  1. Craig, how would you define 'really juicy'? Number of posts? Posts per hour? Whether x poster posts in there?
  2. I shall also migrate to imgur now. I've no issues with PB, however if that's the will of the people then so be it. However, if it's sh*t I'm coming back and moaning like crazy at everyone who has recommended it on here.
  3. Will was entertaining, and whilst many a tall tale was told he was at least a nice guy. Dblock was just one of life's total knobends who could pick a fight in an empty room.
  4. *facepalm* You clearly didn't read my post. First paragraph clearly states points that are nothing to do with racing round mountain passes, but that are applicable to every day commute driving. Go and watch all of Reg Local's YT vids, you'll notice that he's not remotely racing anywhere at all, but rather takes a more IAM-based (well, ex-police pursuit really) viewpoint on driving. Everything he mentions there will improve every aspect of your driving far more than even 100bhp more will. His books are good as well, but the videos explain it rather better. If you can't see how any of that would assist you as a driver, then I don't know what will. Power is nothing without control.
  5. TV... culture... nope, not seeing the link there.
  6. If you've got the cash, then Cup2s all the way. They're much more wet weather friendly now than the original Cups used to be, the GT3/RS/Speciale guys are more than happy with them in all conditions.

That front end is way, way too fussy. The mk1 definitely looks better in that regard.
  8. You're missing the point: It's not about racing, it's about being a better drive. Heel and toe means you're saving your drivetrain from wear, placing yourself in the best places for corners means you can see if any hazards are approaching etc. Tyres and tarmac could save you and your car from damage even in queuing rush hour traffic. None of that is relevant to racing, it just makes you a better driver on regular roads. The fact is it can then be transferred to when you are on nice roads, and I don't believe for one second anyone buys a Zed just for the boring commute. It's about improving yourself as a driver, learning to be safer and more confident.

    That is proper fugly.
  10. Nah, the expense isn't worth it. Plus we always take the fun roads back from LM, so I wouldn't want to ruin those just to save a bit of tyre wear. It's one of those personal things, some people would find my car horribly twitchy and nervous, but I'd probably find theirs an understeering blob It's all about balance really, I could go far more aggressive but then I'd chew through tyres in a couple thousand miles, and no way could I afford tyres that quickly.
  11. Essentially if you run toe out then when you turn the steering wheel, the front tyres are already pointing into the corner so you get much sharper turn in. In general it makes the car more unstable, rubbish for straight lines (it'll tramline like a bitch on the motorway) but ace for the twisties.
  12. I run a f*ck-ton of toe out I'm also running maximum camber at the front too, hence everything wears that little bit quicker. The rears I run with minimum camber, but I do like to slide the back end a tad... Hard to say on mileage as I've swapped tyres around a fair bit, but at a guess I'd say about 12K on the fronts and probably 8k from the rears, which is about right given the usage of the car. If I set everything up to be OEM and pootled everywhere then I'd probably double that, I reckon.
  13. I'm tempted but only because I do want to try the 4s. I have no issue running trackday rubber all year round, it's only a fun car after all.
  14. Blimey, two years today. That's gone quick. Looks a bit different now too! OSF wheel bearing, brake fluid and very rusty rear brake lines all changed out yesterday, so she's good to go now for Friday. Tyres are looking a little low (down to 3mm front and rear on the inside) now, so will have to do some serious thinking sooner rather than later on the tyre front.
  15. Inflation actually makes £600 in '93 worth £1120 today, so definitely not far off at all.
  16. Fully comp not an option in Greece?
  17. Apologies for the slight thread drift, but this is something I've never understood. If you spent your money on making yourself a better driver, then you'd be quicker in every single car you ever drive in the future. If you spend your money on going quicker in a straight line in your current car, then you're back to square one when you move on. Improving ourselves as drivers is the one on-going challenge that every single driver ever can do, regardless of budget. Even simple things like learning how how to position your car correctly at corners, or learning to heel & toe, these things will make just as much of a difference driving in town as they will on the open roads. You can be as good a driver as you want to be, and it's a transferable skill. Without doubt, if you spent £1000 on driver training you'd be quicker than if you spent £1000 on an exhaust and remap.
  18. I just do VED by DD because I'm too lazy to remember to tax every 6/12 mths
  19. Dreadful, aren't they? My MPSS are down to 3mm on mine now, so need changing. Not sure whether to try the MPS4s just for sh*ts and giggles, or go straight to 888Rs.
  20. 130i is a cracking little car, best mentioned so far.
  21. The 4s (as opposed to the 4S) are available in 18", 4S only in 19" & 20" I believe. It may change, but I doubt it.
  22. Old news, still a stupid name. So many people are going to end up with regular 4s thinking theure 4seses.
  23. I like it when buying privately, and they ask how much for cash Finance is better for dealers, more likely to get money off if you take it out with then than with cash.
