  1. Maser 4200 Golf R (but they’re common as muck, I know) S2000 BRZ86 (I want one of these next) Any good?
  2. After my VXR I went for something that was the polar opposite, so I wouldn’t spend all my time comparing it and wishing I hadn’t swapped. That car was the 350Z, so it was FR not MR, NA not turbo, heavy not light etc. Not sure if that helps you or not, I’ll try and think of some options
  3. 458 Challenge by the looks of it.
  4. You used a waterless wash on the exterior paint. I am so disappoint it hurts. My brother, it feels like you’ve stolen one of my children. But worse.
  5. It’s not road tax. Hasn’t been for donkeys years.
  6. Actually, I will assume that Ms Daisy has no interest in one of these at all: considering the vast majority of people who actually buy these kinds of cars aren’t going to buy one either, it’s safe to assume that the likelihood of Ms Daisy’s suddenly deciding to get one cos it has electric steering is tiny. And I’m not talking about going non-PAS, there was nothing wrong with the steering in the 370 and I’ve yet to meet an EPAS rack that bettered the hydraulic generation. Hardly likely that this is going to set the world on fire in that regard. We’re going off track here though, my original point was the joke of Nissan saying that this is an upgrade, which it isn’t.
  7. £75, or one tank of fuel honestly, why people worry about road taxes on these kind of cars is beyond me.
  8. You don’t need different steering modes in any car, get it right the first time and that’s it. I’ve never ever driven any car where the “light steering” option felt anything other than utterly stupid. Not saying that electric steering can’t be good, as it can, but saying it’s an upgrade is a huge stretch.
  9. “Upgraded with electric steering” That’s not an upgrade.

    370z or 135i

So what did you think of each one?

I think you might need to provide a few more details, and drive both to see what you want.
  12. What’s the betting you can’t have the sport steering mode on in comfort mode, and vice versa? And you can guarantee that one mode or the other will feel awful too. That’s a nice blue it’s offered in, best colour yet.
  13. 200kg heavier and less power than the R8 V10 Plus launched in the same year doesn’t seem massively trim to me, tbh. And no, I couldn’t believe there was that much in it either! Against something like that, I guess it’s easy to see why it never really got going despite solid reviews. Numbers from wiki, btw.
  14. Good. Knobbish thing to be doing tbh, impresses no one and he’d already had his warning.
  15. I’d assume gearbox failure just in case, so potentially a £2k bill on top. If you still want it at that price then yes, it’s a good deal.
  16. Hit car seems stretching it I always thought there was a great car under there, hidden under some questionable styling. The interior especially was worthy of more, and whilst the outside looks fine in pics it’s lacking something in the flesh. Couldn’t tell you what, but something. Imagine one in the Lime Green that Honda offered the S2K in though…
  17. Makes it look like a Dino!! Honest, I’ve seen Max Power Corsas circa 1998 look better than that GRGR86 monstrosity.
  18. It’s a lump of metal that sits between the wheel and the hub, how good does it need to be?! No need to be daft about it with the plastic comment, but there’s no need to spend silly money on uber-lightweight forged items when some cnc alloy spacer will do the exact same job, unless of course you’re all about the weight saving and are running carbon fibre wheels. And if you are then good for you, but for 99% of people there is no point spending a fortune on something so basic. Besides, if you already have your perfect spacer, then you wouldn’t be looking at these as you’ve clearly done your research.
  19. A spacer is a spacer, JR are a well known brand, I wouldn’t expect these to differ from the Eibach by much if at all. Can be fitted front or rear but very unusual to fit in only pairs. Your twitchiness is more likely due to a poor geo and/or tyre issues in all honesty, certainly things to address before even contemplating spacers. Worth starting a thread elsewhere about it, if you haven’t already.
  20. It’s just a sticker, hit eBay for 6spd stickers if you really want one in the car
