  1. Right, gotcha. Ignore that part of my post then, but everything else is still correct.
  2. Sorry, but this thread is all kinds of wrong. You were happy to pay the asking price (which wasn't an unrealistic one at that) and the previous owner was happy to sell for his price. The garage saw an opportunity and took it, and there is nothing wrong with that. He took the risk that the car wouldn't sell, and was fortunate enough to find a buyer at his price. As for the wheels, how many people on here sell their other wheels seperate from the car? Any issues with that? Slightly different, yes, but similar principle. This thread is needlessly damaging a garages innocent reputation, and that's bang out of order. It's called business, live with it.

    R888s

OH SWEET JESUS THESE THINGS ARE MENTAL Best. Tyres. Ever. There is no way a car weighing 1700KGs should be able to corner like mine has done this past weekend. The Zed with the R888s on was able to corner faster and more stable than a VXR220 on A039s, which aren't exactly bad tyres in the first place (although granted not exactly the cut slicks of the Toyos). I've used them in the damp and they're perfectly acceptable, with easy as much feedback as the PS2s and with more grip than them too. I have yet to try them in proper rain, but I've driven on 048s in the past and they posed no problems at all as long as you keep a keen eye out for standing water so I don't expect much difference with these. Interestingly enough tyre roar was also remarkably reduced on the 888s compared with the PS2s, make of that what you will. The one thing I will say is that you will have to run with TCS off on these tyres in 225/40/18 and 245/40/18, but tbh any one who is capable of driving the Zed properly (i.e. doesn't have the light flashing away on the dash unexpectedly) will have no issues with that and a keen driver will soon reap the rewards. Also puts your speedo out a fair bit too, but nothing you can't compensate for. Again, I come back to the question why people spend thousands on pounds on fully adjustable suspension and ARBS and droplinks and camber adjustment and all sorts of other things when the easy and cheaper way to go quicker is to simply put better rubber on the car in the first place. You could have all the above mods on a car shod in T1-Rs/FK452s and I can guarantee you'd be slower than a stock car on R888s.
  4. I like the cut of your jib
  5. I'd care. I'd want to drive the thing every single day, and if it spent all the time in the workshop being fixed/serviced I'd soon get bored and move on. I see where you're coming from though, and realistically the majority of people who buy the car will feel the same as they'll use it rarely and pamper it instead of driving it, which is such a shame.
  6. Needs a proper drum kit for ultimate manliness Very nice mate, I wish I had the space to do the same in my place.
  7. As long as they say 225/45/18 and 245/45/18 and are the same make, then you're fine. No need to spend extra on the XL stuff if you don't have to, but they are acceptable to put on the car.
  8. Yup, they're fine. Those weight figures are miles over what the car needs.
  9. Hopefully England get knocked out nice and early so we can enjoy a decent footballing tournament without all the bullsh*t hype. Euro 2008 was so much better because we weren't in it. We're a quarter final team at best, nothing more. I can totally understand Carragher when he said that Liverpool is more important to him than England, as I feel exactly the same about the mighty LUFC.
  10. BFD That's the whole point. Not a chance in hell the Honda driver gave it anything like a decent start either, funny how they don't show the cabin from his car at the start showing revs... Some of those drivers are clearly better than others/know the track better: Look at the lines they're taking. That Zed isn't stock either, anyone know what was done to it? Actually, has anyone seen one of these videos where the Jap car didn't win? Like I said, they're done for entertainment, nothing more. They're not bad at that side of it as they promote discussion the same way TG does, you just have to look past it and see it for what it is.
  11. ARGH THOSE BLOODY STUPID JAP 'RACING' VIDEOS PROVE ABSOLUTELY NOTHING AS A POINT OF COMPARISON!!! They're amusing at times, but that's it: They're about as useful as a Top Gear lap. For those who think an S2K is a move down, go and drive one in anger. I dare you not to be impressed with the drive. Would an S1 Elise be considered a move down too because it's a bit empty inside and not the prettiest thing in the world and slower in a straight line? No, of course it wouldn't, so judging the S2K versus the Zed in the same terms is ridiculous. The S2000 is a proper sports car, anyone who thinks differently is kidding themselves. There's too many people on this site too quick to slag other cars off without having either driven them or simply because they don't like the looks. S2000s, Boxsters... These are genuinely great cars people, and while they may not be to your taste that doesn't make them a step down or total rubbish, it's just something different. There are some rubbish cars out there, but they tend to have Daihatsu or Kia in the name.
  12. For the price of the GTR, I'd still have a 911 as it comes with a proper gearbox and stick. Having been on track with one it's impressive to watch it monster along, but inside it's just not that involving. If the Lexus has been built to their usual standards (and it appears to have been) then it will become a genuine daily use hypercar. Nothing else in that price range will require as little servicing and looking after as the LFA (Zondas, Koenigseggs, CGTs, SLRs etc) and for that reason alone it may well become a definitive drivers car for those wealthy people that actually drive their cars and not just look at them.
  13. Welcome along That CEL will have nothing to do with your repair, as there's no sensors that far back. Unless of course you used so much gum you blocked the entire exhaust, but then you'd have bigger issues Check the guides section for how to read the code before wiping.
  14. I keep toying with the idea of doing this swap, but the numbers just don't add up. You're talking £10K min to do it I reckon, which is essentially dead money as you'll get maybe £3K - £4K back at the end of it if you part the bits out and maybe the same on top of a regular car if you're very, very fortunate. You'll only offset a couple of grand by selling the V6 + bits from the Zed, and when you think you can get a C6 Vette for £25K then you'll more than likely be better just flogging the Zed and buying one of those in the first place. I know big car mods are done more with the heart than the head, but even so there's a part of me that doesn't want to just throw that cash away. Unless of course my car becomes worthless over night, then I've got nothing to lose!
  15. Exactly what I thought when I read it, glad it's not just me! Thanks for all your hard work Rich, I'm sorry I didn't make to as many events as I would've liked but I know that every one here appreciates the efforts you made.
  16. What does this combination sound like when compared to the standard y pipe? A lot of people say the scorpion back box without the japspeed y pipe is not much louder than standard, was wondering if I may as well save a few quid and get the same sound by changing the y pipe and not the back box.... Honestly? It's not that loud really. Bear in mind that I've done that on purpose to ensure that I'll never have an issue with any trackday I choose to do, but it's also worth remembering that I used to have a K1 on there that I ran happily sans inserts so I do enjoy a loud exhaust! I forgot to mention I've also got a Popcharger on there too, and for me when the car is under load at WOT and I'm ripping through the gears to the 7K redline I'm more than happy with the noise the car makes: There's enough edge to put a tingle down your spine still. I do wish it was a bit more fruity at lower RPMs with less throttle, but I'm not prepared to risk losing trackdays by putting a different backbox on. For most people who are looking for a noise increase over anything else I would say that changing the Y-pipe alone probably isn't going to be enough for them, but then I haven't heard too many other Zed exhaust combinations in the flesh to have a proper comparison.
  17. Megane is a great car, let us know how you get on with it
  18. This reminds me of the Aston-stylee front bumper you can get for the Zed (forget who makes it now). It actually suits the car very well, but you could never do it as you'd look like a tit.
  19. There's not too many cars that don't look better than a Zed ragtop with the roof up, it really is quite ugly!
  20. I wouldn't worry in the slightest about a hardtop. I wouldn't worry about mileage either, I'd rather have a high mileage car with lots of servicing than a low mileage one with less.
  21. I think it looks better on the outside than the Zed, certainly the later models do. *hides*
