Ol' Wayne Rooney has allegedly been charged with it today, but it's not like he's the first person to ever have a few then get behind the wheel. It's one crime though I just can't fathom out why people do it. I mean, I just don't get the mindset at all. I have, in my 37 years on this planet, been in many states of inebriation: A bit giggly after a beer or two, a cheerful drunk after an afternoon session, barely able to speak my own name after seriously hitting it, and hospitalised because I'm so drunk I stopped breathing*. And yet, in none of those states have I ever thought for one second it would be a good idea to get behind the wheel. Ever. It's possily the most dangerous and stupid thing that people still do on a regular basis, and I'm utterly baffled by it. Does anyone know anyone who's been done for it, and why they did it? Or has anyone been done themselves? No judging on this one from me, if you want to share your experience I promise not to pass comment on you. I just don't get it. Bloody hell Nissan, let it go already! We want to see a new Z-car (and a new GTR, while we're here) not a blink-and-you'll-miss-it refresh. Serious question, are Nissan broke at the moment? Or do they just not care about sports cars right now, maybe something to do with a lack of top-level racing? Just seems really odd to do something like this, esp when it's not like this suddenly makes the 370 a must-buy.

MPSS are better than the 050As, definitely. The MPSS will 100% be discontinued soon, indeed in non-OEM sizes they already have been, but I wouldn't worry too much about that for now. No issues with moving to XL loads at all: You'd be hard pressed to notice any difference (I can't, and that's even knowing that they're XL!).

They do include a lightweight flywheel (SMF: Single Mass Flywheel, same thing) so would be worth doing. I would only bother with the Stage 1 though, unless you are 100% sure of going FI down the line. If not, then stick with the most OEM-like option available. I ran the Exedy kit on my old car, and that saw plenty of track use too and it never left me feeling like I needed something stronger. In comparison, my old MR2 mk3 that I turbocharged was running an Ogura ceramic jobby that would take like a billion bhp: Now this meant you could happily flat-shift at WOT, but man it was an utter PITA on the road (although it was still something you could live with, if you were a narcissist like me). So no, I'd never go for something like that ever again. Worth doing though

Be careful with white vinyl inside: It can create some very nasty reflections in the sun which can dazzle you! Clutch I wouldn't bother doing unless your one needs replacing, OR you're going to add a lightweight flywheel in at the same time. It's the flywheel that will make the biggest difference to how the car responds, and for the better.

I don't understand the point of that. The Killaplate isn't road legal, so you might as well not run it (which would look better) rather than put that on. Or do I need a whoosh parrot here?

It's just a light, so it doesn't matter where you set it as it's the speed and smoothness of your shifts combined with your reaction times that makes for best progress. If you have slow reaction times and a long shift, then you're going to want to set it very early so that you have enough time to carry out the gear change before you hit the limiter. If you have a very fast reaction, then you'll want the opposite. You want to be shifting as close to the redline as possible. Where you feel you need to set the shift light is up to the individual, and no-one can give you that answer apart from you. Besides, revving engines is fun!

Anyways, as for your questions I would never mix makes of shocks front to rear, so either do all of them or match the OEM on the front. With your budget it'll definitely be the latter, although you may have to take a punt on used shocks as I doubt you'll get a new pair of rears for just £150. You'd be better served by putting new ones on by far, and something like the BC Racing or Torqen sets would get my money everyday over OEM. In in terms of pads, I'm not really sure what fitments are out there for non-Brembo, sorry.

Those wheel brushes and sunlights are good, aren't they? As always Stu, an excellent thread with great pics and easy to understand text. I've not tried the S20 Black yet, so might have to add that to the arsenal soon.

050As are very good tyres. Really, when you changed the rears you should've changed the fronts to match, so you'll have a much better and neutral handling car now. The Avons and Fkakens you mentioned are suitable for shopping trolley cars, not sports ones. Well, you can get away with the ZZ5s on a Caterham due to the really low weight, but otherwise I wouldn't put them anywhere near a performance car.

It'll come, have patience. Keep yourself busy with learning stuff, grab free books off the internet about things and read them. Expand your mind, you never know when that will come in handy.
