  1. For a start, stop taking it to a main dealer. Infiniti or not, they're going to be expensive. Find a local garage, ask for recommendations from friends etc. It's only a Nissan, it ain't rocket science to fix it. Second, what are the actual problems? They sound more like recommendations to me, reading between the lines. Thirdly, cost to change is going to be more than the cost to repair your car, so unless you hate it or genuinely fancy a change (nowt wrong with that) then you're going to be financially better off fixing what you have now. Fourthly, MTFU and let's get this sorted
  2. So the only thing you're disputing of Greg's reply is the fact that he said the bumper hadn't been returned when it had? Because, to be honest, that's not the thing that jumped out at me. Now I'm not saying that he was right to lie like that (was it deliberate? Or just a mistake?), but all the other stuff he mentions sounds like a decent garage trying to do the right thing after a simple error by their bodyshop. Greg made good on that by trying to send instructions first, then he just sent a pre-cut bumper and refunded the fitting costs of it. To me, that's pretty reasonable, and you're coming across a bit petty on this. Greg is a case of what you see is what you get. His aggressive defending of his company grated with some on here, personally I found it refreshing but I can see why some didn't (and I admit I wouldn't have said some of the things he said if it was my company!). Reading between the lines, I reckon this was a case of an overly-fussy customer and Greg's habit of standing his ground initially, rather than just giving in. I mean, 110 emails? 11 months? Court threats? I'd have given it three months tops then simply issued court proceedings, you really didn't help yourself by dragging this out for that long! So yeah, there's my take on it. No harm meant, I'm sure you're delighted to have caught Greg out, but I honestly think you need to look at yourself a bit here too.
  3. Pigeons are vermin, especially in numbers. I wouldn't want them anywhere near me, and that's not taking into account anything to do with cars.
  4. I'm about to coat a Gallardo tomorrow. Did a Superb a while back for a mate, still holding up but then you'd expect it to. I use Siramik SC15 (there's better stuff out there, but you need to be accredited to get your hands on most of it). Process is easy, wipe on then wipe off, but you need to be pretty quick and thorough else you end up in a situation where you have to machine the stuff off to fix it. It's not rocket science to get right, but at the same time you can't take liberties with it like you can with... Well, with everything else! It's also not a one-time product that you never ever have to look after: Some people think it is, and then get irritated when it stops working. You do still have to clean your car properly once in a while! What I will say is that don't bother with it unless you've had the paint machined first, and don't scrimp on that bit. Coatings are pretty permanent, and if it's ugly before it goes on then it's ugly afterwards. Travelling to someone who knows what they're doing is going to pay dividends in the long run, unless you're comfortable machining yourself. Well not machining yourself, cos that would hurt. That's an excellent price, but IMHO it's a bit misleading on cost. The basic materials are around £60-£80, then you're looking at 2 hours (ish, includes the 1hr cure time) to apply the coating in full, plus whatever correction work the car needs before that. You can do the whole thing in a long day. IIRC I charged about £350 last time, but that was mate's rates (I know, now I'm misleading ) and a two day detail.
  5. Can we just put a spoiler warning in the title and stop with the hidden bits?! Common sense dictates you don't open a thread about a new film if you don't want to see people discussing it My thoughts? It was okay. The start was ace (finally got to see an X-Wing be proper manouverable like they're supposed to be), the middle bit utter tosh, and the end meh. Having proper model Yoda instead of CGI Yoda was a very good idea, but Luke was utterly wasted. We get a glimpse of him about to snap and kill Ben so proper character development, but then he just becomes whingy and then fades away for no good reason. Pfft. I wanted a proper blood and guts fight! Or at least an Alec Guinness Obi-Wan style heroic death. Also, the end big fight felt like it was only there as DLC for Battlefront II. If that's not now in the game, I'll be amazed. When it all went quiet when the ship went to lightspeed through the capital ship... Man, that was proper awesome. Absolutely bang-on in terms of impact. I'm really glad that they didn't make Rey related to anyone either, there's enough incest in this already without any more. Let her stand on her own. I'd have loved for her to have joined Kylo though post-Snoke and make the third film something to really look forward to, but I guess that was too much to ask for. The little kid doing a force pull with the broom at the end was a lovely subtle touch. The fuzzy things are cute though.
  6. Roof material didn't change at all during the entire production of the 350Z that I'm aware of. The facelifted interior is much better than the early ones, but it's still not wonderful. That said, if you're looking at '08/'09 cars then they'll all be facelifted anyway, so no fear there.
  7. Jeez Bob, that’s awful mate Glad you’re both okay though as that's the main thing, and good luck with the new job in January!
  8. Also, thanks for all your efforts over the years dude, I don’t think we’ve ever had a falling out so you’re okay in my book
  9. Unless they’ve sorted their horrendous quality control issues, banging them out of the door any quicker isn’t going to help Tesla. Cynically, I see this as an easy bit of good press to encourage more people to put a deposit down to assist with Tesla cash flow, rather than them actually having sorted anything.
  10. Exactly. No way a Milltek for a P1 costs 500x the amount one for a Corsa costs to R&D and produce, but the market will take it so that’s what they charge. See also M/RS/AMG tax etc.
  11. Given the cars are worth a min of £10M, how does that compare with regular stuff in terms of percentages? I mean, it’s a lot of money but is it out of whack considering the value?
  12. Losing the plot? I’m not the one claiming that a regular insurance policy can be treated like a warranty They’re not saying that steering lock failure is covered in the slightest: Damage, loss or theft are NOT the same as failure. And you’re right, I do take issue with people making foolish and utterly bizarre recommendations without having the common sense to understand just why what they’re proposing wouldn’t work in the real world. Utterly bonkers.
  13. Not a cat in hell’s chance. Damaged does not mean broken, as then you could claim on your insurance for anything and everything, including grenaded engines etc. If anyone is successful in claiming for this, I’ll pay their £100 excess myself!
  14. Nissan themselves say that the issue is down to wear and tear, so this insurance policy wouldn't pay out for that. It's not a warranty, it's meant to fix things when thieves try and steal your car. Tbh every single insurance policy covers the exact same thing anyway, which is general damage by vandalism or theft, so whilst it's a nice idea any one buying a JL policy on the basis of claiming for this is going to be sorely disappointed methinks. Plus it's going to affect your claims history, something most folks want to avoid. Unless, of course, you could somehow lose the entire steering lock mechanism, as it clearly says that it'll replace it in that case...
  15. Demon tweeks have pretty much exclusive sales in the R888R (note the extra R) these days. Just checked and they’re in stock right now. Tried Camskill, Black Circles etc? Where are you looking?
  16. R888R in 235/40 and either 265/35 or 275/35 will do you just fine. 285 rear is really excessive unless you're running massive power, especially on track rubber where you've got masses of extra grip anyway. Tbh, if you're running track rubber then you'll likely want to be running with the TCS off anyway, which makes the debate redundant. FWIW, I used to run 225/40 and 245/40 R888 on my old car and never had issues, nor a lack of grip
  17. The trick is to keep the % rolling radius difference between front and rear the same as OEM. Do that and you should be fine. For track, I wouldn’t look further than the R888R if 18”.
  18. I would've thought so, as you're not really limited by where you put the batteries (assuming they're flat rather than boxy) so you'd probably lay them all out on the floorpan. Would do wonders for dynamics as well, keeping the weight down that low. Just a shame they weigh so much right now.
  19. I've no doubt that one day I'll own/rent/hire an EV. It'll be for the daily grind, where the car drives itself and I can eat breakfast or read the paper or snooze away. That's the goal, that's where an EV can beat anything else. On the weekend, I'm firing up my ICE car and enjoying every last noise, smell and odd shaking through the steering wheel on right hand bends at 40mph that I have to diagnose myself.
  20. Did I ever mention that I quite like Porsches? FWIW before this gets locked, whilst I do still think that one single EV thread would work best right now (at least until we have many more options available to discuss) and can see where JP is coming from, I'm also aware that GZ hasn't been quite as *ahem* 'vocal' on the subject in this thread as we've had in others.
  21. To fit the RB kit, you have to cut them. A few months between shouldn’t make much difference, however I’d put something over the rust to stop it getting any worse at least. If you decide not to RB the car, then you can get them done properly.
  22. Is it still that crappy wasteland from last series?
  23. If you’re cutting the arches, then rust is a bit irrelevant
  24. Is thraping an EV round a track not like watching your favourite film with the sound on mute? Sure, you still get the core event, but you remove something very visceral from the entire experience.
