Seat versus Tesla, not a good result for either.. UPDATED page 6
Ekona replied to gangzoom's topic in Other Cars
I'm not optimistic, I just know my rights and how to get what I need. I managed to get my car repaired rather than written off when a lorry drove into it, which is easier said than done on a 12 year old BMW that had depreciated like a stone. For GZ, this is incredibly straightforward. I wouldn't be concerned at all, and if he wants a hand he only has to ask. -
All of them, I think. But that's what it takes to get to the top, they're all as bad as each other on their day. I like Seb as a person, and rate him massively as a driver. But this wasn't on at all.

Humpys 370... Another not going to mod thread ;)

What colour is it? Which wrap? -
Just a sh*t cat then. I'd be irritated too tbh, but Adrian is correct when he says that no manufacturer would guarantee an emissions pass. One of those things, sadly.

Only just seen the Vet/Ham footage. How on earth Seb only got a 10 sec S&G for that, I've no idea. Clearly Lewis wasn't at fault in the slightest as the stewards had a good look at his data trace and took no action, but how you can get away with pulling alongside and ramming your car into the safety car (which is what Lewis was at that point), I've no idea at all. That's mind boggling stuff. At the very minimum he should've been black flagged and removed from the race, more reasonably would've been to have had a 3-5 race ban. This wasn't an over-ambitious move into a corner, or screaming down the pit lane, this was deliberately ramming another car at low speed because you had the hump. Inexcusable behaviour, from both Seb and the stewards.

Sometimes they just need to get really hot before taking the test, did they try that?

Suffice to say a HEPA filter is not exactly worth worrying about, and if the insurers have to pay more to get the colour you had then who cares? It's not betterment in terms of spec if you get exactly what you had, and the cost is the cost. Imagine if you bought a LaFerrari a couple of years back for £1M, they're now going for £4.5M so that's what they'd have to cough up. Not something I'd lose any sleep over. I appreciate you're upset about losing your dream car, but you're going to get 99% of the exact same car back but newer: Seriously, chill out and just let things happen. These things happen, it's all going to get sorted, it may just take time. Life's too short to sweat stuff like this. -

Single cat compared with two is never going to be as good, better to either run normal cats or decats & change for MOT I reckon. Personally I'd do the latter, even if the MOT place charges you £50 for the privilege.

Advice needed from anyone with BC BR coilovers.

Well worth changing those as well, that'll really let you fine tune the handling -

So what options do Tesla no longer offer on a new X? -

Get HDEV to do a proper corner weighting setup for you too, that'll make a massive difference. In terms of stiffness settings (fnar), I found that 8F/10R from full stiff gave a good balance on a 350 (assuming you've gone for the stock spring settings), but ultimately it's down to the roads you drive on and how harsh a ride you're prepared to put up with. When CG set mine up on the Bummer we found that 10F/15R worked best, however on track I shifted that to 5/10 and then forgot to change it back before I left. I now leave it on 5/10 permanently as I'm happy to sacrifice comfort for turn in. Stock ARBs? -
Oh god please don't put songs over videos like that, we want to hear car noises Any issues with fuel cut on low fuel? The one my friend runs is always doing that mid-corner if the tank is below half full, most frustrating thing ever as it's not like it's got bags of torque to pull you out of a hole when it's cut all power!

A new car, which is what you'll end up with. It doesn't matter what you paid for yours, if prices have risen then that's not your problem, it's the insurance company's. I don't know the spec of the Model Xs but they can't change that dramatically, as it's not like they've suddenly deleted the sports pack or the V8 from the options list What options does yours have that are no longer available? -
Done another buy: 1960 Tribute Plus, so Epiphone MIC body but with Gibson '57 pups & Grover tuners, plus fancy hard case. It's absolutely gorgeous to play, even though it's not the lightest thing I own, but I do prefer a heavy guitar sometimes. The tone is out of this world, and I've also picked up a THD Hotplate attentuator as well so I can drive the V30 really hard now and this thing just sings. Love it

Ah I see, sorry. That'll be covered anyway, as it's not GZ's insurance paying out it's the TP's, which means that they'll have to put him back where he was and I believe that generally speaking a car that's less than 6 months old (may even be a year) will always be replaced with a brand-new one. Certainly something as specific as a Tesla will be, any way. -

GAP still wouldn't cover VED or supercharger benefits, it only ever refers to the invoice price of the vehicle. -
Actually I think they've got a fair point: Why should someone who has been successful in life and worked hard to get to where they are be given the same things as those who haven't? Nowt wrong with putting them there as a temporary solution, but it's not fair on anyone if they get to live there permanently. We see this all the time on a smaller scale, when the council decides to house crappy tenants next door to someone who is just an Average Joe, and then it turns out that the person is absolute scum and doesn't give a rat's ass about anything, generally being a crappy neighbour. I'm not saying that all who lived in Grenfell Tower were scum, but at the same time it's easy to see why the folks who live in the nicer parts of Kensington may not be happy with the decision. People fear change, and people rightly get the hump when others are given stuff for free that they've had to work hard for. Also let's not forget that some of the tenants were also on the group of people that decided not to worry about trivial things like fire safety. No-one deserved what happened, but sometimes the blame doesn't always lie with those at the top.

It's a new car, so you'll get a brand new one in return. You won't get anything back for the VED as it's a future cost so you haven't lost yet (same as with insurance premium increases), and likewise the lack of free supercharger access. You could sue at a later time once you've sold the car, but I wouldn't waste my time tbh. Why would you need to take time off work, unless injured? Plenty of people manage to get on with their lives after an accident. In terms of a courtesy car, please just get something that will work rather than the expensive equivalent: All you'll do is push everyone's premiums up otherwise. A generic estate car/small SUV will be plenty fine for a few months. -
FF is great fun for a big car, isn't it? I'd love one of those, the missus wanted one in yellow just to annoy our local dealer principal as he hated the idea!

So sorry for your losses Pete, that must've been so hard Eagerly awaiting pics of the little ones though

You can still go to jail for that, yeah. Rarely done, but in this case I think there may be a political desire for it to happen. Put it this way, I'm glad I'm not the director of the company that installed the cladding/firestopping. And yeah, I run this risk every day by working with potable water. It's terrifying if you ever stop to think about just what would happen if you didn't disinfect something properly...

I think it's been better so far than expected, ignoring the dramatic drop in value of the pound that's a terrible thing, but I don't think we've seen the worst and won't until the Brexit negotiations are done with. And speaking of them, I really hope they're not done in public like we've seen today about the UK offer to EU immigrants. FFS both TM and EU, keep your feelings on the matters private, stop sharing it with everyone!

No idea if that pic works, hosted on FB, apologies if not. It's a very hot little Shatten (used to be a Kitten, then she became a little sh*t so became the Shitten, now she's not a fully grown cat so she's a Catten, but she's still a sh*t so is the Shatten now ). Or Lexi as her given name.
