  1. That's brilliant, I didn't know they did something like that! I may have to invest, nice one matey
  2. I didn't believe that cyclists actually ran red lights until I saw one do it right in front of me last week, whilst turning right on a busy crossroads of all places! He was somewhat taken about when I leant out of my truck window and shouted at him as loudly as possible: "IT'S A RED LIGHT YOU F***ING IMBECILE, I HOPE YOU GET SYPHILIS AND DIE!" And yes, they were my exact words. Not big, not clever, but the ***** deserved it. I don't put many miles on my cycle myself but I am acutely aware of just how vulnerable you feel so I always give plenty of room and space when in a car and passing, and likewise when on the bike I always try and give plenty of warning when I want to change direction. I'm not perfect though, I know that, and I really wish that my bike had a rear view mirror and indicators as that would make my life so much easier/safer. There's no easy answer really, it just relies on common sense on the behalf of both parties, something which is getting less by the day sadly.
  3. Realistically you don't want a gauge at all, you want a big flashy red light that tells you if something is wrong. Gauges are great if you need accurate numbers but they're also intrusive and distracting, whereas a big flashy red light that only activates when things are bad is a much simpler and more effective solution. It would be relatively simple to rig up a subtle light into the main dash cluster too.
  4. That's not a de-cat though
  5. Not really fair about industry not changing, all of Europe have had to make huge changes to the way they pollute the planet by either doing it less or doing it more cleverly True about India and China though, especially the Chinese.
  6. I don't even need to click that first link to know it's a load of crap. We get told a hundred different things every year about the future of our climate, and none of them remotely bear any resemblance to the others. I don't pretend to be a scientist and to have any meaningful level of comprehension about the global nature of weather, but I do know that by the time anything major happens I'll be long gone from this planet and it'll be someone else's problem. That suits me fine.
  7. I think we've got a few different names for you on here
  8. It was removed because it was making the forum slow. There's a more technical explanation than that but that's the best you'll get from me!
  9. It's actually a pretty good idea, and it can work well as a guide when done correctly. Personally I quite like them when they're structured in the form of Q&A, for example: Why are you moving on? What are you moving on to? What made you choose that particular car? What were the best bits about your Zed? What were the worst bits about your Zed? Anything you would do differently if you owned a Zed again? Gives a rounded explanation and not only explains why the poster bought his or her new car, but also gives details of Zed ownership to help a potential buyer.
  10. Not all marshals are as lucky... Mentioned by Brundle during the commentary, bloke had his leg broken and the bone was sticking out when Brundle went back to help him.
  11. Is Button a good driver? Clearly. Did McLaren finally make the right call strategy-wise and it really paid off for them? Undoubtedly. Is Lewis still the most exciting driver to watch simply because you have no idea if he'll be genius or mental? Oh god yes.
  12. It cuts the spark rather than reduce power or brake certain wheels, hence why it feels so sharp. Tbh (and this is directed at no-one in particular) if the electronics are cutting in on you all the time then you're driving the car wrong. If you're smooth then it simply doesn't cut in at all.
  13. Yeah, they were advertising it all the way through the race when the ads popped up on Eurosport. Looks like the Signatech car came in 2nd in LMP2 and 9th overall, not sure how much of the driving Lucas did though.
  14. If you want it then do it, life's too short to worrying about it
  15. Holy frickin' crap I feel terrible this morning
  16. ARGH MY HEAD HURTS SO BADLY 24 hrs of race + 24 hours of beer & vodka & red bull = monster hangover
  17. http://www.bp.com/sectiongenericarticle ... Id=7060376 Nope, I guess I was right the first time.
  18. Thought they stopped doing the 102? Or have I made that up from somewhere?
  19. I've put the odd emergency tankful of 95 in before, no harm done.
  20. The 911 wants 98 but gets 97, 1RON isn't here nor there really. Certainly I wouldn't worry about it
  21. This person is my new hero, and we even share the same name!
  22. Absolutely not. For the gains you get for the first 5 mins of excitedness, you lose an incredible amount of stability on the forum and the amount of forums I've seen hacked that had a garage mod you wouldn't believe. ROC was done twice, IMOC was done too, and I know the guys who ran both sites at the time and they're no fools. Not worth the risk IMHO.
