No joy today then?

I wouldn't be doing the IoM when I was breaking an engine in. You'll hate yourself! Laps of the M25 my friend, that's the way forward

Anyone upgraded their Sony Playstation 4 storage?

Do they not just automatically download? Mine did when I had to get a replacement Xbone. -
Actually, I was only talking to friends about that today. So ner

I could never get excited by something that looked like that. Aside from the Corolla, is there a duller '90s car? My god, even the MG-ZS did it better!

Go and thrash the nuts off the brakes, see if it gets better. 5x stops from 50-30 light pressure 5x stops from 70-40 med pressure 5x stops from 100-40 hard as you can but without triggering ABS Give it a couple of mins driving at 70mph inbetween each session to allow the brakes to cool. Do each application as quick as you can, so lots of acceleration too.

Disks are square, discs are round. Floppy disk, brake disc How obvious is the warping (and are you sure it's warping, not pad transfer)? If it's not that noticeable I'm not sure I'd worry about it, if it is and would detract from an otherwise perfect car then always replace. They'll only haggle you down on cost anyway, best not to give people too much ammo.

Why do you want thicker oil? You'll lose performance as more energy will be used pushing the oil around rather than being delivered to the drivetrain. I mean, I'd do it for FI applications as they will generate more heat anyway, but for NA? Unless it's a track monster, I'm not sure it's needed.

They had to take it away as too many people were using it on my posts, and it was in danger of overloading the forum. Sorry 'bout that.

I just did some research and basic maths to work out just how much the NHS spends. According to the NHS Confederation, budget for this FY is just over £120Bn. Break that down per day and you get to a total of over £300M. Per day. Every day. Ouch. So when any of the political parties (and I do mean any) say they're going to spend X amount extra on the NHS, then it really should be compared with that figure. As an example, I looked up the LibDem 2015 manifesto (p67/68, as we were speaking about the LD above I figured I'd go take a look) and they said that they wanted to spend an extra £8Bn on the NHS. Sounds great, a whole 6% extra! 6% is peanuts, it's like earning £250 a week and getting an extra £15 in your pocket, it ain't going to set your world on fire. All of this assumes that NHS costs won't increase YOY, which of course they will because inflation and population etc. I'm not actually picking on the LD specifically for this at all, as if you check the Tory manifesto in 2015 (p37) it makes the exact same promise, £8Bn increase per year by 2020. So this is the evil Tories vs cuddly LDs promising the same thing. For balance I looked at the Lab manifesto too (p40): They simply promised to spend £2.5Bn more than the Tories, which was to go on 8k GPS + 20k nurses + 3k midwives. Again though, an extra £8Bn still makes chuff all difference. When these parties are promising X amount of money, it really means nothing and won't make a real world difference unless they're talking MUCH bigger figures. I've not checked, but I suspect all three made the same kinda promised about education too. It's all a crock of shite, there's simply not enough money to support the public services right now regardless. Tax the wealthy more and they'll simply leave, tax the public more and you'll just make us all hate you. I'm not saying there's not a difference between parties, or that you shouldn't bother at all, what I'm saying is don't believe all the numbers that get thrown around. Although you now see why people are getting twitchy over the £100Bn Brexit bill, as it would be enough to pay for the whole NHS for almost an entire year...

Fluid will be fine, I'm not a massive fan of EBC discs but again they do a job. Lines done already I take it?

I use Krystal hosting for all my stuff, excellent customer service and a good option of base products to choose from. Sounds like you need two different things: One is a website designed, and the other is hosting for it. Most design places will be able to offer this as one, but very few hosting companies will (or will sub it out anyway). Can I ask what business it is?

It's like I've stepped into Modified Taxi Monthly or something.
-
What discs and fluid? Z-rated will be okay, I don't think they'll cope as well as the 2500 on the fronts for track work tbh but they'll do a job nicely. And they'll be better than stock or dead ones for sure!

I always thought it was more like "Hey loser, you want to drive over that way? With power? MWAHAHAHAH FU! I'M GONNA SCRABBLE AND SHAKE AND MAKE YOU WORK FOR IT YOU LITTLE BITCH! When I'm done, you'll have no idea which way the wheels are pointing and every corner will be terrifying, but terrifying like I'm going to rape your face with a hacksaw instead of terrifying like a great rollercoaster! COME ON, WHERE YOU AT?!" Or something like that. Ahem. In all seriousness, torque steer is the worst thing I've ever experienced in a car in terms of killing fun. Understeer you can work around if you play with weight transfer (up to a point, it's still not very pleasant), but torque steer just leaves you feeling out of control regardless of what you're actually doing, and it just wrecks any subtle inputs you try to make. A little wee smidgen of it I can live with, bagfuls of it wrenching at the wheel really isn't my idea of fun at all. This is the main reason I hated our old R56 Mini CS so much, and why I can't understand how people actually like them so much.

Facelift has headlights rather than candles, which is also a useful addition at night

What gives you that idea? Girly wusses eat Marmite. Real men eat Bovril.
-
Another good reason to buy quality. Exception is for emergency top ups, then anything will do as it's better than running on air!
-
I'd rather my car smelled of sh*t tbh.
-
I dunno, given how critical the brakes are I'd rather a more sensitive system there than anywhere else.
-
Sounds like a dodgy MAF to me. Give it a clean with some carb cleaner first, see if that makes a difference, else try and swap with a known good one just to rule it out. Thicker oil is not always a good thing on modern engines as they're designed for thinner stuff because of tight tolerances. What are you running now? Personally I'd go with a 5w-30 from Fuchs GT1 or Millers Nanodrive, better a quality oil than a thicker one IMHO.
-
I ran the 01 on the front and the Z-rated on the rear, both with their 2-piece discs. Absolutely wonderful things for track or road, certainly no dustier than anything else comparable but with excellent feel and stopping power. Much better than the RS14s or 2500s IMHO. Many people do use the 2500s on here though and are content with them. What PF pads are you looking at? Bear in mind the Ring isn't particularly hard on brakes at all.

I'd buy the one in best condition. High mileage HR over a low mileage DE any day though. Revups are worth it for the better interior and more importantly the extra 500rpm which transforms the driving experience, however you do need to be aware that some have been known to burn oil a fair bit. I'd put it at about 20% of cars, going on here over the years. I had one, it was absolutely fine. We've seen a fair amount of DE engines go pop in the last year or so, although I don't believe there's any correlation there to be found. Ignore anyone who says that the VED cost should be an issue at all: It's the equivalent of an extra pint of beer a week, and the cost will pale into the amount you'll spend on fuel over the year. Haggle £500 off the cost of the car you buy and the extra is paid for for two years
-
Would it be too much to have a have that smells like it looks though?! Imagine what odour you'd need if your car was brown though...
-
No worse than a bottle of Redex. Won't do any harm, but also I don't expect it to work miracles either. If you're going to use anything, you want one of the aerosols you spray into the intake post-MAF whilst someone keeps the engine ticking over to 2K rpm: That stuff clears A LOT of crap out of teh system, you'll see clouds of black smoke billowing down the street! I used to use the 10K Boost stuff, but it doesn't look like you can get it any more sadly.
