  1. Given that the 'facts' are still being argued about daily by everyone and anyone, I'll carry on living my life to the style to which I am accustomed. The planet was here long before I arrived, and it'll be around long after I'm gone. Selfish? Perhaps, but if the planet is already screwed then I'm going to make the most of it and go out with a bang. Same reasoning why should I ever get cancer I'll be spending my last few months on a strict diet of alcohol & hookers instead of cramped in a bed on chemotherapy.
  2. Since no-one has ever seen/heard it fitted, I don't think that's anything I'd personally consider
  3. Does Al Gore have a point? No. He's a tit of the highest order with his own political agenda, same as everyone else who jumps on the green bandwagon. Mankind has evolved for millenia to get to this stage in our evolution, and I'll be buggered if I'm going to jump back 100 years and stop using anything remotely interesting and/or that makes my life easier. See: Plastic bags and big-engined cars. Mankind always finds a way around it's problems. I say let's screw the planet up properly and let the clever boffins of the science world figure out a way to fix it later, that way we're all onto a winner.
  4. Poor car doesn't deserve things like that
  5. If you want proper quality, then you can't keep the Bose. You can use a cassette adaptor which sounds utterly useless, or you can try a stereo transmitter (I used to have the Monster one) which kept dropping signal due to the location and size of the Zed's aerial), or you can suck it up and bin the Bose for something far better. I really didn't want to get rid of mine either, but after a year of faffing around with sub-standard equipment I bought myself a nice Alpine headunit and haven't looked back since. Seriously, if you want to connect an MP3 player then do it properly, don't waste money on crap solutions like I did And welcome along! :bye:
  6. Rich, give Richard Egger a ring on Monday on 0115 985 0165, they were miles cheaper than everyone else for me (including all mods) and got 4 free trackdays a year thrown in too
  7. Only if they do it in your area, and only if you're a fraction over i.e. 34 in a 30, so either way that's a no go. 3pts makes no difference to anything matey, especially if you haven't already got any points at all. It won't effect your insurance premium (although you WILL have to tell them), and you're a mile away from a ban. It's sad, but it's true. Learnt my lesson over here a few years back now, got 3pts + £60 when I should've been looking at a ban for the speed I was doing, so promised myself I'd never get myself in that kind of position again.
  8. No copper, just make sure I know the law so I can always stay the right side of it (well, in this country at least).
  9. Indeed, also a dual carriageway is only a dual carriageway if there is a central reservation barrier, else it's just a two-lane single carriageway and the lower speed limits often apply.
  10. That'll polish out. /obvious Looking at the roof that's definitely had a roll or two, interesting how there's almost no damage to the front bumper though: Wonder what happened? Just hope that the occupants were okay.
  11. What is there to appeal against? The limit was 30mph, you were doing 42mph by your own admission, I'm not sure what the problem is? Go back and check the road for the signs and if there are none then appeal away, if the signs are there as clear as day then suck it up and take it on the chin. Tbh I'd call one ticket in 8 years pretty good going.
  12. Does it install itself for that kind of money?
  13. Focus ST is arguably more expensive to run, certainly at least as thirsty plus all those nasty turbo bits to go wrong Nope, it means you have impeccable taste in cars I love the 172/182 cars, fantastic little toys.
  14. They're as common as knock-off VS badges/kits now anyway.
  15. Nismo, TRD, etc doesn't bother me so much strangely, but mostly because they don't make their own vehicles (specials notwithstanding). An M3 or an AMG Merc is designed from the ground up to be different from the run of the mill cars, it's more than just a more powerful engine and a bodykit.
  16. They're only £12 from Nissan themselves, get them to stump up for it if you're sure they lost it (although they wouldn't have touched your one, they have their own generic set) or get them to give you the part number for your specific one and order it from them anyway. I ordered a couple for myself to make sure that I don't get stuck.
  17. Couldn't care less how much the road tax is, it's peanuts compared with buying and running the car over the course of a year.
  18. Still, the amount of cars I've seen with extra M badges stuck on is untrue. If you have an M badge anywhere on the outside of the car then unless it's a proper M car it should be removed IMHO.
  19. And if people didn't buy it then they wouldn't sell it. Nowt wrong with a 318, but putting M stuff on it is making it something it's not.
  20. You've helped to kill the image of the M brand by putting all their stuff on a poxy 318.
  21. This is very true, and my post was a bit ambiguous in reflection. I use the gauge as a rough indication when I'm driving, but still check the level on the dipstick once a week to confirm that everything is as it should be. Tbh it's awkward to check on the DE, but it's not impossible.
  22. Clearly you haven't, else you'd know the answers to your questions. 1. Motodyne 2. Silicone where? 3. No 4. No
  23. Oh how ironic your username, as you'll now be needing more power to move those heavy lumps around
  24. As long as my oil sits over half way on the pressure guage when doing 75mph in 6th, I've got more than enough oil in there. Not sure if that's going to work for every car due to the differences in the engines and how crudded up it is and how long the oil pump has got left in it, but that's a pretty safe benchmark for my particular car.
  25. I know, I'm already getting my Burberry outfit ready for when it's the only thing you're allowed to wear when behind the wheel
