They're 6 series, Commander wanted the 7 series.

Quick, grab the banhammer!

Hood? HOOD?! That's a bonnet, man!

You want zero give in the suspension. To me, the obvious thing then is simply to fit the stiffest thing a manufacturer will make: Doesn't matter what anyone else has used, you're still going to need something miles stiffer and if you're paying for custom then just go to the nth degree. I don't like air either, but I accept at least it leaves the car driveable (and I don't just mean hooning, I mean pootling on a public road). How can you get any satisfaction from essentially ruining a car? Because that's what you're talking about. It takes a certain level of skill and nous to get a car that looks awesome as well as handles: It takes none to do one or the other. Might as well weld everything up and lift it off the back of a low loader.
-
That's completely self-defeating. Air is just for lows, and if the car is about looks and lows only then surely you achieve that in the quickest and easiest way possible. Saying you wouldn't fit air to a Jap car is bonkers Fit air, drive to show, park it up, lower it, drive it home when done. Put your money into other areas rather than faffing around with stuff no-one cares about. Having a car as stiff as you're talking about is going to place all sorts of stress on the chassis, and possibly cause you more issues down the line. You might as well just go to BC or whoever will do you custom spring rates and simply ask them for the stiffest springs they can possibly make. Who cares what others have used? You're trying to drive any comfort or roadholding from the car, so may as well do a proper job. Or get a bunch of the PDI blocks from OEM and fit them into standard springs to stop them moving I get that I'm hardly the hippest cool cat when it comes to looking standing by your car rather than driving your car, but this thread has me all kind of puzzled.
-
If you just want low, then get air. At least you'll keep some kind of comfort when driving the bloody thing. Making the suspension as stiff as possible won't do anything to make the car lower. What are you actually trying to achieve here? It sounds like you just want to park it up and let people stare at it, in which case chucking money at bushes and ARBs is a waste of cash.

Samsung all the way for me, the 7 series are very decent tellyboxes. I run a 6 series 75" and it's still a cut above the equivalent ones from other brands at the same price.

Rosberg winning the championship is like Man Utd winning the league by 5pts even though everyone else played six games less. You can only win with what's put in front of you, the numbers say he deserves the win and that's that really. Not the worst driver to win a championship, and prob deserves one for his length of service at Merc, but certainly won't be remembered as anything special.

Oh, I forgot to mention just how ridiculous that SA 'craze' of donutting in a car park actually is. If you're going to drift then do it properly, that kind of malarkey was nothing different to what you can find in every Lidl car park on a Thursday night over here

Hololens is a waste of time, the viewing angle is absolute garbage: http://newatlas.com/hololens-fov-field-of-view-illustrated/44903/ AR is dead as a dead thing.

Don't get me wrong, I've been umming and ahhing over grabbing a Vive this weekend as it's £100 off, and even managed to grab a go in the flesh today at the IDH Xmas show. It's impressive, very impressive, but I can't help but think I want to wait for the 2nd gen of hardware before committing at the very least. There's also too much of a split between OR and Vive for my taste, which isn't good for the industry.

Given that there was a warning regarding circumventing UK copyright laws on here the other day, it might be best to drop the subject. However, by far and large the vast majority of people do obtain things legally.

Jezza lied, end of. I agree with Fodder, this is now aimed squarely at the yanks and its poorer for it. All IMHO, I await the rest of the season etc.

VR is far from a revolution. It's fun, quirky, but years off mainstream.

You could've taken your car to any Nissan dealer, y'know. I mean not now you've done the flywheel, but before you could have. Be interesting to see what the issue is, did you have any symptoms before it happened?

Agreed, it's fine. You could do better, but you could do a lot worse. -

Sounds like Bennet -
Xmas might be a push, but fingers crossed. Fair play for the guy owning up, deffo worthy of buying him a beer I think.

Just seen it. For once, Steve and I agree on a TV show. It started with promise (although the theme tune is a bit crap, it's def no Jessica) as the Vulcan is something I've not seen a lot of. I'd rather have seen Hammond in it, as we might have been spared the obvious jokes, but what disappointed me most was the sound. The V12 in that is volatile, but it sounded positively anodyne through the speakers. Not my setup either, I promise you that, it just sounded like they turned the gain down too far. Was it clipping? I don't know. Shame though. The Zuma jokes went down well with the audience, and I'll admit I'd not seen that clip of him so that's perhaps my loss for not finding it funny. The chatting was the usual, as you'd expect, and it was watchable for sure. The celeb bit remains deathly unfunny. The Yank driver is just irritating now, he treats the viewer like an idiot, and why should we be excited about a hypercar if he can't be bothered? At least the Stig was just deadpan nothing, you made him what you wanted, Skinner is just a tw*nt. And the special forces bit. I'm sorry, but wtf was the point? Being raped in the arse whilst May misses the 2ft headshot? Well, comedy gold right there. Fake queen in a high speed chase in an S8? Oh, my sides. In fairness if the segment had been half as long then sure, it actually would've worked well I think as it's a subject ripe for ripping, but for me it was too slapstick. And I say that even bearing in mind the characters involved. The guy who built his own Merc C9 was superb though, the genuine admiration from the guys came through and it was beautifully handled. The Vulcan was shot with the same grace and dedication, and that's something GT will always excel at I feel. I'm not sure which GT is the real one now. The TG replica, or the gooning clusterf*ck. I genuinely hope the former, but then can I blame them for trying something a bit different? That's what I wanted, I know, but it seems that they've lost the subtlety that TG could have on occasion. Perhaps having the Beeb holding the reins was a good thing? Roll on Ep3, let's see where it goes!

2%? My, you're feeling charitable today!

PSVR is a massive step down in quality, and tbh unless Sony can find a way to boost the gfx on it then it's going to die quickly. I've tried it, and Batman is fun for 10mins but the fly screen look isn't a good one. Might be okay for a basic run, but given it's giving out PS3-style gfx it's going to look awfully dated in a couple of years. Nice effort, but too early or too cheap. I've yet to try Oculus or Vive.

No-one with a girlfriend uses Linux, so I'm ignoring those seven people.

They'd almost be better off dropping the track altogether, it really is useless. To be fair though Dunsfold isn't exactly much better, but at least they don't have to turn around and come back the other way

How do you have your ARBs setup though? -
I don't get why people get so hung up over the Rev Match thing. Couple of weeks of practice and you can do the exact same thing yourself, and the bonus being you can do it on any manual car you drive then. I'm not sure I could pick a worse base for a track car than a Civic tbh, unless it was an auto diesel estate Don't get me wrong, they're good solid cars, but they're essentially a granny's shopping car with a revvy engine. For me, something that was designed as a RWD sports car will always be a better place to start from.
