It won't be a fitment issue: I ran my car without any exhaust on at all (just the stock cats) and it was just as loud as when I put the K1 on. The only difference was that it was more tuneful with the exhaust fitted. Sounds to me like you've made a bad purchase, probably worth selling it on and getting something a bit tamer.
-
Give it time and it'll settle down. It's not that loud even when brand new tbh...
-
AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA no. That's utterly retarded money for that car and anyone who buys it has far more money than sense. You could get a normal GT-R + R500 + cash in the bank for the cost of one SpecV.
-
Flog it on and make a tidy profit then If you want something to give you an edge then I can highly recommend the Summit underbody bracing kit, will make the world of difference to your car on track.
-
Mate of mine had a black one. We used to call it The Hearse
-
Because the kind of person who has NAWZ installed is prone to driving their car into various walls and ditches and things, and is in general a rubbish driver. None of which apply to you, but that's the kind of sweeping judgement that insurers have to make unfortunately because for the most part it's sadly true. On a side note, is it really worth adding just for track use? Any extra bhp you get will be limited due to the extra weight (although not totally nullified) and more power won't necessarily make you any quicker whereas something like a decent brake setup really would make a lot of difference, or even a set of R888s. You could also use those on the road and insurers wouldn't have a hissy fit at them either. I can see the point of it in a 1/4 mile car, but not a track one.
-
Good point, I had a similar option on my MR2 a few years ago. Still, that wouldn't then turn the car into a Cat D though, surely?
-
Almost certainly no chance, but do check your documents to see just in case. It's only cosmetic damage which no extended warranty I've ever seen covers.
-
Cat D just for a wing? I know Nissan parts aren't cheap, but there's no way a wing + paint + fitting = £10K, which is what it must be around for the insurers to write the car off Cat D. Not trying to stir anything up I promise, but there must be more to it (either the damage or the accident) for it to be classed as that.

My brother had one so I got to drive it loads. One of the best cars I have ever driven full stop, more fun that the Zed tbh and with an absolute screamer of an engine. Sadly never got a chance to track it but I'd buy one myself happily given the chance. Loved it

You need to try somewhere more mod-specific, like Adrian Flux or CCI, possibly even Richard Egger.
-
Krypton Green. It's just a shame they never made the car in that Lotus colour.
-
0-60 means nothing, it's the in-gear times which will really count. An S1 Elise has a 0-60 time greater than a Zed, but you wouldn't see which way one went in reality (although that's weight and chassis above than in-gear shove). I don't think the 135i is particularly girly at all, not so compared with an MX-5 or MR-2. It's not brawny like a Zed coupe, but I would consider it happily on a level with the 350 ragtop.
-
That 3L twin turbo engine has more torque over a broader range, as well as a more modern chassis that is smaller and more nimble. I'm not saying it's completely the better car (if it was then I'd own one), but to suggest that it wouldn't be quicker point to point and stock for stock with a Zed wouldn't be correct IMHO. A quick remap on it would give silly figures, and you'd have to spend daft money to get the same amount in the 350Z. In some angles I even prefer the looks of the 135i, but as an overall package to someone who doesn't like turbo engines I'll be sticking with my ragtop Datsun for now.
-
Like the outside, love the engine, hate the interior. It's just such a dull place to be, and coming from a Zed owner that's really saying something! Great cars to drive though, and the 135i would be quicker than a 350 just about anywhere you'd care to mention.

Is that not what the Veilside kit is for? Mine gets used as much as it does the rest of the year, which means pretty much only weekends.
-
Clicky Really easy to put on and take off and leaves a great finish on the wheels. Makes 'em so much easier to clean as well, the dirt literally just slides off.
-
They will, can guarantee it. Get some protection on the wheels while they're nice and new, I can highly recommend FK1000 sealant as good stuff.
-
Wimp Personally I love this time of year as it means you can get the car to slide in a far slower and more controlled way than when it's bone dry. There's nothing better than a countryside blast with the roof down and the sun shining when it's still -13 outside.
-
And just to add to the pimping, I've got a set of OEM 18" wheels (no tyres) you can have for £150. Loads of choices now!
-
If it's fine now then you got lucky and I wouldn't worry any more about it. Personally I'd never have an intake that low to the ground as for the sake of maybe 1bhp (if you're lucky) is it really worth the extra aggro and worry? Different if you live somewhere baking hot where it never rains though, I guess.

Is BM going too far in terms of bad taste?

See, I like car forums, and I also like social networking sites, but which is better? There's only one way to find out... -

tell you what mate *** **** *** **** *** i don't pretend to be a dog, most people play on the title and avatar. its all good banter so i play along. I'm sorry if you missed the sense of humour classes at school. You hardly discourage it, do you? And anyway, like I said I guess that's my loss and if it keeps you happy then that's all that matters. Love the asterisks by the way, classy. If you want to say how you really feel then you know where the PM button is, and I promise not to repeat anything you say to the powers that be. Genuine offer, up to you whether you take it or not. -

@BM: Honest opinion? I couldn't care less either way. You've done nothing to insult me personally and even if you had I'm either adult enough to laugh it off or I'll give such a shedload of well-constructed abuse crafted in verse in return that you'd wish you hadn't. Life's too short to get upset over what people may or may not think about you. I'm sure I've upset more than a few people on here with some of my posts, but then I really couldn't care less as I've my own set of rules that I apply to whatever I post on any forum. I try to be honest with people, and that's that for me. Sometimes I'm so far behind the line I need a frickin' halo, other times I'm looked at the same way Gary Glitter would be if he walked past a school armed with a bag of sweeties. BM, if you really care that much about what people are thinking of you then it's time to take a break from posting for a bit. Quite honestly I like the occasional bit of blunt posting on the interweb as it breaks the monotony and helps clear the air, but I can see why some may start getting fed up (especially the mods, having been in that position before). -

I think you're both way over the top personally. Mark's comment in the pants thread really wasn't that offensive, but then it wasn't funny either. Rich, you're in danger of coming across as holier than thou and a tad sanctimonious, which isn't helping matters. In all fairness I've tended to avoid any thread which revolves around faux-gayness or pretending to be a dog as they're really quite childish and playground humour stuff which has a time and a place, and that time passed about 0.2 seconds after the original comment. That said, it's a free interweb and people are allowed to say what they want (up to a point), so that's my loss I guess. Neither of you would be half as bolshy as you are on this thread in real life, so just take it all with a pinch of salt and move on.
