  1. Needs more colour. Like a neon green, or a yellow, or something. Promising work
  2. Haha so is it not good? May be worth upgrading to 4K box? I believe it has rj45 port and a bit more meatier. Reviews suggests that it supports 4K streaming over wifi without any problems. So I guess for normal and HD use it will be spot on. No chance wifi can support full bitrate 4K, it struggles with 1080p. Theoretical limits on wifi are great, but in the real world it just won't cope. For Netflix-quality 4K though, it's probably fine. 4K is a very short lived fad, HDR offers far more benefits for a much lower cost for content producers, and a higher quality product for the end user too. But I digress, that's another rant for another day My ATV4 box is just about the best multimedia box I've used, but obviously you pay top dollar for it and it has limitations when you're trying to run hooky software/access pirate streams. For Plex and Netflix though, it's superb. Exactly my issues too! No proper multi-channel audio makes it a very poor solution for people who have even a low-end surround setup.
  3. Ah, it looks like that's the one I've actually got anyway Ah well, not to worry.
  4. What I really want is a Firestick with an RJ45 input. Didn't realise there was a dual core one now, will have to look into that as one of the biggest downsides to the current one is that it's just not meaty enough. Cheers for the heads up Vlad
  5. 921,600 vs 2,073,600. That's the pixel count difference between 720 and 1080. Now imagine the weather is a bit crap, it's a bit grey, it's a bit rainy, and someone nudges you. You check your footage and you need to zoom in a bit to get all the detail on the number plate of the knobber that drove into you. Wouldn't you rather have more than twice the amount of pixels to be able to do that? For general TV watching 720p is fine for pretty much everybody, but with something like this unless you give yourself the very best chance possible chance to capture a moment in time, it's verging on a waste of money. The time when someone scrapes alongside your car and drives off, and the footage isn't clear enough in 720p, are you really going to be happy you saved a hundred quid?
  6. I think the price is fair, considering. Maybe just the time of year, people starting to save for Xmas?
  7. Anything you put in the window is going to attract thieves. It's not there for that purpose, it's there for when knobheads drive into my car With the comprehensive software and the iOS app, I really don't think the BlackVue can be beaten for that price.
  8. That's really not expensive Cheaper than your excess, and will pick out number plates in anything other than pitch black. I um'd and ah'D over getting a cheaper one, then realised it was pointless if the optics didn't do what I asked of them.
  9. 04 DE is worth about £6K unless you find someone special. Even if we assume you get £7K for yours, another £7.5K gets you to where you want to be. By the time you've bought the Evo at £13K you're talking a cost of £6K, and that assumes there's nothing wrong with it or that you don't decide to mod that too (yeah, right!). You're left with an unknown entity of a car that could be perfect or could be mullered, Is that worth it for the saving of £1.5K? You'll spend that on the extra fuel and servicing of an Evo in the first year. By all means get an Evo if you want an Evo, but don't kid yourself with the man maths.
  10. I'd be amazed if that didn't come back as 50/50 in the very least, if not 100% your fault. Not saying it is for one minute, but unless he admits to pulling into you then I reckon you could be stuffed. Don't muck around with cheaper cams, just get a Blackvue: Clicky for the one I've got. That gets the Dan Seal Of Recommendation, and not a lot does!
  11. Meh, as long as it's between the min and the max it's fine. I wish Nissan would just remove that gauge, it causes more sleepless nights than it prevents!
  12. True, but until the current court case is concluded these things remain perfectly legal to purchase and use. Does make me laugh how they're now generally referred to as Kodi boxes, like they contain some kind of magic: All they are pointing you to are video streams on the internet, available from anything* with a web browser. *iOS, as usual, is a little more fussy.
  13. Erm, woah! 4" will be scraping the floor, no chance I'd do that! Post a pic, I've a hard time seeing what you mean. And no, you'll have to cut and reweld the whole thing as otherwise the joints won't line up.
  14. So did the 996 911s, but they removed the proper dipstick in the 997 generation. The dipsticks!
  15. I think he means in addition to the 335i and the S2K, not instead of. And yeah, I can kinda see why you's want a little runaround. Personally I'd go for a Clio 200 instead, in Liquid Yellow with both Cup packs and the Recaros
  16. Agreed, how hard can it possibly be for them to design a sensor that tells you when oil is low, rather than when you're f*cked?! Quick pretest before the car is started when it's stone cold overnight and job's a carrot. In fairness, a lot of modern posher stuff will do this (Pork and BMW engines certainly do, I'm not sure on others).
  17. I'm amazed they let one go, I thought they were absolute sticklers for not having trademarked things on cards? Although in this case clearly there's nothing left that's recognisable!
  18. Yup, identical fitments.
  19. Never, ever, ever use the pressure gauge to judge oil level. Ever. It's as useless as a useless thing for that purpose. At this point tbh I'd be dropping the oil out of the engine and measuring exactly what was in there. You can then (hopefully) add more if needed or (hopefully not!) remove some, and then when you measure the level on the dipstick you will know exactly what full is supposed to look like.
  20. I so need to start doing some drifting
  21. On the flip side, I always buy the first car I look at, never gone wrong yet
