  1. Told ya you'd get done on the drive-by You could make it a lot quieter by getting an additional silencer cut in on the main pipe before it splits for the two cans. Get it put on flanges and it's then removable for road driving and you only need put it back on for track work. That's the easiest and cheapest way of doing it that I've found.
  2. I haven't got a problem with it, but given the amount of monitoring that goes on in that tunnel I'm not convinced that they'll be too impressed with a group of loud sports cars driving through it repeatedly whilst either a) speeding or slowing right down then gunning it in 2nd gear, and capturing it all on film. Even the seasoned tunnel runners only ever used to do the crossing once for this very reason, and preferred to head into central London to take in some of the tunnels there. How I'd know that though, I don't know. I'm not trying to be a killjoy here as whenever I go through it I very often do , but then I'm only ever going one way and carry on normally the other side. You may well get lucky and have a brilliant time, but then you may well get stopped and done for various petty offences. I think it's only fair that people know the risks.
  3. There's a minimum speed limit of 10mph IIRC, and Rich is right: They'd nick you in seconds. They might do anyway if you keep driving back and forth...
  4. Again, there's differing ways of saying things, I think we can all agree on that. I'm not saying that it's okay for 400 people to post on a thread crying "Too expensive!" as that's blatantly unfair, but to abandon all comments seems a tad draconian when there's a perfectly acceptable way for the seller to have extraneous comments removed if they so wish. The Zed in question was at the extreme end of the scale, but where do you draw the line? New Nismo exhausts are, what, £1200 now? Would it be okay for a person to offer a 3-yr old one for sale for £1150? I think we all would say that's an unreasonable price, but Joe Bloggs who has just bought his 350Z finds this place, pops on here, doesn't read all the threads about the cost of various items (which, given the lack of use of the search by some people, is already enough of a chore as it is) and sticks his head in the For Sale section hoping to grab a bargain. He knows of Nismo, sees the exhaust, doesn't see any others for sale and decides he has to have it. Through no fault of his own bar naivety, he's paid a fortune for something second hand he could've had brand new for £50 more. Again, there's a lot of ifs buts and maybes in there, but it could happen. I'm trying to make a point about FS threads in general rather than the specific thread that started this conversation. Yes, of course I agree with everyone that says that threads shouldn't be bombarded with negativity and anything breaching the realms of sensible good taste should be removed, but there will always be a case where a passing comment or two could help the site and its members, even if it's for people to say what a bargain something is and how good the seller has been with transactions in the past. There's a good side to being able to leave comments, too. As it stands now, people can ask for threads to be locked and removed of all comments if they want, or it can be left open and free. Giving people the choice should always be preferable if circumstances allow, surely?
  5. Thing is Rich, you're still comparing all this to your experience which is somewhat unique in that everyone told you your car was overpriced and it didn't sell, and then you found a car that was at a dealer, so is always going to be more expensive than a private sale, and that was overpriced too as it hadn't sold. Both prices were over the top, and both cars didn't sell because of it. You were more than happy to tell the dealer that their car was overpriced: I'm not sure I can really see the difference between that and here. Okay, I can see the difference obviously, but you see what I'm getting at.
  6. neither should he, we are supposed to be a like minded community Wouldn't really call it an attack as such, as he was asking a ridiculous price for his car and someone called him on it. If words like "lying cheating thieving git" had been used then that would've been quite inappropriate and would've deserved some kind of modding. Should a community let people rip off it's members, whether it's intentional or not? I've not been here long enough to speak for this place, but personally speaking I feel that any kind of locking or censorship of FS sale threads does nothing but hinder the community as a whole. There's a difference between passing comment and having an uncharitable pop at someone.
  7. Agreed, but he did it on a public forum where he knew people could post anything they want after he left. If he didn't want comments then he could either have asked a Mod to lock it or simply post somewhere else.
  8. If you don't want comments on something, then don't post on a public internet forum, vis a vis the Silly Hat Rule. You may enjoy wearing your Brand New Trendy Hat and want to post pictures of it on the interweb, but if I deem it to be a Silly Hat then I'm perfectly allowed to tell you so. If you don't like it, then don't post. This place seems pretty sensible to me right now in that you're allowed to pass comment on things for sale ("That's really nice, proper bargain!" through to "That's overpriced tat") as well as ask questions in open forum, but if the OP doesn't want anything in their thread then they can PM a Mod to remove it for them. Assuming the Mods are happy with this then it seems like the best of both worlds.
  9. Fair enough, good work that man!
  10. Ooh, care to share which company did that % thing? Or are you not allowed? Sounds just like the kind of devious thing that certain companies would actually do, the bastards.
  11. Proof or I call BS. I'd only ever buy from the DVLA anyway, as they're always cheaper as the other companies simply buy from them and then put their percentage on top.
  12. Out of interest, what number plate were you thinking of buying?
  13. I've used Redline MT-90 in the past and it's fantastic stuff, would definitely recommend it and it's what I'll use on the Zed when the time comes for me to change my gearbox oil.
  14. In short, no. In a more detailed explanation, also no.
  15. Bonnet will make you faster. Exhaust will make you and others think you're going faster. Numberplate will probably make you look a tit unless it's tasteful. HTH
  16. Given that they got a 4.9 out of the 313 Zed, then just 0.2 secs quicker is believable. It might have been nice to know a bit more about the drive rather than just statistics, but we'll have to wait for some proper reviews I guess.
  17. Just remember that if you stay above 40mph you won't get wet, so there's no excuse for not having the roof down 95% of the time! Welcome along matey.
  18. See, I really like the Panamera and think it looks a lot better than it has any right to. I wouldn't buy one myself even if funds allowed, but I don't think it's as hideous as some of the guess-art looked. I have to disagree with you there. Almost every car manufacturer in the world has gone through some pretty severe brand changes in the last decade or so, and they've had to as the competition has changed. Ford now produce very good cars as they've got to compete with BMW, and Vauxhall are just about turning the same way. Toyota = boring and safe, and so on and so forth. Porsche needed to add the Cayenne just to make enough money to survive, as 911 and Boxster sales weren't doing it for them. It all very well and good to be able to say "Oh, we're a sports car company and that's all we'll ever do" but if it's not paying the bills... No-one mocked Aston when the Rapide was shown. Same principle in essence. Okay, so the Rapide is somewhat better looking than the Panamera, but the needs are the same.
  19. I hate that the two buttons are so close together, the amount of times I've gotten soaked when trying to turn the TC off as I pull away with the roof down is ridiculous!
  20. For that sort of money for that sort of car I'd be getting something with a Maserati badge on, not a BMW one.
  21. You don't have to literally use your heel and toe: I use either side of my foot and just roll across as my limbs don't bend like that either.
  22. We had loads here But now it's all gone
  23. Well spotted! Guess they haven't made any with a Nissan badge on yet then.
  24. It's 10K lighter than the 350Z.
