  1. Take the keys to bed with you. Job's a carrot.
  2. You can put them either way, it just depends on what you want the rotors to do. Having them facing forward as per the first pic is the more common way, as the vanes will dig into the pad more and allow greater braking at the expense of pad wear. Having them the other way basically does the opposite, but with the benefit also of de-glazing the pads. I'd always fit mine as per the first pic, and indeed that's what AP recommend in their Big Book Of Brakes (or their tech catalogue as it's more commonly known).
  3. Interesting one. I can't find anything on either the DVLA website, PH nor the whole of Google about this, so I'm tempted to call BS on it. Saying that, I honestly think it's a bloody good idea and if it stops chavs sticking black dots on their hideously-fonted number plates, then I'm all for it.

    Under 25's

Wait, what? You MUST declare all mods else your insurance is invalid.
  5. E46 330i. You'll pick up a decent one for that money, it'll be as quick as you should realistically need it to be, loads of room, looks good, bulletproof, and a great drive as well.
  6. What was the code when you reset the light? Please tell me you wrote it down...
  7. I'm assuming they see it as heat-related paint damage, i.e. you took a paint stripper gun, melted the paint off and let the body underneath rust. Which obviously any self-respecting owner does to their new car...!
  8. Doesn't work. * It's more like 8m than 20m over 50s right now * 8m of those 50+ workers currently contribute £80bn per annum in tax revenue that will then need to be replaced * The over 50s are highly qualified and experienced, not easily replaced by recently fired call-centre workers * Buying 8m new cars also means selling 8m used cars, destroying the second-hand values and driving costs up for everyone * Once 8m new cars are sold this year and none next, how is the industry to survive that dramatic rise and then crash * Over 50's selling 8m (large) houses to downsize will drive down the price of expensive property and drive up the price of smaller houses forcing even more off the property ladder. Or basically, an eight trillion pound boom and bust.
  9. Daft question perhaps, and forgive me if this sounds too harsh, but do you actually know exactly how a stiffer set of ARBS will effect the handing of your car? It's not always a good thing to have really stiff bars...
  10. Is it a Bose? Is it stock? Then it it's amplified as far as I know. There's so much info on the ICE side of this car on this site it's untrue, and if you'd looked at the FAQs then you'd have found this.
  11. That's what I like to see, positive thinking!
  12. See, now I want to know if you actually do have a funny haircut or not: Pix plz!
  13. Very true, but then no-one forces you to post them either.
  14. Great thread, please keep us updated
  15. Congrats, you've just admitted to driving without due care and attention as well! Tbh fella I don't particularly care if you find my posts boring, but I do promise to stop once you stop posting such utter drivel and stop driving like a numpty. Had you slipped to 35 in a 30 then fair enough, no-one's perfect and it's easily done if you're trying to nip past a bike, but 45 is some way over and takes a fair bit of commitment to do, especially in said van. I'm no great fan of PCSOs either, as I'd rather have one proper policeman on the streets than 10 of the little Hitlers, but that's not really the point here. /rant
  16. Exactly. Make the info as easy to find as possible so that it'll smack you right in the face upon a simple search and you won't need to dig through pages to find it.

    undertray bolts

If you want me to send you my spares shoot me a PM, I can always pop down and get myself some more. Goes for both of you, first come first served though
  18. How long until the DBA discs turn up? Assuming you're not going to do 1000s of miles in it, nor 14 laps of the 'Ring, then it should be fine. Just be aware of it and avoid hard braking as much as possible, as you don't want to transfer the extra heat to other more fragile components, or run out of pad material completely. Pics of the new discs when fitted plz

Definitely the spade clips, as I lost a couple (well, broke!) some the other week fitting my bracing. Didn't come with the screws mind you, literally only got the spade clips for that price.
  20. Noble will cost you a fortune, TVR will fall to bits, Exige S will be 95% as quick without the fear that it'll kill you everytime you stamp on the loud pedal. There's no doubt that the Noble is a thing of pure aggressive beauty, but could you really live with no boot? The footwell is tiny as well so if you've got medium to large feet forget it, and I'd definitely be looking at the servicing costs before picking out a car... The T350 is stunning but too fragile UNLESS you can get one that has had all the required rebuilding done to the engine, but even then I wouldn't touch one if you need a resemblance of reliability. The tendency to break down is very over-stated, but it's still 10x worse than anything else you could get. Exige S looks good, and has a very exploitable power band. It's relatively bullet-proof mechanically (I believe the oil surge issues on the early N/As was sorted for the S) and there is simply nothing in the world that drives as purely as an Elise or one the many derivatives. Well, IMHO anyway.
  21. To be fair, they have said on their advert exactly what tyres the wheels come with, so whilst it's a crap set of sizes and unsuitable for the car it's not like Jo didn't know what was coming (although obviously wasn't aware of the potential issues). Not picking holes, just looking at it from the other side. Not entirely sure if there's any recourse here via distance selling regs and/or SOGA: You might have to just suck it up and consider it a lesson learnt. Would be a good idea to edit your first post with the company name, the eBay link, the sizes and everything else you can think of to aid in searches for others who may fall into the same troubles as you.
