’s great pleasures. Outside of the super car bubble, no FI lump comes close to that feeling of having to work an engine to get the best out of it.
  10. Likewise with the MX5, but audacious use of late braking, low weight and excellent visibility means I usually find half a chance somewhere Does hurt being out accelerated by a diesel MPV though...
  11. Accept it for what it is and revel in it, rather than worry about it trying to compete with others and you’ll really enjoy it. Think of it as a coupe MX5, delicate and fun rather than a speed bruiser. I’ve driven a couple of BRZ86s and they’ve all put a smile on my face. Anyone who says they’re too slow and need more power just doesn’t get it.
  12. Well that’s the internet won. Well played sir.
  13. Then a decent e90 335i would be my shout. Or tbh if you want something bargey then an f10 550i is a glorious thing, and that chassis is stunning. If it’s a good steer in f11 520d format (and it really is), then I can only imagine how nice it would be with a v8
  14. However, putting the Mustang Mach-E in there automatically makes me discount their sense in choices.
  15. http://cardesignaward.org/en/finaliste/#conc For the lazy among us
  16. Lake Country pads in orange and red, and Scholl S30+ compound will do all you can pretty much do with a DAS
  17. We knew this months ago when the ZP was announced.
  18. I’m guessing mud. And animal faeces. Lots of both.
  19. That will make a massive difference, just make sure you take notes on how the car handles now and what you want it to do before you go to tell them, you’ll come out with the car you want rather than just a generic ‘fast road’ setup. I assume you’ve done brakes and tyres too?
  20. What’s your geo settings atm? Who did the alignment for you? You’re right, adjustable arms can be very useful for dialling in a more aggressive setting but you may then find the car diving for every rut on the road, which isn’t much fun. There’s an awful lot more places you can spend your money on first IMHO.
  21. Be a better article if they bothered putting the correct conversion price of £6000 in the headline rather than buried halfway down the page...
  22. Electric is fine for generic city driving. Petrol is needed for fun. I’d rather go slower in petrol than faster in electric.
