  1. Yes, but never on one of my own cars. I'm not that daft
  2. Given that Peugeot themselves only ever claimed a top speed of 143mph, I'd agree with you 150mph on the speedo perhaps, but I shudder to think of the length of road you'd need to get to that figure.
  3. Because it's got different grip levels to the front. Better or worse doesn't necessarily come into it when you're playing with random tyre setups in emergency conditions, an over/undercorrection because of mixed feedback could easily cause a spin.
  4. You mean wax, not polish.
  5. I might've sneaked a couple of bits of pepperoni off the top of a floating slice
  6. This. Exactly this, it was like a scene from Friends or something! It was utterly heartbreaking when you hit the point at which you know you've completely ballsed it up, despite having had numerous opportunities to save it (don't order until the missus is home, don't put the shelf so low in the oven, don't put flammable cardboard in an oven, keep trying to blow it out as it will work eventually, and most of all don't put a decent pizza near a bloody bowl full of water!).
  7. So our local Dominos is doing a 'any pizza for £10' offer atm, so me and Jo thought we'd treat ourselves. She rang me just as she was leaving work so I could order a pizza to share and it would be here for when she got home. It arrived slightly earlier than my guesstimation, so to keep it warm I popped the oven on very low and put the whole box in the oven just as I've done loads of times before. I then went off to play with the cats, knowing that the pizza was in good hands. It wasn't until I smelt the smell of burning that I thought something wasn't quite right... I'd rearranged the oven shelves recently and put one too low, so I walked into the kitchen to find the back of the pizza box on fire. Proper flames-style fire. Oops. I yanked the whole box out of the oven in an attempt to save dinner, and started to blow on the arse end of the box to get the flames out. It was like one of those never-ending candles that don't ever go out, so I moved onto the next option: Douse with water. I'd just finished the washing up so had a full bowl of soapy water right next to me, so quickly turned and dipped the corner of the box into the water, and could only cry as I watched the ENTIRE ****ing PIZZA drop straight into the water, via the hole in the side of the box where the fire had burnt away the cardboard. I stopped. I cried. I lolled. I cried a little more. 20 secs later Jo walks through the door, just as I'm on the phone ordering another pizza. FML.
  8. Or you could actually do some work like you're paid to, instead of browsing the internet

    Road trip

    Don't speed. At all. /VOE
  10. Whilst I feel sorry for your friend, saying you should never turn it off in snow and ice is bad advice as that's the time you may well not want it on, to get some grip. If the engine cuts power every time a wheel spins, you'll get nowhere fast so will need to disable it It's a Nissan not a Ferrari, so not exactly difficult to drive with the TCS off
  11. If you want the very best, then the Performance Friction pads are just that. Not cheap, but utterly incredible stopping power and I wouldn't go with anything less
  12. At the moment, my favourite is NeilP's car. Having stuck with the Nismo stuff but adding the graphics have created a car that is understated yet attention-grabbing all in one, and that's the exact kind of look that I've always been after with my cars. There's plenty of other tastefully done cars on here (and plenty more not so tastefully done! ), but right now I struggle to think of a Zed I'd rather own than Neil's.
  13. I've seen the way you drive, I'd like to keep my licence thanks
  14. Dear god I'm not planning on the whole route in one day! I'll be doing LE to JOG in the one day, and then I'll break up the rest over another 5 days. LE to JOG is about 15 hours so horrible but doable.
  15. Yup, doing it in the 911 so at least I'll be in relative comfort whilst driving. I'm still waiting on a couple of friends to get back to me to see if they want to join me, but even if they don't I'll still enjoy it I hope! That one day is going to be a killer, I know, but at least I don't still have the Zed with the K1 on! Hotels are pretty well priced I think, it's the 1700 miles on super unleaded that's going to kill me!
  16. I have no idea where else to put this so I'll chuck it in here! I'm planning on making the above trip at the end of April, and using it as an opportunity to explore some other parts of Scotland while I'm at it. Since we've got an incredible breadth of members on here, I was wondering if anyone had any advice on either the route I'm planning to take or the hotels I'm looking at staying in? The route Staying at: Lands End hotel Seaview hotel Cluny Bank hotel Poppies hotel Premier Inn Cramlington The route is only very rough for now and I know I'll have to change it at some point, but I think it looks okay atm. The route up there will be dull as ditchwater until I get to Scotland as I need to make time rather than fun roads, and I will definitely be altering the route from Newcastle back to Braintree, but that's about as far as my plans have gotten me so far. I'm really looking forward to it, in a perverse oh-my-god-what-am-I-doing kind of way!
  17. Daily driver: 997.2 C2S Weekend: S1 Elise Classic: V12 E-Type ragtop Supercar: Carrera GT Shits and giggles: Dodge Ram SRT-10
  18. Dry the car properly after washing it with a drying towel, and then apply a coat of DJ Red Mist or, as mentioned, Megs Last Touch. You'll get no water marks then after washing the car
  19. Christ on a bike, most of you lot are as bad as the X5 driver! An X5 is a bloody good vehicle, and if I wanted an SUV that's where my money would go. An MX-5 is utterly brilliant fun and a good driver in one will leave an average driver in a 350Z for dead on country lanes. Z4 is far more capable than people give it credit for, too. Who cares what others say? No car is perfect at everything, there's always a compromise that won't impress someone, so ignore it. Personally I respond to hairdresser comments with an offer of a quick cut and blow dry, might as well join in on the joke! And yes, that does make me just another flash w*nker in a Porsche with no taste!
  20. That. Is. Awesome. Seriously Neil, that looks incredible and they've obviously done an amazing job with it. Well done, sir!

    Tyre Help

I just want to know why you'd want to run such large tyres at the front, and what you're planning on running on the rear?
  22. Yep think I went out with her when I was younger. (a lot younger ) Beat me to it, I was going to ask what about the car though

    What do you think?

All the cool kids have black wheels witha polished lip I do prefer the original colour though, you lose a lot of the detail when you go black.
