  1. Despite the fact that you're utterly doing my head in with this thread, I'm still going to answer this sensibly. Or try, anyway. First off go and see what a plenum spacer does, and then see what the MAF does in relation to the AFR of the engine (these are easily searchable both here and in Google), and then work out why sucking huge amounts of air post-MAF is a Very Bad Thing Indeed. If that is the case, then I wouldn't be driving that car at all if I could help it, and I certainly wouldn't be going over 3K rpm. Remap will do nothing if the mechanicals aren't set properly. Out of interest, does your CEL still work, i.e. does it light up pre-ignition on the light check? I ask as you really should be getting a code if you're running lean enough to lose 100bhp... Also, you say the guy who did the dyno did three runs, yes? Then if he knew the car to be so lean that he advised you not to run it over 5K rpm, which he would've found out on the first run, then why the hell did he do two more runs?! At this point you need to forget any hopes of a remap and start taking stuff apart. There is a guide on here on how to fit a plenum spacer, I would suggest reading it and checking all the bolts are torqued correctly first of all, and listen for any leaks around the plenum if possible.
  2. If it's running lean then the only place you can have an issue is with the spacer as it's post-MAF. Who installed it? If you're getting air in there you're in serious danger of melting something soon.
  3. Am I completely invisible? Did my suggestion to go and do a run in 3rd gear from 30-70 and time it magically disappear from the server? Hello? Hello? Hello?
  4. Comparing drag strip times is pointless: In my car around Silverstone I would imagine that Hamilton is going to be a bit quicker than me, doesn't mean that when I drive it the car loses 50bhp.
  5. I could get 15s in the Zed if my launch and shifting were crap. Go and find a dual carriageway and time yourself from 30-70 in 3rd gear, that'll at least let us compare apples with apples.
  6. You would notice 100bhp missing from the Zed. It would feel as slow as a Fiesta.
  7. You're spending £25K+ on a car: Don't buy it unless you've tried it, so if they won't/can't find you a manual to drive then take your business elsewhere.
  8. Fronting
  9. In that case don't worry about it.

    Tyre Choice

If only we had a tyre comparison/review thread of our own on this forum, where members who had used the tyres could post up about their experiences...
  11. It's also a bit irrelevant, as with that much power in first you'll simply be spinning the wheels if you nail it.
  12. I think you mean "What's the point?".
  13. Made the forum do what exactly? /pedantic grammar Nazi
  14. Kinda what I was thinking. Obviously that ChipsAway guy (it's a franchise, remember) hasn't bothered to go and get the correct paint colour code as it's too much hassle for him, and he's used to people just going "Oh, that's close enough, it's only a Mondeo/Golf/generic shopping trolley car". Either he gets you the correct paint or you get your money back.
  15. Any, do yourself a favour and take the car to Dixon down at DMS in Erith. He took a load of measurements for me when I was unsure about my car and totally put my mind at ease that there was nothing wrong structurally with it (there was nothing wrong in the end full stop, it turned out). Even if it costs you a couple of hours labour it'll be worth it.
  16. Not sure if you're aware, but they're not Pilot Sport 2 tyres, they're the original Pilot Sport 1s. Might want to adjust your ad Shame really as otherwise I'd have had them off you for the tyres alone.
  17. Ummm, surely there's no comparison between the two as they're completely different forms of FI? It's going to depend more on what you want the final car to feel like than simply the cost of sourcing bits between the two.
  18. Now sold, good to meet you Alex and thanks for the painless purchase
  19. What pads are you running?
  20. Model: 2006 Revup Mods: Popcharger & ESR Y-pipe Dyno: Dyno Dynamics @ Surrey Rolling Road BHP: 291bhp at the flywheel - 240bhp at the wheels Torque: 260ft/lb at the flywheel - 212lb/ft at the wheels Utterly delighted with those results, and a very good basis should I decide to add a spacer, plenum & remap later in the year.
  21. I'm not sure what's worse, the text on the advert or the car itself! Will AF not insure you?
  22. How the hell you can miss THE VERY FIRST THREAD RIGHT AT THE TOP OF EVERY BLOODY FOR SALE FORUM is beyond me. There really is no excuse for it, and all this "Oh, but I'm so used to ignoring all that" holds no sway with me: We're all adults here, not children needing to be bloody spoon fed every last little bit of information. Mods, you have my sympathies over this issue.
  23. Sold pending collection
  24. Indeed it will.
  25. If it had panel gaps on the bonnet like that one has, then yes. I could get my head in there!
