  1. Still, the amount of cars I've seen with extra M badges stuck on is untrue. If you have an M badge anywhere on the outside of the car then unless it's a proper M car it should be removed IMHO.
  2. And if people didn't buy it then they wouldn't sell it. Nowt wrong with a 318, but putting M stuff on it is making it something it's not.
  3. You've helped to kill the image of the M brand by putting all their stuff on a poxy 318.
  4. This is very true, and my post was a bit ambiguous in reflection. I use the gauge as a rough indication when I'm driving, but still check the level on the dipstick once a week to confirm that everything is as it should be. Tbh it's awkward to check on the DE, but it's not impossible.
  5. Clearly you haven't, else you'd know the answers to your questions. 1. Motodyne 2. Silicone where? 3. No 4. No
  6. Oh how ironic your username, as you'll now be needing more power to move those heavy lumps around
  7. As long as my oil sits over half way on the pressure guage when doing 75mph in 6th, I've got more than enough oil in there. Not sure if that's going to work for every car due to the differences in the engines and how crudded up it is and how long the oil pump has got left in it, but that's a pretty safe benchmark for my particular car.
  8. I know, I'm already getting my Burberry outfit ready for when it's the only thing you're allowed to wear when behind the wheel

    all new jag xj

The new XJ is utterly brilliant, and anyone who thinks otherwise is simply wrong Honestly, the arse end is to die for (despite being a ContiGT rip-off) and that interior is so modern yet so tasteful, and looks like a wonderful place to be. The lines are smart, the front gives Jag a proper brand now, and who would pick a 7-series, S-class or A8 over that?
  10. See, I was thinking much the same about the Zed, as it really doesn't have as good an image as we'd all like to think. It's actually quite a cheap chavvy car now.
  11. TG track times are pretty much irrelevent, different drivers on different days with different weather conditions and all that. I would expect the M3 to be quicker round a given circuit, but the Zed to be more fun whilst doing it.
  12. Sorry for the delay guys, completely forgot I'd put my name down for this and hadn't been checking the thread! Anyways, payment now sent.

    Owned

Just remember that his gearbox will fall apart in about 10K miles, whereas yours will still be going strong
  14. M3 is the better car, but then it's also £20K more expensive from new so you'd expect it to be. Whilst I'm not sure I'd particularly take a standard one over the Zed, show me the CSL or even the CS and I'd be all over it like a shot. Go drive one and see what you think. Personally I love them, although the brakes are a little grabby at first and the transmission tunnel a bit too wide for me as I kept catching the bottom of teh clutch when coming off the footrest. That noise and that power more than make up for it though All E46 btw, never driven the current one.
  15. Really? Google maps zooms in far closer than this one does for me, and is at least 2 years newer (and that's still from 2007!).
  16. I believe that Adrian Flux do agreed values, but could be wrong. Else try CCI or Richard Eggar, both usually good at this kind of thing.

    20" tyre presure' ?

Not always, tyre pressure is also heavily dependant on tyre construction as well: For example, you'd run higher pressures on a tyre with softer sidewalls. For the most part though, I'd try standard pressures first and change them from there on how you personally feel the car is handling.

    Under 5 secs? No chance.
  19. Unless you're planning on filling the entire car with lead, I'm not sure I'd bother altering the pressures at all. Certainly I didn't when I loaded mine up for Le Mans camping the last couple of years.
  20. So basically the ECU will still retard timing based on knock regardless of what map is uploaded to it? That's very good to know, and certainly puts my mind very much at ease. Sorry if it's come over that people are trying to pull you apart guys, as 3FiddyZ says I think it's more that we're interested as enthusiasts rather than calling BS on anything you've said.
  21. Trust me, you really wouldn't want to run a decat with the K1. That would be the same volume as running no exhaust at all, and that's going to be SERIOUSLY BLOODY LOUD.
  22. +1 Looks like they covered the front end with superglue and then ram-raided Halfords
  23. There is no official legal limit for cars, as the MOT only says that the exhaust should be reasonable for a car of that type, or some other legalese nonsense. I've never had any issues, but then I don't tend to drive in a way where I'd be asking for trouble anyway.
  24. Ah, the one I didn't click on then! That's pretty good looking at that, still be good to know what it's mapped for though. In a perfect world yes, but I normally use 97RON on mine as it's easiest for me to get hold of. Go out to the depths of Wales or Scotland though and try and find the good stuff and you'll struggle, which is why I wouldn't want a map that only let me use that. Been there, done that, made sure I always kept a bottle or two of octane booster on me wherever I went.
  25. Any chance of seeing the A/F ratio as well, to see how safe the tune is? Also, what fuel was this mapped on, closer to 97RON or to 100RON? Good improvements over stock, but I'd personally want to see how close to the wind I was running just in case I got caught short and could only find 95RON.
