  1. I'm not convinced you've got the hang of this yet
  2. They look about the right prices to me, I've certainly never seen them any cheaper than that. In fact, that's cheaper than what I paid for my 245/45/18s back in January of last year when I bought the BMW. If you saw them at £130 a tyre then that's just ridiculously cheap. At £160, they're an utter bargain. Now I have even less time for people who run cheaper inferior rubber on their cars!
  3. Zafira should be around in that budget too?
  4. No idea where you've seen that, they're actually cheaper now than when I bought mine back in the summer. I paid about £220 for a 275/40/18, they're down to £190 now. Perhaps it's down to the sizes you're after? Bearing in mind they stopped making certain sizes in the summer, and only carried on where there was an OEM supplied fitment.
  5. Good god man, I'm nearly 40 and even I've heard of bantz
  6. Skinflint is as old as the hills, on both sides of the border. It's up there with 'bobbins'.
  7. Really? Because most people on here do when they spend £2k to get 3bhp but won't spend a couple of hundred more to go significantly faster.
  8. Because any effort you put into the tone is wasted, and better spent on making it go faster. If it sounds great then wonderful, but keeping it quiet is more important unless you're going racing. Track days are already getting restricted by too much noise, no need to help the NIMBYs out and do their jobs for them. 96dB is a reasonable target, you'll probably get that with just dropping a Cobra or Scorpion exhaust on I reckon. Removing the cats will make it A LOT louder, and it'll also sound raspy and horrid. As it's not going to be a track car at all for another year at least, I'd stick to something like that. Spend the extra on a set of R888Rs for the track
  9. I know you win the October award for "Most Bobbins Posted In A Single Post Of The Month", that's for sure.
  10. We prefer Trekkers, actually. Trekkies is the insulting term.
  11. You'll need to run cats and a relatively stock exhaust, as otherwise you won't be getting anywhere near a track I'm afraid. It'll be just too loud. Personally I'd go with some quality hi-flow cats (Berks et al) or just run the stock ones, and then probably get a custom exhaust made to enable tunable baffles to be fitted for ease on track. Strict limits means you can add more easily, on a noisy day you can then happily remove if you want. As a track-only car, you really shouldn't be concerned about tone or how loud it is at all: Your responsibility should be to keep the noise as low as possible to stop NIMBYs complaining and getting tracks closed/restricted.
  12. No, because diesel = tractor. Now, an E92 335i and an S2K would indeed be the perfect two-car garage...
  13. Door is over there, man card deposit box is to your left. Have a nice day.
  14. Agreed. My sheddy MX5 was one of my favourite cars ever, despite the rust finally taking it
  15. I doubt it. Those sizes already cover 92% of (clearly only their target) market, so I can't see much of a need to produce smaller ones. If you're after the best tyre you're prepared to pay for it, which means that your car very likely has the upgraded wheels on it, and they're going to be 19" minimum these days. Much as they never got round to doing the MPSS in N-rated for the 997 cars, I can't see them spending a fortune on producing these in 18"s just for the few they'd actually get round to selling.
  16. Literally the most complicated and awkward naming scheme ever. Also, those sizes suck arse.
  17. He'll never go to NASCAR though. Or any other racing. Once F1 is over for him, he'll mostly likely do some music or absolutely sweet FA. I can't see Lewis driving any other discipline, I really can't.
  18. Yes, it is. You need to get rid, ASAP. The car's probably salvageable though.
  19. That's my point: If he was based in the US then more US people would know him!
  20. Wont get $100 mill for 3 years work though. Oh I dunno, I reckon he'd get very close to that given that most of his money comes from the advertising stuff he does now, rather than his racing salary. Being based in the US with more exposure in a US favourite would only increase his exposure.
  21. Oh absolutely, but he's not quite as bad as he was when he nearly punched Massa in the face At least this time I can kinda see why he's annoyed. If both Mercs had suffered then fair enough, but to lose in the way he has done is pretty galling.
