  1. I don't get it: They don't slag the 350Z off at all...? Seems fair comment to me, despite Edmunds reputation. They weren't testing it as a one-off how fun is it, but as a long term drive. NVH is bad which is almost expected, a few bits and pieces needed attention which is not unheard of in a brand new car (let's not forget that journos aren't exactly careful with these things) and they have different size gallons over there so that the mpg with a pinch of salt. They're saying it's a good sports car, but not a good all round car that you can happily commute in. Each to their own though, but it seems a fairly balanced article.
  2. Try Autoglym Vinyl & Rubber Care spray. Very cheap and yet works easily as well as the far more expensive (but still very good) Renovo stuff.
  3. If you're that low I'd be putting pretty much anything in just to keep the engine lubricated and then doing a full change upon returning home.
  4. I used to run a K1 without bungs too ya know @SunGodRA: Heaven forbid I should have an opinion that differs with yours. Like I said, I'm not knocking the work BM did at all as he's done a far tidier install of his setup than I have of mine, and 10/10 for giving it a go. My personal gripe (and it is just a personal view) is that if you're spending £100 on generic fruit-based music player, and then more money on either high quality downloads or music ripped from CD in high quality, it makes sense to have it sounding at least at good as a normal radio station puts out. I'm still running the stock Bose speakers and sub in mine so I can hardly be accused of pimping my ride with awesome sound, but there is a hugely noticeable difference between a tape adaptor and a headunit designed for mp3. The difference is comparable to old mono recordings and modern stereo, and that's just to my ears which I can assure you are not of a proper audiophile. As long as BM is happy then really that's all that matters. All I'm trying to do is point out the differences in case any one else wants to try this but ends up disappointed with the result, much like I was. Is that acceptable to you?
  5. I've yet to find a tape adaptor that sounds anywhere near as good as an FM transmitter due to the use of magnetic heads to transfer the music. They all sound like something you'd hear in an 80's Cavalier, and not in a good way if such a thing exists. That said, even the FM transmitters are rubbish as they don't have anywhere near the strength of the professional ones and as such suffer from greatly reduced signal quality. Very nice and novel way of keeping things tidy matey, but I can't see the tape adaptor giving anything close to decent quality. Acceptable maybe, but not what you'd expect to hear in a £30K car made after 1990.
  6. If a car is chosen as cool by Autotrader it automatically and immediately ceases to be cool
  7. £200 difference, so £200/52 = £3.85 But still, that's bloody expensive!
  8. Glad it wasn't me going mad then, as that's exactly what I thought too.

I sold my VXR to a mate and still get to drive it every so often, so don't miss it that much at all I miss the sheer speed of the 116 when on track, but other than that I don't miss it as much as I thought I would. On normal roads the Zed is just as quick due to the more compliant suspension, and of course the comfort factor is a big issue too. The 350 is a far lazier car to drive and less involving, but for my personal driving needs it's more than enough to keep me entertained and not freezing my bits off in the winter is a nice bonus too! One day I'll get something built by Lotus again, but it'll be in addition to a GT car rather than on its own.
  10. You sure it's a genuine 2005 car though? Check when it was made, not when it was registered over here.
  11. There's enough ammo there for me to be asking serious questions about the car, especially seeing as how 350Zs aren't exactly rare right now. It might be all innocent, just seems a tad weird to me. Maybe he did an oil change every 5K miles and recorded that as a service?
  12. I've sneaked both the Zed and my previous VXR220 into the MR2 Only magazines
  13. WD40 is crap, you need proper penetrating oil like PlusGas
  14. Considering he's already dropped £400 you may not get as much as you think, tbh it's not bad value as it stands really. That's assuming it's a genuine 2005 car. Wait, why has it had 7 services in the UK? It's only done 32K miles...
  15. CHAVVY McCHAV AND THE CHAV-CHAV CREW RESPECT INNIT BRAAAAP Really not keen on them at all.

No chance, you need to squeeze out past the door which barely opens enough to do so and you will catch the side of the seat every single time. The VXR is much easier to escape from in that respect, it's a real PITA in the Zed but it is doable. I just know that one day I'm going to park too close to the left hand side in the garage and then hear that SSSCCCCRRRAAAPPPEEE noise and then cry like a girl
  17. I wouldn't be buying a car that didn't have two things that I really wanted, and especially not from someone who doesn't know how big 5" actually is: His missus must be so disappointed. Also mismatched tyres, And The Use Of Caps For Every Word Is Quite Irritating. Still, if you're already decided on it then I'm not sure what use our opinions are. Leather retrim will be from about £600+ I would expect depending on what you want and where you go, Brembos are easy to pick up from someone like Zmanalex on here. That said, do the Brembos even fit a 17" wheel? I don't know, genuine question.
  18. Agreed, and that's why I prefer them. I took my girlfriend's MR2 mk3 out for a blast the other weekend and on country lanes where power really doesn't matter, I reckon I was quicker over 90% of them in that than I would be in the Zed. The perfection of the balance is just so wonderful, they really are an absolute joy to drive.
  19. God damn that's beautiful

    GTR Alloys on 350Z

Personally I don't like them. They make the car look too small, like a giant rollerskate or something.
  21. Just get the correct sizes, even if you have to wait.

Exactly what I had to do when I had my VXR, and it's a damn sight harder to get out of the Zed in my garage. The VXR never had the roof on in the garage so like you say it's a piece of cake to get out of, however I have to park the Zed to one side just to give myself enough room to squeeze out of.
  23. Ship to where? Weight is approx 90kg so courier isn't going to be peanuts, but if you're happy to pay it I will consider shipping if you want to get a few quotes.
  24. Pay for it like everyone else I would imagine
  25. With two knobs the front one adjusts the front of the seat base up/down, the second knob does the rear of the seat base up/down.
