  1. It's a CEL (Check Engine Light). It means there's something wrong with your car and you need to get the code read either at a garage (£40-ish) or by doing it yourself using the handy guide located on this site.

    accelera tyres

Nice one, you'll love them. Soooo much feedback, great tyres.

What, Michelins? Maybe with their pikey stuff, but certainly not the Pilot Sport range.
  4. The better your brakes are, the faster you can go which applies to road as well as the track. Personally I always saw the brake dust as a necessity if I wanted the very best in braking (which I did), and having to spend another 5 mins when washing the car was more than worth it. I genuinely don't know why people get so hung up on brake dust That said, cost is very much an issue with the full PF setup, and whilst I would always go for best when it comes to stopping you in truth there's nothing wrong with a set of Yellowstuff pads on any disc really. I just look at it that if you're spending that much money (and discs aren't cheap), then why not spend a little bit more and be seriously impressed with your new brakes, rather than just mildly?
  5. I'd take the DBAs over the Brembos really, and with the Yellowstuff pads they should be fantastic Do have a chat with Zmanalex about the PF discs though, as they are truly incredible from personal experience.
  6. So basically you're going to ignore all (well, the vast majority) of the advice here and go with your gut? Well, I'm really glad we all bothered taking time to give you the benefit of our experience. You've got vastly different compounds on the rear to the front, and as such totally different grip levels, and you're wondering why the car is doing weird things? I genuinely hope it is just a wheel speed sensor, but even if it is you've still got a mis-balanced car once it's replaced.
  7. I had no idea you were such a chav, Sarnie Tbh I've only ever been to Nando's on that list, and then only the once. I've only heard of a couple of the others too.
  8. If you're smooth with your inputs you won't notice much difference with mixed tyres until you need them in an emergency.
  9. Yes it should. You've created an imbalance between the two ends of the car and the TCS has no idea what's going on, hence you're getting odd symptoms. In the meantime, just be more gentle on the throttle as that'll be a big reason why everything's getting confuzzled so quickly.
  10. First time I've seen the car in any other colour than white, and it's not good. I'm not even sure a deeper, more vivid yellow would work. Still, at least he's bought her something different rather than the generic Ferrari or Caddy.
  11. Dominos is for chavs. Real pizza aficionados go to Pizza Hut for either sit-in or take out.
  12. £108.99 according to my very rough sums
  13. No-one with taste buds goes there anyway
  14. The font used for the email address and phone number is utterly unreadable at that size. I don't think I'd change the size as it works quite nicely on the page, but definitely ditch the font for something readable.
  15. # Giraffe # Pizza Express # Carluccio's Caffe # Wagamama # Byron # Strada # Nando's # Jamie's Italian # Ask # Cafe Rouge # Zizzi As per here I don't have too much of an issue with kids in restaurants in general really as me and brother used to go to a few when we were younger with your parents, but it's when they start screaming and crying and (especially) running around everywhere that makes me want to kill someone. Why on earth parents can't control their kids or take them outside when they're playing up is beyond me.
  16. Bigger the better really, whatever size fits under the seats comfortably would be what I would buy. That way they're out of sight and not taking up room anywhere else in the car.
  17. Leave a couple of silica gel bags in the car somewhere, that'll help loads. Also make sure that you've got the AC on and it's not set to circulate when you're out in the car, that'll remove a lot of the condense that forms whilst you're driving.
  18. DA or Orbital polishers are as safe as houses, as you simply cannot get the paint hot enough to do any damage with. That said, you then can't get out the deepest of scratches with them either but if they're that bad you're probably going to use specialist help anyway. The Meguiars one as demonstrated by the guys themselves seems to be a bit of a bargain, and is probably where I'd drop my money right now.
  19. That said, there's nothing like having a play with a like-minded enthusiast you happen to stumble across when out and about. I had a huge amount of fun the other weekend in Milton Keynes (not a phrase you hear very often) with a current gen Jag XKR who was giving it full beans whenever possible. The sound of both his car and mine being used to the full = All done at legal speeds mind, thanks to the four million roundabouts and dual carriageways in MK.
  20. The RS division never touched the Puma, the FRP was created by the Rally team in Boreham Well done for not biting, it's just not worth it.
  21. Great news matey, many congrats

    Square setup

Nothing wrong with having a square setup with your wheels, but you MUST keep the stagger between front and rear else you'll end up with a horribly oversteery car that's going to try and kill you at every attempt. Keep it a minimum of 20mm like stock is (i.e. 225/45/18 and 245/45/18), or increase the rear size if you want more grip at the rear.
