  1. Accept it for what it is and revel in it, rather than worry about it trying to compete with others and you’ll really enjoy it. Think of it as a coupe MX5, delicate and fun rather than a speed bruiser. I’ve driven a couple of BRZ86s and they’ve all put a smile on my face. Anyone who says they’re too slow and need more power just doesn’t get it.
  2. Well that’s the internet won. Well played sir.
  3. Then a decent e90 335i would be my shout. Or tbh if you want something bargey then an f10 550i is a glorious thing, and that chassis is stunning. If it’s a good steer in f11 520d format (and it really is), then I can only imagine how nice it would be with a v8
  4. However, putting the Mustang Mach-E in there automatically makes me discount their sense in choices.
  5. http://cardesignaward.org/en/finaliste/#conc For the lazy among us
  6. Lake Country pads in orange and red, and Scholl S30+ compound will do all you can pretty much do with a DAS
  7. We knew this months ago when the ZP was announced.
  8. I’m guessing mud. And animal faeces. Lots of both.
  9. That will make a massive difference, just make sure you take notes on how the car handles now and what you want it to do before you go to tell them, you’ll come out with the car you want rather than just a generic ‘fast road’ setup. I assume you’ve done brakes and tyres too?
  10. What’s your geo settings atm? Who did the alignment for you? You’re right, adjustable arms can be very useful for dialling in a more aggressive setting but you may then find the car diving for every rut on the road, which isn’t much fun. There’s an awful lot more places you can spend your money on first IMHO.
  11. Be a better article if they bothered putting the correct conversion price of £6000 in the headline rather than buried halfway down the page...
  12. Electric is fine for generic city driving. Petrol is needed for fun. I’d rather go slower in petrol than faster in electric.
  13. Agreed. And then I can rip the electric crap out and fit a nice Busso V6
  14. Alternatively, what would be the point in pushing for automated taxis if most people who used to commute now work from home? If that continues, then the desire will be a lot less for companies to bother with. Mass automated motoring is an awful long way off. It’ll only take a couple of software glitches and big accidents to set it back years while safety is reassessed, which will likely happen when the first big push comes. That’s inevitable.
  15. It’s emissions based: Subaru don’t sell enough crappy hybrids to offset the CO that the BRZ would put out which would raise their overall CO output. Toyota can do this with ease. I can’t believe the new 86 will have a different drivetrain at all compared with the new BRZ. It’ll be a styling and slight suspension change like the early cars (which, btw, I much preferred how the BRZ handled over the 86).
  16. Agreed about the GTR tech being dated, it wasn’t even a particularly nice gearbox when it was launched, much less now.
  17. Exterior design will likely be Toyota, hence the Lexus-lite style I would imagine.
  18. Did you ever get the geo done? German cars factory settings are notoriously understeery, but a tweak makes the engineering come alive. Ask @StevoD how my old 6er drove as an example.
  19. So what? I don’t get the addiction to one brand, life is too short and there’s too many great marques out there to not explore as many as possible.
  20. If you want a car that’s very quick but not exactly the nicest place to spend time, sure. TTRS isn’t much slower in the real world, that’s for sure. I also don’t think the TTRS is lacking character in the slightest. It looks the part, it goes the part, it sounds the part. TTS a different story, but still lovely place to be.
  21. I don’t think they’ll feel softened at all, the suspension in the RS especially isn’t known for being forgiving! Mature drive, yeah I’d go with that, but that’s not a bad thing. The 911 was certainly more mature than the 350, but it was also certainly on another level in terms of both being a sensible cruiser but also an amazing car to nail the arse off. I’d expect a TTRS to be much the same.
