  1. Oh I agree, I wasn't replying directly to you matey. Does my head in when Jo doesn't watch any news at all. Makes having a conversation about current affairs impossible!
  2. In fairness, I should point out I've changed my tune on Brexit and would now vote for it if it were held again tomorrow.
  3. I can kinda see where TT350 is coming from, tbh. It wasn't just a firdge freezer, it was a Hotpoint fridge freezer model number FF175BP or FF175BG, and suddenly we're being told to contact the manufacturer despite there being no question so far that there was anything untoward in the design of said appliance. Straight away Hotpoint are going to suffer short-term, and that doesn't seem very fair to me. It's details being released for no reason other than to panic people. Same as with Premier Inn. People died, and someone will go to jail because of that. Not because they deserve to, in fact it may yet prove to be a catalogue of errors, but this is so public that if there is no prosecution then the CPS will be slaughtered in the press. Rather than simply seek to find the truth and make sure it never happens again, there's this rampant undercurrent of desire to punish someone, anyone. It's been festering for a while now (look how the intelligence services got attacked over Manchester and London), and this is just an extension of it. I'm not saying there should be no prosecution if someone has broken the law, but it could at least wait until the investigation is complete, which we're a light year from.
  4. Col is one of the few people using facts to back his arguments up. I don't always agree with them, but it makes his arguments more robust than just "Everything will be amazing, you'll see!". It really, really won't. Not in the short term. And TM and her rubbish election campaign is going to massively hurt us further down the line.
  5. I've said it elsewhere on this thread, but I really didn't enjoy the new one despite adoring the previous one. Too rushed, you lose 90% of the opportunities if you don't just dive in. No time to relax and suss things out.
  6. Truth. I remember taking a ride with an ex-Carrera Cup GB champion, and his control (not speed) was absolutely out of this world. He had a 911 doing things I would never have imagined.
  7. You ain't kidding there! I usually swap when I can get a go in theirs, on the provision that if they break mine I'm taking their car home! On the road, I prefer to chuck my keys to someone and let them go off and drive it on their own rather than have me with them. I'd rather they experienced it how they want, rather than be worrying about fluffing a gear change or wondering if I'm picking holes in their driving. If I trust them enough to drive it, then I want them to enjoy that experience fully.
  8. I think we'll look back in twenty years and realise that Brexit was the best thing to happen to the UK. I still believe we're in for a very rough time before then which will affect my life more than having a rosy time when I'm looking to retire.
  9. Which isn't entirely a bad idea, but it's politically unsustainable right now. And tbh I reckon we can do better than that as a country, it'll just take time.
  10. I'd say that's definitely VFM! I've no issue paying £80 for something like Fallout 4 with the season pass, as I know I'll get 100+ hours out of that easy. I don't mind paying £50 for Forza, but I don't bother with the car packs (Porsche one excluded) as I don't feel I get the real benefit when there's so many cars included from the off. Very much depends on the game.
  11. As long as you enjoy it, and the extra content gives VFM, then why would you not buy it? I mean, if there's other games that will give you better VFM or that you'd enjoy more then sure, don't buy it, but otherwise just get it and enjoy it. The standalone game should give you all you need, then it's up to you if you want to buy the DLC or not.
  12. It's a false positive though. It's a very short term gain, things are going badly for the guy in the street and it's not looking good for the immediate future. In five years time things may well be amazing, but I struggle to see many positives in the next year or so.
  13. Like a Zagato version. There's some bits of that I really like.
  14. I finished AC2 again last night, only the second time I've ever played it through. Killing the Pope is awesome, although I'm disappointed that the Sistene Chapel doesn't have the full range of art on the wall: If you look, it's the same two paintings (albeit faithfully recreated from real life) duplicated. AssBro shall be started tonight
  15. Put it this way, I've never seen Americans go so quiet so quickly
  16. Sorry that was my edit of the title on the "throughing lights", will correct. For once I wasn't taking the mickey, I genuinely wondered if it was illuminating the CEL as well as the other lights!
  17. You have no idea just how insane it was watching that unfold in a grandstand that seemed to be 50/50 Brits/Yanks. Plenty of yeehahs and whooping, then a lap later a load of get-ins and yeeeeeeses. So much atmosphere, it was ace and is already one of my all-time favourite LM memories.
  18. Despite the fact we won't see even a third of the stuff in the Speech, I see little to dislike. Brexit stuff seems reasonable, they've ditched the nonsense stuff that should never have gotten anywhere near the manifesto, and there's some other interesting bits in there. The Good Mortgages bill looks both excellent and ridiculous at the same time. I'm keen to see the details of this, as although protection from logbook loans is very much needed some of the other bits removes too much emphasis on people to not be stupid with money. Space Industry bill is fantastic news, HS2 bill can FRO and die a death. Useless idea and waste of money.
  19. And is it throwing a CEL as well as the VDC/Slip lights?
  20. It's the ABS sensors. Nowt to do with tyres at all.
  21. Black pepper sprinkled lightly on the roof for a few days. Won't harm roof nor cat, cat won't stay there at all.
  22. SUVs etc have their place, but ultimately leave a driver unfulfilled dynamically. Great cars, and straight lines can of course be fun, but a low slung sports coupe or roadster will always be sooooo much more fun. Personally I'd run two cars, or at least make the one car an RWD estate. Keep the CoG low and the drive out the back.
  23. I should've charged for those, y'know.
  24. That'll be the M3, not the tyres. It's a horrible spiteful arse of a car that tries to kill people. I hate it.
