If you can, you really should. They are so much better than the Falkens and should become the tyre to buy on here if on a budget really. Not full of outright grip, but so very communicative.
-
Nope, it's 7 years IIRC, and even then they can keep selling the debt on and on so it can last forever. I really wouldn't panic though. As has been said, do the house move before even entertaining talking to these guys.
-
This. A million times this. Or the equally-pointless X1.
-
Just call your insurance company, they should deal with this. Failing that check your house insurance, it often includes legal cover for stuff like this. FWIW I wouldn't worry too much, if anything you have a bigger claim against the other insurer for not settling the claim in your favour.

Ooh you cynical old sod, you! Although now you mention it I wouldn't be surprised if that was true.

Saw that on the news this morning, utterly brilliant idea. Scarily addictive, too...

bloody chavs and your sound systems innit

It won't be too bad, I'm sharing the cost of a Caterham hire for the entire day as well so I can just do a few gentle laps to get used to the weight distribution and then go crazy bonkers in the R300! Funnily enough, when I bought the VXR220 I had a track day within a few weeks of picking it up. Span the car about 4 times as I wasn't used to it at all, but learnt a lot from the day.
-
Not picking the car up until Tuesday now, still waiting for the bloody steering wheel to turn up Ah well, one of those things I guess, and as long as I get it before I go to Anglesey for a trackday on the 30th I can't really complain too much.

No. They're pikey budget tyres, whereas the 452s are just budget on the Zed.

First post updated with sold items now removed for ease of browsing. If there's something there you fancy make me an offer, you never know your luck...!

Thanks guys I spent some hours yesterday stripping The Zed, and it was almost heartbreaking to do so. I still love the car, and even though it's (mostly) back to stock now it still feels like mine. I was soooo tempted to take it for one last spin last night and yet I know that's just tempting a whole bunch of fate I don't want, and so I know now the final drive will be the long one to Colchester to swap it over for the Porker. It's horrible when you get to a point with a car when it's just right and there's not really any more you can do with it, and that was the point I'd hit with mine. I'm sure they'll remove the 350Z-UK stickers I'm going to leave on it, but that's not going to stop me leaving notes in the manual and secret ones around the car dropping large hints about this place as it'd be great to not see the car disappear completely.

The 452s have softer sidewalls than the 040s and as such will need a higher pressure in. Try adding 2psi all round, although I suspect you'll end up nearer 4psi before you're happy. The 35psi works fine for either 040s or 050s, anything else will usually need adjustment.

Frickin' hell that's quick

Bugger, so close! It's an absolutely fantastic car, and the way it piles on the speed in 3rd whilst remaining utterly planted gives you so much confidence even on *spits* runflats, and yet I just didn't connect with it like I should have. It's sounds weird to say it but I genuinely loved the M3, and yet it left me cold. Very strange. I can see why people do buy them though, as they do everything so very well. It is indeed RWD, it's the C4 and C4S and Turbo that are 4WD. Luckily you can get both RE050As (on my car) and even better PS2s in N-spec, so there'll be no mixing or compromising of tyres for me!
-
Ah, are they not the same car? I thought the E90 was the coupe and the E92 the saloon? BMW and their silly numbers always have confused me!

I've had a couple of people PM me now with regards to what I'm getting after the Zed, and so I thought it was time to put up a proper post on it. I love my 350Z (or Slagathor as I have so eloquently named her) and she has been very good to me over the last two-and-a-half years, and part of the reason I connected with her so very well was finding a club like this one as it's rare to find such a friendly place that has quality technical knowledge as well as being run by people with common sense, although clearly I knocked the collective IQ down a few points when I became a Mod! Truth is there was nothing that I'd grown to hate about the car at all, it was simply that I had an itch for a new car and I started looking around. There were a good few cars on my hitlist, including a GT-R and a 370Z, but also an E90 M3, a current gen Impreza and even a Clio 182: As you can see, my choice was quite varied! I just wanted something different, something fun, and something quality. A couple of test drives later and I put down a deposit on a 2008 M3 with DCT 'box. A brilliant car by any measurement. And yet it didn't feel right. I came home and wasn't excited like I should've been. Jo came with me the next day to see the car and she absolutely hated it, and so I got my money back on the deposit (full credit to Cooper BMW in Colchester for being so understanding, would definitely deal with them again). A bit depressed at this point (after all, if a 400bhp V8 car loaded with toys doesn't do it for me, what does?!) we wandered across the road to look at the Porsche garage and see what they had in there with a view to probably testing a Cayman S, and there it was. Right in front of me as I walked into the forecourt. Black. Mean. Almost perfect spec. And far more money than I actually wanted to spend. And yet... How could I resist? It's a 997.2 Carrera S with PDK 'box and a good few toys, and ever since I drove one last summer it has been a dream of mine to own a 911. I didn't think it would ever be possible until a good few years yet, but by careful juggling of finances and the all-important seal of approval from the missus it was on. Collection should hopefully be this weekend (and now you can see why I needed to sell bits of my Zed so quickly), am just waiting for them to fit the flappy paddle steering wheel instead of the horrible button one it's got on there at the moment. I'll be sure to get some proper pics up when I get a chance. I still can't believe that I'm going to own what is pretty much my realistic dream car at such a relative young age, and I'm still pinching myself to see if I wake up. Knowing that I'm moving forward with a proper classic sports coupe is making the pain of letting Slagathor go a little easier, and yet I know I'll desperately miss that charismatic lump of Datsun when it's gone. I won't be going anywhere though as I love this place and the people here, so I do apologise for that.

What were the three points for? And have you bothered to ring them up and ask them to reduce the cost yet?
-
Yup, they made the two ends of the car more controllable at the limit although they haven't really been on long enough for me to give them a proper review. They were the final part in my suspension changes trying to make the car handle better but sticking with stock suspension, and for that they worked wonders. Sorry, you were just beaten to it.
-
Sorry, completely forgot in the flurry of PMs! Unfortunately you've been beaten on the slam panel though. The Eibach ARBs will definitely fit the HR car, not sure about the strut brace though: It should do, but probably wants a couple of washers underneath at least. Anyone else have any idea on that?
-
And the side step covers added, forgot about those too!
-
Whoops, I knew I forgot something! Post updated, £85.
-
They're medium compound (GG) which is the best balance between grip and wear I found on previous cars. Soft would give you a fraction more but you'd ruin them so quickly.

Updated with photos and new items
-
Sadly it is time for me to move on, and as such everything on the car must go. Due to time restraints (i.e. the car is going by the end of the week!) I've had to ask the team for permission to put these items up for sale without photos for now, and they've very kindly allowed me to do so on the proviso I get pics up ASAP. All prices are minus shipping, but if you want to collect from Essex then that's fine too. If you wanted to meet half way if you're a bit further afield then I'm happy to travel, just ask! ***EDIT*** All now sold, thank you all!
