Not true, they can write the car off exactly the same as your own insurer can sadly. Look at it this way: If the TPI (third party insurer) wants to write it off but you don't agree, then you go through your own insurer and ask them to repair and claim back costs. They look at it, then agree with the TPI that it's a write off financially, so you're back to square one and it's in every insurance contract that you agree to let your insurer handle each claim as they see fit. The only alternative you have is to cancel the claim completely and repair yourself. Sometimes this can work out for the best, especially if the car is worth peanuts or you don't want to lose NCB (although you still have to declare the accident regardless), but I don't think that's a realistic case here.

I dunno, I'm not really sure it's thought provoking at all. As a child who doesn't know any better then sure, it's amazing, but as a fully grown adult (mostly) with an evolved sense of logic I cannot see religion of any kind as anything other than a piece of fiction with the best PR ever. I find science and how atoms and energy and forces combine to be fascinating and thought provoking, and can spend hours wasting away on Wikipedia researching the history of the universe. Whilst I enjoy the art and romance of religion, I don't take it any more seriously than the latest episode of GoT. I respect people's rights to believe in whatever they wish, but I can't say that a little bit of me deep down doesn't immediately write someone off intellectually if they're a hardcore believer.

Well, they didn't come from a magical being sat in the clouds, that's for sure.

I'll be incredibly disappointed if I'm not joining you.

Dear god yes. Like night and day, and I say that as a fan of the 660. The only reason I stopped using the Endless was that the warranty on the car I bought after wouldn't allow it, and with the BMW I'd pretty much double the value by using it Actually, I really should give that a go now it's a reasonable price.

For me, it boils down to this: If you want to be a good person or a bad person, just go ahead and do it. You don't need some unprovable nonsense to justify how you choose to live your life. If kids weren't indoctrinated by their parents, and only learnt about religion from studies, do you think they would choose to follow? Not aimed at you Davey, just a general question.

Speaking of the fluid, this is the cheapest I've seen it for a long time, bargain :)
-
I found the Performance Friction 01 on the fronts and Z-rated on the rear of mine to be the best combo I tried, but that was in conjunction with PF 2-piece discs and Endless fluid (that stuff is immense btw). If I were you I'd be going for a set of the CL5+ or CL6E pads, right now I don't think there's much better out there.

Does it cover third parties as well? That's what concerns me about accidents at the Ring, as that's where the big payouts will come.

TFR will strip wax, so that's fine if that's the goal. Personally I only use the stuff on commercial vehicles, as it can be quite harsh if you're not careful. But then, that's the idea!

A square tyre setup will make the VDC far more likely to intervene (like much, much more) as you'll have altered the balance front to rear. This will make the car far more likely to oversteer, so you'll probably want to run with the VDC off permanently to stop it ruining all the fun. Unless you know what you're doing and are happy for a tail happy car, most people are better off running a staggered tyre setup. You can still do that on square setup wheels, if that's the goal. Not passing judgement on driving skills, just saying what works for the majority.

Did you ask what sponge it was? Could've been a Zymol or DJ one... Not all sponges are created equal, and there's a good argument for using a decent sponge over a wash mitt. Also a good argument the other way, mind!

How To Do Things In The New Forum

Gotcha Personally I would be against that as a change to the global settings, as you can see who the thread starter was already because it tells you, but if there's an option for it later down the line I can see why some might want that.- 57 replies

Not sure what you mean by that? Makes sense to me, Col is the one who just replied so it's his avatar on display: Do you mean you'd want the OP avatar shown all the time?- 57 replies

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/formula1/40488056 Vettel to face NFA. Basically I suspect they had a meeting, read him the riot act and made him make a statement saying how it was all his fault and he was a numpty.

^^^ best knob. Loved mine, removed any need for a proper short shifter with that.

Ah yes, forgot you've got that coming up shortly. Ironically that's something I wouldn't bother with cover for, same as a Walshy day.
-
Excess will almost always be 10% of the value of the car regardless of insurer, so I would see that as about right. £130 is a bargain IMHO should some muppet plough into the side of you.
-
You can also ask for cash in lieu of repair, which saves the car being marked as a Cat D write off. You'll prob get a smaller payout, but worth considering.

I like the shape, but not the taste.

I read that thread on FB, I thought the author made a very valid point. Also, and this may just be me, but I think he's kinda hot too.

You won't get many results until the search function finishes indexing. However, when it's done then clicking 'Content I posted in' will find your stuff. Or you can just use the regular search function too, again when the forum is finished faffing.

Taking my 350z on a journey!

4'07": They're LMP3, not LMP1 That's a really good video bud, I enjoyed watching that. What time were you at St Saturnin btw? I skipped it this year as it's normally heaving, but that looks pretty quiet in your vid. -
If you don't have cover on your road insurance (REIS and CCI still offer this I believe, as do a couple of the traders on here), then I normally use either Moris or InsureMyTrackday. Moris have been great in the past but are a bit unreliable to get hold of lately so I've been using IMT. Better prices than Moris, arguably better cover, I've never made a claim with them but so far the experience has been very good. You can get online quotes too, so stick your details in and see what you get. I too work on the basis that unless I can afford to come away with no car at all then I definitely want it insured.
