  1. I'm still hoping for "Two Girls, One Cup And A Duke!"
  2. Ignoring for the minute that Clarkson is a very good journo who knows which buttons to push for maximum exposure, he's probably correct on this one. Thinking it through: Stiffer springs and shocks affect the ride quality for the worse Lowering the car means more scrapes on the front bumper Larger wheels add weight at the worst place and give a crashy ride Better brakes are more likely to squeal and are not so good from cold Exhaust and air filter are going to make the car noisier Better stereo MAKES YOUR EARS BLEED WITH BASS ...and so on. Technically from a generic POV 99% of mods make a car 'worse' as a daily driver, and it's only because we're enthusiasts who do it with a specific end goal in mind that we can put up with the compromises: To us, a bone stock car is the compromise, hence the need to modify.
  3. Given that the notoriously-strict Aussies have passed this as a 15 with no cuts at all, I'm not expecting this to be either a decent game nor shocking in the slightest.
  4. Very much doubt that, it makes the BBC a fortune in worldwide screening rights. I actually caught the second half of TG tonight, much to my better judgement. It's still sh*te
  5. Tbh I think it would be too, and if I still had the Zed I dare say I'd have switched too and taken the chance.
  6. Basically don't go there if you've got loads of mods or can't afford to replace them yourself should the worst happen. Unless you feel the money saved over another insurance company is worth the gamble, of course.
  7. SORN it then. You can do it online now so it's not like it takes an immense amount of effort to do it really. Honestly, I'm not sure the DVLA should take any hits on this one as, useless as they can be at time, at least they're trying to do something.
  8. Where do you think the scale in your kettle comes from?
  9. The Admiral Group have dropped their premiums this year by a substantial margin to get more trade, hence the reason they're substantially cheaper than everyone else. Mine's only £930, and that includes putting Jo (who's just 22!) on their as a named driver as well.
  10. Not really. The cost of removing the injectors, then sending them off, then getting them cleaned, then putting them back... Not worth it IMHO, especially as you'll have to find another 6 injectors to use in the meantime. Definitely worth doing if you've got a set that have been sitting around for a while or have ordered from a company where that could be true, then at least you'll know they're immaculate before putting them in. On a daily driver I'd just chuck a bottle of injector cleaner in once a year for peace of mind, along with a can of 10K Boost.
  11. Not personally but I know people who have. Well worth doing if you're making a build for power as you want to make sure everything is spot-on before you put it all together.
  12. Shame about the lights really, I think they distract from what is otherwise a stunning piece of motoring furniture. I'd love to build something like this myself one day, I just need a living room big enough to do it justice fist though sadly.
  13. Fairy Power Spray is my secret weapon when it comes to getting sticky stuff off
  14. 10K Boost is amazing stuff, but it's not strictly an engine additive. I've used the Redex injector cleaner and the like, never had any issues.
  15. There will be a considerable amount more lag, trust me. Great for a straight line, not so good for the twisties. Just fit some kind of splash guard around the turbo and you'll be fine if you're that worried about it. Cats run just as hot as a turbo and there's no issue with them getting splashed, much like the rest of the exhaust system.
  16. The turbo itself will more than likely run cooler as it's further from the engine. The biggest issue with them is the horrendous amount of lag you add to the system, and having felt the difference removing just 500mm from the intake system makes on a turbo, that's not a particularly appealing thought. Each to their own though, if you want easy straight line power then go for OT, although I can't see it being much cheaper to give reliable power than a standard system.
  17. I very much doubt it, but I'll go in with an open mind. The S will have to be screwed together a lot better than the early launch car I sat in to be worth the money though.
  18. Don't panic just yet, it's not until next Saturday (19th)! I'm on in the morning so it's a 9am start I think.
  19. As much as I laugh at that, it's also probably true: There's loads of guys over on SELOC who missed out because they have the cheek to own a Lotus already, and it's the people that don't that I'm assuming they're trying to coax away.
  20. Brilliant result mate, really pleased for you Nah, it's only because nowhere else will have us!
  21. Look on the ground after it's been parked up overnight, see if you can see anything. Check all hoses and clips, rads etc. Basically just follow the coolant system around and see if you can spot anything.
  22. Anyone get the leaflet with Evo/Octane recently inviting people to apply for a free day at Silverstone on Lotus, driving both the Evora and Evora S on track along with driving the normal one on the road? I did, and I applied, and I apparently passed the qualifying questions on the phone call as I've just got a letter confirming my place next Saturday! I can't wait, should be a really good opportunity to discover just how good the Evora/S is supposed to be both on road and track, and just how it compares to the 911 which is where Lotus are aiming the S version IMHO. I'll try and get loads of pics and stuff.
  23. TS20 is probably going to rape you insurance-wise, it's right up there with jumping red lights I would imagine.
