  1. Post means after, pre means before, so after the cat
  2. NO NO NO BLACK BOX EVER NO NO NO The more people that give in and have these, the more they'll become cheaper to manufacture and cheaper for the insurance companies to buy. Once they're everywhere, suddenly you'll struggle to find a policy without a black box available, and then suddenly you're tracked everywhere. I'm one of the least paranoid people going, but it should be fairly obvious that the government and police would find an easy source of revenue from being able to fine people on the spot the second the break the law. This can only ever end in that.
  3. I have absolutely no idea I'd put the switch in the cabin for sure, but as to the wiring the other end I don't know if there is a separate fuse the light washer jets. If there is, then yeah, should be as easy as that.
  4. Be careful with Admiral: Your mods won't be covered should you go that route unless you take out their optional cover, and even then the value is pitifully low. I'm not saying they're a bad insurer, but you literally are just paying for basic cover and they'll do the bare minimum for you. Sadly because of your age you're pretty much stuck using the mainstream insurers, but as long as you go in eyes open you'll be fine. Personally I'd rather be insured with a company that supplies my needs on paper knowing I'll have to have a bit of a fight if I claim rather than one who I was under-insured with, but that's the benefit of an older head speaking: When I was 21 fifteen-odd years ago, I always went with the cheapest too!

    Brake Judder

Excellent, glad to hear it matey
  6. Easy, just put a switch in the line.
  7. Fast Road is compromised by its very nature, but there's nothing wrong with that. OEM 350z suspension is compromised as it's too soft if you want to track your car, OEM RR Phantom suspension is compromised if you enjoy proper steering feedback, pretty much every suspension setup is compromised to some point. So what? The only exception is the Evora, which is just witchcraft.
  8. Plus, it would've ruined the joke if I'd just said yes in the first place
  9. Jo used to call the 911 'Adolf' and the ugly MX5 'Igor'. Her Impreza is called 'Betty Beast', and my car 'Beemo'.
  10. Don't get the cheapest, get the one that covers you the best.
  11. Well done you, I'm genuinely pleased that you managed to move it on so quickly.
  12. I'd just go with some more 050As then fella
  13. Anyone buying a Switch in March for £280 then? Nope? Me neither. Price is fine, but with only Zelda at launch + Mario not coming until Xmas + pretty much nothing else on the horizon remotely interesting I think it's yet another Ninty console I'll be passing on. Little bit concerned that they only have 80 games in development (PS4 had 180 announced at launch), and the prices of the peripherals are ridiculous. They're also moving to paid online, which is fine as long as it's no more than the £40 XBL and PSN charge, and actually works. I'm also very disappointed that the screen is only 720p, I get that that was done to maximise battery life but it's just not good enough, not when even my iPhone has a 1080 screen and the S7 can do 1440! Apart from Zelda, there's nothing there that interests me at all. Three hours of battery life on that game too, which seems a bit short. And only 900p on the tellybocks allegedly...

    275/40/18 good wet tyre

I agree with G Man, Pirellis are utter gash in the wet in my experience. MPSS significantly better, which is why I'm inclined to believe my own experiences over something that's been notorious for handing out winning prizes to the manufacturer of the test track they borrowed for the day.
  15. According to the wiki, the pour point is what you say but it's also much more affected by the paraffin content of the oil: High pour point, high paraffin content. So would that make the bottom one 'not as good' in terms of quality as the top? That's how I read it, but I don't know how paraffin content affects the quality of the oil or it's intended purpose overall.
  16. He would know better than me, however it shouldn't do: the whole point of the numbers is so you know how oils behave compared with each other at fixed measurements. http://www.upmpg.com/tech_articles/motoroil_viscosity/ is possibly the easiest to understand version of the data I've seen. If you look at the tables, it gives the limits as to where an oil will sit based on how it performs. That said, my knowledge of oils isn't infallible by any means, this is just my understanding of them at a very basic level. It would seem very odd if by altering one rating the other then moved relative to a competing oil, as otherwise what's the point in giving measurements at all?
  17. 75w-90 will be permanently thicker than 75w-85, as it's the last number that dictates ultimate viscosity at a set temperature (100c). It'll be identical when cold, that's the 75w bit. Will the difference be noticeable? Possibly, but it'll also prevent against wear better.
  18. Oh you don't want me anywhere near a can of spray paint, trust me
  19. I wouldn't ditch the fronts to make way for them, I'd wait until the fronts were ready to go along with the rears and then change.
  20. Ditch the lot, go MPSS all round. 040s are dreadful, get rid of them. TR1s are also appalling, I actually prefer the 040s as at least they don't melt when it's sunny EDIT Ah hang on, this is in the 370 bit (stupid mobile app). In that case just stick with the 050As if you're happy with them, they're a decent tyre.
  21. QUICK FOLKS, HE WORKS AT HALFORDS, HE MUST BE AN INFILTRATOR! GET HIM!!!
  22. No different to just rubbing the dirt directly into your paint. Fine if you don't mind a car covered in swirls that looks great at 20m, not so great if you like your paintwork even a little bit.
  23. I'd be removing it from the car completely, no question about it then. I mean, if you're never going to use it.
