  1. I can't believe I'm going here... Are you really surprised that the only moving things in a video, the only things that are actually affecting what's being transmitted in any meaningful way, are the things that are breaking up in poor conditions?
  2. You have waaaaaay more patience than me, Stu.

You have more faith in governments than I do.
  4. What’s the mileage you’ve done on these clutches?
  5. Your driving, by the sounds of it. How long in miles have the clutches lasted for?
  6. Just for absolute clarification, are you telling us you believe the Earth is flat?
  7. I’m willing to bet what happened was that the value of the car was less than the policy excess, so no money was due. Same with any car, Cat marker or not. Trouble is it never gets reported properly, so you end up with stories like this floating around.
  8. Where did you read this? AFAIK, they will pay out just at a reduced cost simply because the car is worth less in the first place. And of course, if the damage is the other driver's fault then they will be claiming from their insurance, not yours.
  9. Then why did they make the Nismo version lighter? Engineers are PR people as much as any one these days. Andreas Preuninger is a master at it.
  10. Maybe, but it's ultimately irrelevent as the lower weight car will stop quicker, turn quicker, be more fuel efficient etc. Absolute no brainer.
  11. Less weight, every time. Not even close. The car will be much, much more responsive and a hell of a lot quicker than by adding a little bit of power.
  12. Exactly, my point proven.
  13. Regardless, unless there’s a very good reason not to (ie high mileage, or change of induction or usage) there’s no reason not to use the recommended oil for the reasons Rich says.
  14. I was going on what the actual BMW manual itself says. Even them I was wrong, it’s 0w30. And thanks!
  15. You ain't taking that on track. Unless you're towing a Caterham out of the gravel, of course
  16. Nonsense. The current F80 M3 wants for 5w-30, for example.
  17. Never read any of his books, guess it makes sense they tried to do TV Clarkson in there to maximise sales. Shame though.
  18. In fairness the only box it doesn’t tick is the light one. It’s quick, good handling, involving, plenty of room for kids in the back plus you’ll easy get 35mpg on a motorway run. But it definitely ain’t light
  19. My thoughts too, pretty much word for word, although I'd forgotten about the limp mode when the oil gets too hot so that's a great shout.
  20. His written stuff is excellent, it's the TV persona I find grating.
  21. Not that I disagree with you at all Rich, but why not 5w50? Wondering if your reasons agree with mine.
  22. I’ll be amazed if they’re still around that long. Not a cheap shot, I really mean that: There’s only so long you can carry on putting out sub-standard kit before consumers get fed up, and making loss after loss before investors get fed up. With the traditional competition now heading EV-ward, I’m not sure there’s a future for Tesla as a car company. Not an independent one, anyway.
