  1. Oh god that yellow one looks soooooooo good
  2. Suspension I accept will need replacing regardless for track stuff, so that side of things I'm less fussed about. Good to know about the plastic window, that's a definite no-no for me. Hardtop is an interesting one, personally I don't really like them as they always make the cars look a little awkward (not just S2Ks, anything: MR2s, 911s, E46 etc) and then you end up in the situation where you get a day like today which is glorious sunshine but cold, and you then have more of a faff to pop the roof off (or can't if you're already out and about). Does make a difference to NVH and warmth though.
  3. Hmm, not really feeling those if I'm honest. I quite like the first ones you posted though!
  4. Okay, so definitely looks like rust is the big killer, which is a massive shame. Budget isn't huge if I'm honest so I was looking at high milers/early cars, mechanical stuff going wrong doesn't concern me as long as it's not complete engine time. Anything else I consider fair wear and tear, unless they're particularly awkward to sort or rare bits. Go on, anything in particular? Wanting a 2 seater, convertible, able to take a pounding on track without costing a fortune in expendables, lighter the better, needs a fair bit of oomph. The plan is next year to do the Bookatrack Iberia trip, which is 3 trackdays in 6 days: Portimao, Jerez and Estoril. Need something comfy for the trip down, able to be ragged silly, then driven home again. Like I say, Elise and Boxster are the other options, although Elise is likely out of price range unless an S1 and I'm not sure I trust the K-series that much...! Boxster could simply be a bit dull, I've tracked a Cayman R and it wasn't as fun as my old MX5. Also considered a Z4 E85 3L Si, as I reckon that could actually be a pretty good option. The car also has to be usable for wifey, and won't be a stripped out track special. He did, but not for very long IIRC as he wanted the Jaaaaaaaag. Well reminded though, I'll tap him up Thank you mate, that's excellent I've driven a couple of S2Ks, one on road and one on track, and loved them both but it just wasn't the right time.
  5. I guess my biggest issue with that is I can't solo for toffee Never appealed to me when I was younger, so I stuck with rhythm playing as I find it more fun. I mean, I can play basic solos but nothing proper fast or anything. Just never been my cup of tea, no idea why.
  6. And I hate to say it, but unless you have a contract somewhere about that loan then you can write it off now, unless she's very decent. I would start treating this more like a business relationship from now on: She's already mentioned about various finances, so sit down and make a lit of who owes each person what. Come up with a payment schedule, get it in writing and get it signed before she realises what a nice position she's actually in. Don't let yourself get walked over here mate.
  7. Oh man, really?! Well that's just a bit sh*t, I thought modern Jap cars didn't suffer from that any more What's a compliance bush?
  8. I have that effect too, it's a little bit clever It does have a looper, but it's a bit of a faff to get to sadly (told you!) but it is really cool when you get it working. I need to explore that a bit more really, might have a noodle around tonight I think.
  9. That's a p3, so a search for that should yield the correct results But basically it's everything you can think of
  10. Definitely do Spa over the Ring next time, it's so much better, I'd rather do one lap of Spa than ten laps of the Ring
  11. Must be some ex-owners on here, anyone fancy giving me a quick guide before I go and buy the first one I see? More after the general owning experience rather than the differences between years: What stuff needs replacing reasonably often (like the banana arm on the 350), any issues with higher-mileage ones to particularly be aware of that could give a big bill, how's the aftermarket support in terms of costs/variety etc. I've driven a few so I know they're ace, just want to go in eyes open before committing. Boxster I know, Elise I know, Stook not so much. Come mortals, spoon feed me your tasty Honda-flavoured goodness!
  12. Oh man, you HAVE to do Spa! Imagine the drama of Anglesey, and the history of the Ring, and then combine them so you end up with something better than either. Just absolutely magical to drive, I so need to get back out there.
  13. I had to google that model, never heard of it! Man, things have definitely come a long way Personally I really love the Digitech stuff, in terms of tone and options and definitely manufacturing I reckon they're right up there with the best. The only thing I think they fall down on is usability, as sometimes to do the simple stuff it takes an age whereas the complex things you never use seem to be really easy to access. The only thing I don't like on mine is that I can't have two modulating FX at the same time, so no chorus and flanger together for example. Not a combo I use often, but it would be nice to have the option. In fairness most other boards are the same, and I get that it's processor limited, it's just a minor annoyance. Whilst part of me would love an old-skool setup of actual pedals on a lump of wood, it's also a major cost and a major faff. For someone who likes experimenting a lot, then I would never be able to cope with something so 'limited' as a handful of set pedals. Each to their own though, if I had my own definite tone that never changed then I'd be happy to simplify.
  14. Have you driven Anglesey before? It's my second favourite track, just behind Spa.
  15. Sounds ace My RP1000 does the harmony stuff too, it's just a little more awkward to use as it wants to count in it's own way rather than something practical. Stuff like that has come on so much in recent years though, you're absolutely spot-on, my older RP6 used to have a go at it but the delay was horrendous
  16. Great read, I love this kind of thread It's tyre not tire though
  17. And I know it's easier said than done cutting contact completely, but the quicker you do it the quicker you can have your own life back. Ultimately, that's the most important thing here.
  18. Ditch completely and move on. It never, ever works to keep seeing them if you're the one with the feelings. Ever. The lad will get over it. It's his mum's job to make sure he's okay, not yours: I know that seems harsh, but right now you have to look after yourself. If you're in no fit state, then kids will pick up on that and you'll make everyone miserable and him confused. You could write him a letter and try and explain things, but only you will know whether this is the right call and whether he will accept it.
  19. Although only if I don't set the alarm off again
  20. How do you find the amp modelling on that? Do you run it via the Marshall, or direct to PC/PA?
  21. That sounds a bit low to me, plus the noise test is carried out at 4800rpm.
