  1. Stuffed crust gets my vote
  2. You couldn't be more wrong if you tried. The M96/97 engines do not score up over night, that's just preposterous nonsense Failure rate is roughly 10% if you take the averages, and a carefully warmed up engine given full beans at the appropriate points will likely be fine. IMS failure is more haphazard, however later ones have proven resilient or you could just put the LNE kit in and be done with it. Add a third rad and the LTT, and the engine should be fine for many miles. DFI units are not scoring any more than any other engine in the world (I can only assume you're referring to Baz's post the other week), including the ones in the Zeds. Gearboxes are strong as anything, and certainly stronger than the many issues we've seen in the 350. Tiptronic and PDK 'boxes have proven themselves tough, too. I mean, if you're going to criticise them then criticise them on the costs to repair if things go wrong, but at least understand what you're talking about before you label the 9x7 cars as unreliable. I said get an inspection first, and yes, if the bores are showing signs of damage then walk away. As long as that's all good, then you end up with the finest sportscars sensible money can buy.
  3. A poppadom on the FL?! Man, every one KNOWS you only ever put Indian cuisine on the driven wheels! I dunno, bloody amateurs.
  4. Except for 'bae'. That word is detestable.
  5. 987B/C is very reliable, and day to day running costs (including servicing) are equivalent to the 370. It's just when they do go wrong, they go very wrong. As long as you get an inspection done, you'll be fine. Boroscope is vital though.
  6. Ultimately are you going to find anything cheaper with the same performance and the same age that's going to be any more reliable, or any cheaper to replace bits than a 370? I'm not sure you would, so you're already taking the safe option by considering one. Buy from a dealer, get a full inspection done by a specialist before purchase, and I reckon that's about as safe as you'd need to be.
  7. No reason we can't educate people on both the Zed and the English language
  8. Realistically, I don't think you will ever be comfortable in a 370Z if you're going to spend all your time worrying about what could break. I'd suggest looking at cheaper cars, where you can afford to replace the big bits without losing sleep over it.
  9. I would imagine around the £3k to £4K mark. Just get a proper gearbox and be done with it A Porsche PDK box is about £15k...
  10. I thought so too.
  11. No, you NEED to get those rears changed PRONTO.
  12. How do you pronounce his name?
  13. No, different sizes. You need 2x new rears ASAP.
  14. Erm, you have different tyres across teh same axle?! If so, CHANGE THEM NOW. Literally drive straight to a garage and get a matching set put on. Do not pass go, do not collect £200 etc. If mixed front to back, the same advice applies but it's not quite so life and death. I mean, you're still risking £8K worth of car in the worst possible conditions for the sake of a couple of hundred quid, but that's your choice. I would always recommend a matching set of tyres all round, and if they're a premium tyre like the MPSS then all the better.
  15. Yup, I'd have taken a step back and trod on the little sh*t's feet.
  16. I'm glad to be sat indoors! I've only just noticed the rear view mirror

    Tinting Lights?

Front fogs are absolutely useless in anything other than proper pea soup can't see more than 2ft ahead of the car type fog. Then you'd be travelling at about 10mph and be on side lights to stop the light reflecting back at you. I hate front fogs. I also hate Ford for making their vehicles FORCE you to put the front fogs on just to have the rears on: The rears can be used a few times in the winter, but I've only ever needed front fogs once in 16 years of driving. I agree, it should be side/dipped/main. I would also accept parking for side, and full for main.
  18. Jesus.
  19. Or don't worry about it. Anything key will be genuine OEM, anything less important probably doesn't matter. Again though, means no mods or cheeky remaps.

    Tinting Lights?

Well, no. C&U is down to the car when manufactured. As soon as you do anything to make the lights more rubbish, you break those regs. Also, how do you describe it to the insurer? Unless you can measure the exact output and prove it's still legal, then saying your lights are now more rubbish than OEM isn't going to be something I'd like to be insuring the risk on.

    Tinting Lights?

    Yes, construction & use regs.

    Tinting Lights?

AFAIK you cannot have lights that are too bright: As long as they're pointing in the right direction as set by the MOT, then they can be as bright as you like.

  24. Hi Tracey, welcome along Sounds like a very positive experience with the garage, these things do happen with buying used cars and it's always about how they handle the problems, rather than the problem itself.
  25. Yeah, funny that!
